A word from Atmosphere Bistro
Set in a charming cottage, near Ansley in midtown, atmosphere is a chic bistro that offers more than just a pretty face.
The mood is romantic and mellow cool with soft lighting, open hearth fireplace.
The theme of relaxed, inviting elegance extends to the bar and the patio.
The menu offers great classics such as Escargots in garlic butter, Duck confit, as well as Mussels marinieres or Scallops with mushroom raviolis.
From best French restaurant to best 100 overall restaurant, atmosphere has an impressive collection of awards and "Best of" nominations since its opening in 2002.
No wonder it is rated excellent by Zagat revue and #1 French restaurant in the city.
Atmosphere, finally a bistro that is not just trendy!

Atmosphere is the finest and most authentic French restaurant in Atlanta. Attentive but quiet service, a superb menu of real French food, beautiful presentations and outstanding choices of wine. Perfect for dinner, or for a lovely Sunday brunch. Great for lunch and does not take overly long at lunch-time. The Confit de Canard is outstanding, as are the Terrines, the Trout, and soups. Desserts are authentically wonderful. The ambiance is like that of a small restaurant in Paris or a Michelin-star restaurant in the countryside.

Sunday evening was perfect for what we wanted - cozy, but quiet because of the small Sunday night crowd. Food was terrific - service was good - may have misunderstood my order request - so a mix up on the food, but handled well - we were in no hurry.

We've been eating at Atmosphere for many years and have always considered it one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Unfortunately, our last experience was pretty disappointing. Explained by a mishap with spilled soup, I understood why the waiter was absent, but we couldn't get anyone to take our order for over 15 minutes. Our mussels, which had always been fabulous, were tiny and tasteless. The sauce was wonderful, but couldn't make up for the 1/3 sized mussels. Didn't enjoy employees walking by with the umbrellas from outside and cleaning up around us. Felt we were being run out before we could get our dinner. We'll try it again, hoping this was just a bad night, but I think management needs to get back to a well-run restaurant.

The food was very classic French. Loved the escargot, wild mushroom ravioli, and the creme brulee. The service was good as well. My boyfriend and I loved it. Prices are reasonable, especially given the quality. We will definitely be back.

My husband & I had been to Atmosphere Bistro one other time about a year ago & had a wonderful time. Everything from the service to the ambiance were superb. I was excited to return to celebrate my birthday. This time was not as nice. We were seated outside, as requested; however, there were so many mosquitoes, it wasn't enjoyable. The service was incredibly slow. It took about half an hour for her to bring out bread. Our $14 lobster salad appetizer was extra tiny & we didn't feel it was worth the price. Our seafood entrees were tasty, as were our desserts. I was disappointed that no one acknowledged my birthday at all, even though we'd let them know in advance that was the reason we were dining there. Don't think we will be back.

The service was extremely slow although the server was very friendly, and the food was too salty. I tried the terrine but had to send it back. The steak was better but it too was over-salted, as was the duck. It was a nice setting.

My husband and I had a great pleasure of bringing my Mom to our favorite place - Atmosphere on Sept 27. The food was fantastic (as always) and what really made our experience memorable was the personable, relaxed service by Samantha. It was also great to see Kevin again (who served us at our last visit and made my Mom feel really special). Best wishes and thanks again Atmosphere!@!

I've must have already written over ten reviews for Atmosphere Bistro. The vast majority praise their excellent escargots, cheese plate, every one of the many different soup of the day, their eggs benedict, the hanger steak and even more. The restaurant isn't going to impress by its appearance, but that doesn't matter, it will really impress your guests and other fellow diners with the excellent dishes offered along with the relaxing environment. Easily my most frequented restaurant in the Atlanta area, and for good reasons.

We love dining at Atmosphere and were so excited to have a reservation this past Thursday evening. Our food was excellent. We were just finishing our main course when we were informed that our car had been stolen out of the Valet parking lot. That was not what we were expecting. Our server, the maitre'd and even restaurant owner Christine couldn't have been more accommodating and professional. I'm sure we will dine there again, as the food is out of this world, but I'll bet we take a cab next time!

We took advantage of mid town restaurant week to try this restaurant for the first time. We just got back from France, so were concerned that we might be disappointed, however this food rivaled what we had in France. We had the escargot, French onion soup, trout, hanger steak and the profiteroles. All were excellent. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection and extremely tender. Service was excellent We will be back.

We came during midtown restaurant week. Our server was very friendly and attentive for the most part. I had the soup dujour, an eggplant soup with truffle oil. It was very good. The French onion soup came out piping hot and was also delicious. My main dish, mussels were served in a white wine broth. The accompanying frites were fresh, hot and yummy. Creme brûlée and vanilla ice cream were a nice finish.

Went here for 46th wedding anniversary. The wait staff was excellent and gave us plenty of time to savor our drinks, was attentive but not hovering. The food was outstanding. If you want it to be an romantic evening, choose one of the back rooms. The front room and bar area are nice but you either look out onto the road or a junk yard next door. I was disappointed with my experience. The food was ok and the service was bad. I ordered the cheese platter: $15 for 3 tiny pieces of cheese and a few grapes. The grapes were bad and not properly washed. We showed it to the waitress and she barely said she is sorry. I asked what type of cheese they were and they merely knew. The quality of cheese was mediocre. They promote the plate as "imported cheese" but really I can find better brie and cheddar at trader joes. Upsetting. When I pay $15 for 3 tiny pieces of cheese and $7 a bottle of water (SanPelegrino) I expect the quality of the food to be great and the restaurant to take pride of their quality but it wasn't the case. I also ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. That was ok.

Atmosphere is my favorite French restaurant in Atlanta. Even in France, I don't think I've enjoyed the escargot as much as here. The service is always friendly and attentive. The ambience is quaint and cozy with a lovely outdoor patio. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and have loved it all. I definitely would not pass up the foie gras, terrine de lapin or the escargot. 5 stars from myself, friends and family that I've taken here over the years.

With great options to choose from, ranging from their delicious Soups, to their amazing Escargots, to their Eggs Benedictine, and to dessert, Atmosphere has simply too many must try dishes that it'll take at least a couple visits to try most of them. In addition, the staff is very friendly and professional. If you haven't visited this place, you are missing out and I highly recommend to book this place for your next dining experience.

Enjoyed brunch at atmosphere bistro this past Sunday. The food was outstanding all us enjoyed their entrée and dessert. Unfortunately the service was less than stellar. Our server was exceptionally slow, disappeared for long periods of time and charged another tables drinks on our check. When we pointed out the check mistake she blamed it on someone else. This was my first time eating here. The walk up to the restaurant seemed old and ugly. It was coupled with some junkyard stuff next door which was off-putting. All that first impression stuff made the interior of the restaurant look dingy too. The food was good and the service friendly. I ordered a carafe of wine and the waiter brought a glass. No problem I just ordered another. We just moved into a nearby neighborhood and this restaurant was conveniently located. We will give it another try some time soon.

We really love the food and the atmosphere at Atmosphere but during the past year the service has declined. There seems to be a lot of turnover among the wait staff, which is fine, but few seem to understand even the basics of being responsive and attentive. Last weekend, we were extremely frustrated with our indifferent server who finally had to be personally summoned to take an order for dessert. It will be a while before we return, although the restaurant had become our "go-to" place for Sunday nights.

I had four different dishes and a dessert. The escargot and beef carpaccio were fair at best. The foie gras was cooked to absolute perfection and melted in my mouth like cotton candy. But, I come to expect that from properly prepared foie gras. The magic of the night happened with the scallops with mushroom stuffed ravioli. It was my "course of the year" thus far. The truffle Parmesan emulsion is a perfectly executed sauce that remains light and airy but still a flavorful accompaniment. The quality of the scallops were amazing! Large, succulent, very sweet (Probably all females) and seared to mid-rare perfection. Wine list was seriously lacking. PJ and Vueve for champanges? Blah. Louis Latour for Burgundies? Very pedestrian. I will return!
