Diner Reviews
  • "Simply a delicious meal, attentive staff and a great, fun atmosphere."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner in this restaurant, the food was good, we didn't have to wait long, they have a nice wine list, good friendly service and reasonably priced."

  • "My party enjoyed dinner at Atlantic Fish, as the grilled haddock and chicken pasta were very good and the wait staff visited our table frequently to fill water glasses as well as make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Prices are reasonable for restaurants in the Copley Square area, and Atlantic Fish is an excellent choice for cocktails, lunch, or dinner."

  • "You'll not be disappointed. Atlantic Fish is our #1 restaurant for lunch or dinner before a BSO (Boston Symphony Orchestra) concert. The food and service is always wonderful. If you like mushrooms; their side dish is to die for. Note: My wife is the classical music buff and I go along in order to dine at Atlantic Fish."

  • "Great service excellent quality seafood. restaurant is crowded and loud, but food and service definitely makes it worth the visit. I had the crab crusted haddock and could not ask for a better dish."

  • "Excellent ambience. Blackened black cod and risotto very tasty but the cod just too charred so tasted of charcoal. Cheese cake desert huge and tasty."

  • "A classic Boston seafood restaurant. Atlantic Fish is what it's (unnamed, but you know the upscale chain I'm talking about) competitor should well have remained. I was somewhat surprised at the wait one has even with a reservation, but the matire d' was apologetic and once seated the service was outstanding. All our dishes were perfectly prepared and presented at a pleasant pace despite how busy the restaurant was and we felt no pressure to hurry along. I've always been a big fan and would return in a heartbeat."

  • "We read the reviews. We wanted a good seafood place. We looked through the Yelp and Opentable reviews and this seemed to fit the bill. We arrived at 7:55 for our 8:00 reservation and were then told we had to wait. Which we did. Out on the street since there is no real place to wait. Finally seated at 8:20. We ordered the clam chowder and the calamari as appetizers. The clam chowder is good, but was not the "Award WInning" as advertised. The calamari was under seasoned. We then ordered the fish and chips (quite good) the mustard coated salmon (excellent, especially the lentils) and the scallop coated cod (very bland). Overall the food was good but very inconsistent. There are better places in Boston for the money."

  • "Menu included a vast assortment of seafood dishes between it's appetizers and entrees. Entrees were of amble portions. Ordered the crab and corn spring rolls as an appetizer and San Francisco Cioppino as an entree and both were delicious. Across from the Prudential Center and it a very nice area of Boston. Glad I made a reservation as it was a two hour wait on a Sunday night at 8:15pm when I arrived."

  • "From the Minute we walked through the door we knew we had made the right decision for our anniversary dinner. the atmosphere was great the staff were friendly and attentive the food was to die for. our waiter was fantastic , nothing was too much trouble .we were even treated to a complementary Desert. Without doubt the best food we have eaten."

  • "I had the fried haddock along with spinach , grilled asparagus and a cup of clam chowder. The veggies were done just right; well seasoned and not over cooked. The chowder was as good as any I have had in Boston. The haddock could not have been better. No tarter sauce or lemon could have improved it. Everyone was polite, friendly and seemed truly concerned about your satisfaction."

  • "Wow--what a fantastic find in the Back Bay area of Boston. We tried to make dinner reservations several days in advance, but nothing was available, so we decided to visit for lunch instead and we were thoroughly impressed on all levels. The prices were reasonable, especially given the large serving sizes and incredible food quality. In our quest to find the "best" lobster roll" in Boston, Atlantic Fish reigned supreme--huge chunks of lobster meat, very little "filler" or dressing, and a delicious, moist bun. The wait staff and service was impeccable and the decor is beautiful. Perfect in every way! We will be back!"

  • "though the lobster ravioli is a bit disappointing compared to limonchillo at the North end, but the food is in general nice."

  • "In Boston for a conference and wanted oysters and clams. The rating and location led us here. We were not disappointed! The oysters (wellfleets!) and clams were outstanding, clam chowder excellent and do not overlook the crab spring roll. The calamari was so good we were ready to eat the garnish to get the last of the flavors. At the advice of our server, wrap the lettuce around the outside and enjoy the extra crunch! We were seated in a booth when we requested one, had outstanding cocktails, followed the advice of the server when we ordered too much food (we enjoy sharing appetizers, soups and salads over large entrees), and did not leave hungry. I'm sorry that I can only give the service 5* - they should have 6!"

  • "Service was great. Huge selection of wines by the glass. Food was very good (although the Halibut was a little overcooked). The oysters were delicious... would definitely go back again!"

  • "I was surprised at the size of the portion of scallops...enjoyed every one. The asparagus and potato sides were also very good. My husband's lobster bisque had plenty of lobster."

  • "I had to reserve a day ahead to get a table. The service was very knowledgable and professional. I enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller. DH said the lobster salad was not as good as others that he's had. He really did enjoy the San Francisco cioppino. I had the daily special which was halibut cheeks. The fish was great. I found that the brussel sprouts over powered the fish somewhat. We managed to find room for dessert and espresso. All in all, a very nice meal. We found the noise level a bit high. Fortunately we were seated beside a wall so we could have a conversation. I would definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "We visited from Chicago, saw the reviews and had to try it. I had the stuffed lobster. It was very good, not the best I have ever had, but excellent. Loved the portable butter warmer sand wrapped lemon wedge. My husband had the swordfish and thought it was quite good. Our service was excellent. We had been walking around Boston and likely underdressed, but we weren't treated any differently. I would definitely recommend this place. There were many options to choose from on the menu. Oh, and the location is great. Thanks for the experience!"

  • "I had 3 out-of-state employees with me for a meeting. AZ/TX and MI-wanted to give them New England Seafood at it's best. Atlantic Fish did not disappoint-everything was fabulous!"

  • "My friend and I were visiting for the weekend and decided to eat seafood (of course). The clam chowder was excellent. The lobster bisque was excellent. The lobster diavalo was excellent. I was not disappointed by anything. The waiter even made a suggestion for our nextvfood adventure (a warm lobster roll)."

  • "We arrived in Boston late on a Friday night, and got great friendly service, and delicious tuna and swordfish. Mediterranean prepared swordfish and vegetables was especially interesting and luscious presentation."

  • "I was with a party of three. The wine we initially ordered was out of stock. I had the San Fran fish soups which was fair in taste. The soup was a bit tasteless and the lobster overcooked but the shrimp, fish and muscles were excellent. My friends had fish - Bass and Risotto. Both dished were excellent. Overall, the service was great and friendly. I would rate this as a good place for food but generally, a bit pricy for the meal. We spent $250 for the three of us."

  • "The clam chowder here must be the best in Boston. Our fish was fresh and well cooked. the service was remarkably attentive when you take into consideration how 'buzzing' the restaurant is, with a line at the door. Wine list was comprehensive and some reasonable prices too. We can't wait to go back."

  • "We had a wonderful experience at Atlantic Fish. The waiter was attentive, and made good suggestions. The quality and freshness of the fish was fantastic, and the menu was widely varied - including brunch items! We will definitely be repeat customers."

  • "The menu has at least 20 fresh fish and seafood choices, so many that it is hard to choose! Excellent preparation, sides, and service. We loved our entrees. We tried two soup options and they were good as well. The overall noise in the dining areas is energetic, it has a steak house type vibe. We will return next time we are traveling in Boston!"

  • "I ordered the special, Halibut, when it arrived it had clearly been under the heating lamps for some time. I should have sent it back but I was too jet-lagged to bother (I had just flown in from the UK). My wife's oysters were excellent."

  • "Extremely noisy. My friend and I had to yell to here each other."

  • "Mid-higher level restaurant. Wine menu was the highlight for me - very well chosen wine from old and new world including a a good dessert wine list. The food is great - the bread served is freshly baked - soft, moist, and warm. This applies to their bread bowl clam chowder which is served in the same wonderful bread. I've had Boudin's in San Francisco which I was thoroughly unimpressed by. Our server was courteous and the price of the meal was around $80 for two persons including wine and the extra bowl of clam chowder. We went during Dine Out Boston Week hence the $25 lunch menu. Great food and great price. Clean and good ambience."

  • "Fabulous food coupled with friendly and knowledgeable service made for an awesome evening. Try the stuffed haddock and the key lime pie. The filet was butter soft and cooked to perfection and our non-seafood diners raved about it. Best fish Ive had in any restaurant. Ever."

  • "My husband and I went here for our one year anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only thing was the lobster bisque was a bit more watery that we would have liked - but they totally made up for it with the entree. I had the lobster ravioli and it was delicious! They also surprised us with an on the house creme brule! very good! would definitely go again!"

  • "Fresh oysters, above average clam chowder, far from the best in Boston but good. The bread boule is much better when toasted with a crunch and not so doughy and chewy, but still not bad. We had a good crab cake. Swordfish piccata was tender and flavorful, grilled swordfish was tough on the outside and the rest of the plate was underwhelming. Ordered a bottle of chianti, took 15 minutes and they brought the wrong vintage, meaning they didnt update their list and/or didnt doublecheck the year before bringing it tableside. If my date hadnt really wanted chianti i wouldve sent it back. Great ambience, great style, knowledgable staff, and we received very polite service. I'll probably go back in the future to try some other things."

  • "Wonderful fish. Tuna tar tare appetizer is a winner along with sesame tuna, blackened scallops, halibut and lemon sole. Whenever in Boston come here."

  • "My wife and I visited Atlantic Fish for Dine Out (Restaurant Week) Boston. Lunch was superb, from the appetizers to the dessert! The service was great and everything was prepared perfectly."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "I have been to Atlantic Fish a few times. The food is also excellent (from the lobster bisque to all grilled fish to fried scallops). The only thing that is consistently out of synch with the sophistication of the restaurant is the way they remove the plates and utensils from the table once we are done. They are probably trying to be fast but it makes a very bad impression to pile up everything in front of you while making noise, as if we are in a pub or really casual tavern. It also ruins the elegance of the atmosphere and the meal (and the price) to clean the table in this way."

  • "The food was extremely delicious and I strongly recommend its Raw Bar dishes, very fresh. If you get there early it will be quiet and the service will be very good. At lunch time there will be full around 12:30."
