Diner Reviews
  • "Our crabcakes were very good. But the service was incredibly slow and, when it looked like we weren't going to order a feast with champagne, the waiter took on a very annoyed tone. The food took forever to come, which meant he got an even lower total from us because by the time the food came, there was no time to order dessert. Then they got very confused with the bill itself--charged us two times, then once but not the right amount. All we had were two crabcakes and some fries. No drinks, nothing else. How hard can that be? And if they had moved us along, the waiter could have had another table in half the time. Also, WAY TOO NOISY!"

  • "I went during Restaurant Week. They mixed up my order and brought my sandwich before my appetizer salad. But I was glad for the mix-up, because when I started eating the sandwich, I knew I wouldn't be able to eat the salad afterwards. The waiter brown-bagged my salad. Dessert (I got the upside down strawberry shortcake) was just okay, but the sandwich was delicious and very filling. Will come again."

  • "The food was fresh, flavorful, and well served. My only objection was that the server kept asking if everything was OK. I really hate that; if it's not OK, I'll tell them before they can ask."

  • "While I thought the food was pricy, especially the sushi (which was two miniature pieces), the bronzino, salmon and tuna were quite good, although the salmon billed as a large plate, did not contain much fish. I recommend the bronzino, and the salmon was good. The ice cream desert was ok, but the applied crisp was dry and could have been pretty good if served with more than the teaspoon-sized dollop of common ice cream to moisten it up. Over all, I would recommend if for restaurant week."

  • "We had dinner just before our show at Lincoln Center. Being that we weren't that hungry.. We shared the Kale Cesar salad and the crab cakes. Both were great! I also had a shrimp and calamari appetizer that was nice ....but not my favorite. Our service was wonderful and I would definitely return. The menu had so many seafood dishes that I look forward to going back...and trying more."

  • "We have never had a bad waiter or a bad experience here. We always marvel at the evening maitre'de who keeps everything running smoothly by leaving no stone unturned. The food is fresh and expertly prepared. What a bonus to have it served so efficiently by such a pleasant staff."

  • "The space is beautiful, it was quiet, we were able to talk and enjoy a conversation. Food was good, service was excellent."

  • "I should have read the regular menu instead of only the one for restaurant week. The tomato salad for appetizer is so refresh with cheese and spinach sauce. The asparagus sushi is better than normal, thanks to the spicy sauce. The salmon is a little too bland. The medium-rare steak is good itself, more than decent with slightly cream sauce (not sure if it is made do cream, but I like the light green color). We love the idea of upside down fruit torte with a spoon of ice cream on top. I think I haven't tasted the real value of Atlantic grill. But I could see some sparkling from the sauce. I give 4 star is because a little bit dirty on the glass bottle which should not happen in a $$$ restaurant."

  • "Everything was good. We were a party of 6. Nothing was exceptional, nothing was bad. It was a good meal but that's about it."

  • "This was about the 4th time I've had lunch here with old friends who come in from San Francisco. It offers a good location near their hotel, a nice menu, pleasant atmosphere, efficient and pleasant service and always good food. The prix fixe lunch ($25) was a good buy and the choices were varied. Everything we had was delicious. It can get a bit noisy but that's pretty standard for NYC restaurants. It's proximity to Lincoln Center must be a plus for many people."

  • "This was our second annual cousins gathering at Atlantic Grill (party of 6). First the management and staff were very accommodating in setting aside the table we preferred (round) and the service was excellent - attentive without "hovering". We were there during "Restaurant Week" and the lunch choices on the special menu were varied enough that each of us found special menu items that were interesting. The watermelon and tomato salad and the maki rolls were delicious for apps. We sampled each of the 3 entrees between the 6 of us and the consensus was that they were all excellent. We recommend Atlantic Grill highly for small groups, special occasions, and a lovely, relaxing lunch."

  • "Went with my girlfriend during second day of restaurant week and both had hangar steak and the salmon ceviche, but not by first choice. I was disappointed that the Cod was SOLD OUT already but wasn't told about it until actually ordering. Experience would've been better if the waitress was more on her toes and on top of everything, she seemed lost. Would still recommend either way for any occasion!"

  • "This is the largest restaurant I have seen in NYC in a long time. It goes on and on. We had a quiet table in the back room. Very much quieter than the front room so very nice. the food is excellent and beautifully presented. If you are going to Lincoln Center, it is a good place to eat."

  • "The food was good, as usual. The service was competent, but frenetic. We saw waiters running. (Not enough waiters?) The noise was not just "energetic", it was overwhelming. Maybe this is because it's the tourist season. I don't remember the noise being so bad on previous occasions, and the service was also more leisurely."

  • "Excellent spot for seafood dinner near lincoln Center.the wild copper river atlantic salmon special was just that-very special, perfectly cooked! Everything we tried was very good-lobster toast, scallops and bon-bon dessert. the service was very good until we had to wait much too long for the check.-the waiter seemed overwhelmed at that point..."

  • "Dined Saturday night in the Cafe. We had plain grilled fish - Long Island bass - with side dishes - spinach, risotto and small potatos, all truly excellent, tastily garnished to set off the fish. A glass of wine apiece and a cup of coffee to end with. The cafe was fairly full, but no problem with noise levels at all. Amiable and amusing waiters saw that we were comfortably finished, without ever hurrying, in time for the theater at 8."

  • "We regularly dine at The Atlantic Grill on West 64th Street. However, this experience was not up to what we expected. Our server was abrupt and did not smile once. Our food came in a timely manner but the quality was not good. My husband ordered fish special and I ordered Crab cakes. They both were underwhelming. So sorry to have to report this. We won't be going back for awhile."

  • "When we arrived a the restaurant, they seated us at a table that was unsteady. They tried to fix it, but the fix did not work. Instead of moving us to a new table, they tried to fix the table again. I had to insist they move us to another table. The manager should have moved us at the beginning and shouldn't be trying to seat people at such a table. Get a new table for pete sake."

  • "I went to the Atlantic Grill with my family after a show on July 4th. Our server was wonderful, the food consistently good and the ambience energetic and at times a bit loud. I have been to the Atlantic Grill on both the east side and the west side. I prefer the location near Lincoln Center, as the upper east side restaurant is too noisy. However, the staff is always very pleasant and attentive, and the food consistently good. This is a solid, New York restaurant that is consistent with its food, and a great choice before/after a show at Lincoln Center, given its location. However, the prices are high, consistent with other New York City restaurants, so this is something to be aware of before making a reservation."
