Diner Reviews
  • "The pork shank was cold had to return the pasta dish was mushy and so oily that was dinner. Lunch was much better hamburger was great! "

  • "Main dinning far nicer than atrium like offshoot, except for view. "

  • "We were very happy with the dinner we had here. Food was great and also had good service which is hard to come by in Vail. Will definitely eat here again!"

  • "A verry pleasant dining experience with a nice view."

  • "This restaurant can count on steady business from the hotel guests "trapped" in the Cascade resort. It acts like it. We walked into an empty restaurant except for our friends, who were already seated. We had reservations for ourselves, but we asked if we could be seated with our friends. The host told us it was impossible due to all the other reservations. We were disappointed, but said OK. For the next 2 hours, the restaurant remained over half empty. There was no reason that the host could not accommodate us. The waiter was odd & awkward, disappearing for long stretches, never telling us about specials. The food was uninspired and my expensive Kobe steak was coated with a bitter marinade. No mention of a marinade on menu. Avoid."

  • "We had dinner there on a Sunday night and the meal was great. The restaurant was very quiet with only a couple other tables around us. Had a great view of Gore Creek from the dining haul. Service and food were terrific."

  • "The staff was excellent as was the food. My family thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Price was moderate for Vail."

  • "Stayed at Cascade Resort and had dinner here. Had the Kobe steak and the salmon. Both prepared very well and tasted excellent. Highly recommend both dishes. Service was attentive without being overbearing."

  • "Food was good, staff was accomodating but seemed understaffed. Easy to get a table at last minute, great pasta dishes and vegan option."

  • "We chose this restaurant for it's location and steaks and we were not disappointed. We were a little shocked by their prices. It was a celebration dinner and we enjoyed it but may think twice about coming back."

  • "We'd had breakfast here too, and the eggs benedict was basically inedible-dried out ham & muffin and the yolks were rock solid. At dinner, we paid $100 for one glass of wine, one appetizer, one dinner salad & one entree. They were fine, but nothing special. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 6, except a table with two moms & two kids. That table quickly became two tables of families with young, noisy children, yet they continued to seat adult only parties right there, in an otherwise empty restaurant. The waiter & hostess sympathized with us, but did not offer a new table, so we paid, and finished our drinks in the bar."

  • "The waite staff needs serious improvement. I dont need to hear chatter about last nights date, I dont care what boarder is "tearing up the pipe". My waiter was in and out and had to be called back several times just to take orders. Not impresses."

  • "I am surprised the restaurant had a good rating on Open Table and Trip Advisor after our average experience. It certainly was not up to the standards I would expect based on the cost. Our server was nice enough but we had to ask twice for a coke and twice what the special was. We ordered the focaccia bread which was also forgotten for quite some time. The menu provided a decent variety at different price points but the food itself was just OK. I had the Colorado Lamb Chop prepared medium well and the meat was quite tough although still slightly pink. The server forgot to bring me a steak knife. The sweet potato fries were good in flavor but too soggy for my taste. The highlight was my husband’s fettuccine with mushrooms."

  • "Was not expecting a huge restaurant connected to a lodge. Website didn't mention that. But, very nice upscale place, not very convenient parking, food was good, consistent with price. would go back again. knowledgable wait staff."

  • "It was my husbands birthday. All staff from waiters, bus boys and manager all wished him a happy birthday. The large dish seclection was on the house for him. Service was great. We liked the waiter, Josh. They also made a special dessert for him and written in chocolate on the plate was, "Happy 75th Birthday Ted". A very special touch. We both totally enjoyed the evening. We also were seated right next to the fireplace."

  • "Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Food was good but service was awful. Couldn't get mad at restaurant because they realized service was unacceptable so they comped dessert without us asking. Appetizers were served but where are the plates? That bad."

  • "Waited 15 minutes for a bottle of wine only to be told they couldn't find it. Waited another 15 minutes for the replacement wine (delivered without wine glasses). Changed the side items on one dish and didn't get the desired items. The lamb and steak were very fatty and not cooked to proper temp and served cool. The place was not busy and had at least 20 open tables. It was very disappointing and I will not choose to eat there. We should have just stayed in the bar area."

  • "Some dishes, such as the venison, were outstanding, both others, such as the salad, was just fair. Given the price level, the food should be consistently excellent."

  • "We went in a group of five to celebrate a birthday. The wait staff was great! I think our waiters name was Lucas. The food was great. Loved it. We will come back."

  • "We took our 5 young men to this restaurant and had a great dinner. There was a great selection of food choices and there were many beers to choose from. They enjoyed the beer flights to get a taste of the local brews. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine. We tried A few if the appetizers: the lamb meatballs, the chicken wings, the tuna tacos, and sweet potato fries. We ordered a second round of lamb meatballs and a skillet of focacia. All were excellent. Dinner choices included bison burgers (excellent), trout, short rib grilled cheese. All the dinners were great. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines, beers and food. Would definitely return when in the area. A great local treasure!"

  • "I spent a night in Vail with my girlfriend for her birthday at the hotel that houses this restaurant. Our server Ivan was incredible. Not only did he comp her entire meal ($50 lamb chop plate), he brought us free champagne, and a piece of chocolate cake on the house. I couldn't believe it. The food and wine were also excellent but the real star here was our server Ivan."

  • "This location is a bit west of the main part of Vail, but still on the right side of the freeway. The restaurant is inside of a resort (Vail Cascade) but it feels like a free-standing restaurant. It is actually beneficial because just outside of the restaurant is a great cocktail spot in front of a huge fireplace where you could have a drink before sitting down. The pork shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and made unique with a dollop of fall-friendly cheese, peppers and herbs. The fish dishes were also outstanding, done to order and to perfection. Don't miss the foccacia appetizer with homemade pear preserves. An exceptional value was the $33 for 3 prix fixe menu -- one appetizer, one main course, and either a salad or dessert."

  • "Service was extremely slow although the restaurant was half full (at most) and the servers were all running around as if they were slammed. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and another 15 to get our bar drinks. Our server didn't recognize that it was our anniversary (even though I made the reservations with that information) and we were seated by the kitchen which was loud and distracting. The food was mediocre (blackened chicken wings were good, but the short rib grilled cheese sounded much better than it was and the carnivore pizza was so-so). Both the dinner and dessert menus were lacking. Although all workers seemed nice, overall it was a very disappointing ending to our 5th anniversary."

  • "We have gone here several times since its close to our home but even if it wasn't we would still go over. The outdoor area by the hugh fire pit is wonderful and the service is great."
