  • "I really wanted to like Atrium, but the service was awful. Although there was a two person table available, we were seated at a counter table facing the kitchen. When we asked if we could sit at the table, we were told the restaurant was expecting a large group. Next thing we knew, two other people were seated at the table we requested. Next, our waitress took forever to take our orders. We indicated that we were going to the theater and had limited time, yet our meals took a half-hour to arrive. Our meals were only prepared after we flagged down our waitress (we know because we watched them make our meals). Our waitress was then quick to give us the check and ask us if we were ready to pay.I have no plans on returning to this restaurant."

  • "Grt customer srv! Great views! Beautiful decor. We ordered the salmon crudo. It was gd not great. Could have used more flavor. We ordered 2 pasta dishes. Both were OVERLY salted. The quinoa tagliatelle had to be returned. The waitress apologized and told me that another one would be prepared. I was not asked if I wanted something else, which I would have appreciated. 2nd attempt lacked flavor all together. I guess no flavor is better than hypertension. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill came - my dish had been comped. I hope the food improves because this place/food has sooo much potential . All in all it was good for a quick drink b4 heading to the theater. Can't recommend based on the food but hopefully in time it will improve."

  • "I brought my newly fiancée'd gf to Atrium DUMBO after proposing to her while overlooking the city skyline. I had notified the staff of my plan and they were happy to make our night all the more memorable. My fiancée and I are definitely foodies, and absolutely everything was fantastic from start to finish. The apps were very well portioned (beef tartare was unbelievable) and our servers made a great suggestion for matching a wine to our difficult-to-match choices for apps and main. The ambiance is just right, and LOVE the open kitchen."

  • "Hubby and I came here for the $55 Vday prix fixe $85 with wine pairings and was disappointed by the entree. We both selected the steak, cooked both medium and medium rare. The flavor was on point, but the cut of meat was so chewy and not tender. It was a workout for the jaw. For the price of the meal with wine pairing, I expected higher quality protein ingredients that what was served, plus the Syrah was not paired well at all with that course. Of course we finished it becasue it was valentines day but given another day, I would have sent it back. The other entree selection were for scallops, but they only served 3 pcs for the entree. For an entree, really that's so cheap. We will be hesitant to make another reservation."

  • "The French toast here was probably the best I have ever had. Also the duck confit sandwich was sublime. The bread was really hard to bite/chew - only reason I didn't give the food 5 stars. I love the waitstaff sport plaid shirts - very Brooklyn. I wish we had saved room for dessert!"

  • "This was a great find. The space and the décor are attractive, There is a 'kitchen table' where you can sit and watch the chefs work a small bar. A big plus is that the music is kept at a level where it is not necessary to shout at your fellow diners. The short menu has some interesting and very tasty dishes. The wine list is varied and interesting if a little high-priced. I would go again."

  • "First time into this neighborhood gem and it was awesome! It's a beautiful space and has a great vibe. We started with cocktails at the bar and were really surprised. Those cocktails were as good as any I've had at notable cocktail bars. We sat upstairs on the mezzanine with view into the open kitchen for dinner. Great wine list too. We ordered a bottle of 1991 Riesling that was 60 bucks! We started with the meat and cheese plate which was great and priced well and moved on to the smoked long island duck and diver sea scallop special with a side of mac and cheese. Everything was incredible, even the house made smoked potato bread! We can't wait to come back and just might host a cocktail party on the mezzanine!"

  • "My fiancee and myself have been coming to Atrium Dumbo regularly since it opened in the late summer of 2013; I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there; and we've tried almost everything on the (regularly updated) menu between my fiancee and myself. Chef Laurent is masterful in his art (and quite an experience to watch from the chef's table overlooking the kitchen.) My favourites from the menu: Muscat and Pears is wonderful cocktail, very light and refreshing; The quinoa tagliatelle is a must try as well. For dessert look no further than the cheesecake."

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to spend New Years Eve at Atrium, as it appeared to be one of the highest rated restaurants in Brooklyn. Sadly, it was a complete waste of money and a terrible last meal of 2013. Items that should have been flavorful were bland, while others were way too salty (one in particular was unbearably so, and we left the restaurant unable to get the taste of salt out of our mouths). The veal was overcooked and tough, the brussels sprouts were steamed too long and mushy, and the desert was tasteless. I do have to say though that the scallops were cooked perfectly, the service was good, and the cocktails were excellent, but at the end of the day I cannot recommend Atrium to anybody, and I will never be going back."

  • "We were looking for a restaurant in Dumbo and this was well recommended on Yelp and Open Table. However, we were surprised by the limited menu and choices. Had the quinoa pasta dish that we could not finish because it was tasteless (meaning flavor) there was pasta and cauliflower and tiny bit of quinoa. The squash soup was good.Had the pasta and pork dish that was ok, but not great, and did not finish for the same reason. The disappointment was the dessert menu. We thought that maybe we could redeem the dinner with a good dessert, but again, very limited choices (only 3). Wine list, espresso, location and atmosphere was good. Liked the open kitchen. Service staff was very young, and OK. Overall, a disappointing experience."

  • "After several visits to this neighborhood spot near the water and scenic bridge, I'm very pleased with this cozy but energetic, high-quality establishment. The food is contemporary American, with (currently, Dec 2013) a great wintry, comfort quality. (Try the chicken! Although chicken can often be a token dish for the timid diner, at Atrium it is really great.) The bouillabaisse is hearty and delicious. I hope they change the menu seasonally, though. Everything I've tried has been great, but the half-dozen starters and half-dozen mains will get old for repeat customers. The wine list is extensive and top-notch. In addition to the diverse bottle list, Atrium offers a selection of higher-end wines by the glass. Delighted, we'll be back!"

  • "Looked at the menu and it sounded a bit high concept. but gave it a go anyway and all of the dishes my party ordered were DELICIOUS. Quinoa pasta with lemon an cauliflower, fettucine with pork ragu, sausage with lentils, brussel sprouts with bacon. it's upscale comfort food.The servers were lovely. Our server in particular was so pleasant and helpful as we tried to agree on a wine we jaded NYers were almost taken aback. (I said ALMOST). Highly recommend. I can't wait to try more of the menu."
