Dinner was terrific. 2 of us had the ribeye, which my friends said was the best they ever had. My husband had the chilean sea bass which he just loved. I got the shrimp over rice which was very tasty. ALL dinners were not simply average, but noteworthy. Donuts for dessert! Delish! The waiter was so attentive and funny too! His recommendations were all accurate. I have been to the Atlantic Grill in NYC many times and wanted a special place for my friends 40th, so we came here. If you are looking for excellent service, a Great atmosphere wth an ocean view, superior service and fabulous food...you've found it. The only negative was that our waiter didn't seem to know much of anything when I asked him for recommendations. And when he told us the specials, he spoke so fast and unclear, it was hard to understand him. The atmosphere was elegant, quiet and the view spectacular. Our oysters were fresh and tasty. My husband loved his filet mignon and my roasted salmon was delicious. I also had a very nice cabernet. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. Also he was able to recommend dishes. In other words, he was very familiar with the menu and the wine list. We had reservations for 7 pm and were seated immediately despite a few people still missing from our party. We had a nice view of the ocean and it seemed like most tables had a good view. A few of us were able to get $5 glasses of wine (happy hour specials) at the bar before 7 pm. I had the salmon roll special as an appetizer and it was very good. The salmon was very fresh. The pretzel crusted flounder was a little salty but I still enjoyed it and would recommend. The crust has a nice crispness that balances well with the tender fish. Several of our group had the grilled scallops and shrimp and they enjoyed those very much. Everything was wonderful from the waiter to the ambiance and the fantastic view. The food was outstanding, with a varying price range. Wines by the glass were available at prices to suit most people. We started with a variety of apps with fresh local oysters, calamari and crab cakes. All plates were passed around and enjoyed by all. The flounder was local and perfectly matched with the pretzel crust (highly recommended by Janine our server). The shrimp were massive and the pasta perfectly cooked. We had a vegetarian in the group this trip and the options were endless. This trip, I had the Pretzel Crusted Flounder and it was superb. I am Mexican and I like my hot pepper with my food and I was kidding if they had jalopaños and they got me 2 spicy delicious jalapeños. I was so happy.
