Diner Reviews
  • "The Atlantic Fish restaurant is more than a neighborhood gem -- it is a first class experience, one of the very best in Boston. While it has been discovered, and requires reservations well ahead, Atlantic Fish delivers a very high standard of service and a reliably excellent dining experience. Note: by using their own unique cart delivery system, anxiety about safe delivery to the table is reduced markedly, and the elegance of presentation is enhanced."

  • "I went to Atlantic Fish with my mom before heading off to the airport. We had to return a rental car, and so we were in a bit of a hurry. After telling our server this she made sure we knew exactly how long it would take to prepare some of the longer dishes and tried to get the kitchen to get them through to us extra quickly. Meanwhile, everything was still delicious. A fantastic meal."

  • "We have dined at many restaurants and Atlantic Fish is definitely one of our new favourites. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was outstanding. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely be back when in Boston."

  • "Came here on our trip to Boston and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and our server helped show us how to eat steamers, which we had never eaten before in Chicago. Great cocktails and great food."

  • "Noise level on a summer Wednesday evening at 7:30 onward, was very high. Our party of 4 had to yell at each other to be heard."

  • "Our first visit to Atlantic Fish. My husband had the oysters from the raw bar and loved them. He also had lobster. Very fresh and tasty. I had the chilean sea bass. Well seasoned! My daughter had the salmon. She enjoyed it, but felt it was a little over cooked. The clam chowder was also tasty. Will return!"

  • "The food was top notch. I had the sea bass. One of the best prepared fish dishes I've had the pleasure to enjoy. The Hubs had filet and lobster. His was good, but mine was the winner. Appetizer was lobster Louie. We didn't leave a crumb. Now for the true showstopper...the peppermint ice cream pie. No matter how full you think you are, there is room for this palate cleansing and truly pleasing dessert. Kristin was our server. Best we've ever had. She was a pro at interacting with each table in a way that met their tone and energy. Fun, quick, witty & helpful. There when you needed her, not when you didn't. Gave us at least a dozen tips of other great restaurants in the area. A real gem. I'd hire her to work in my business in a heartbeat."

  • "we visit Boston about 3 times per year for Red Sox games and we always go to Atlantic Fish - the best place in the Copley Square area."

  • "Atlantic Fish company never disappoints. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing! We tried the seafood pasta special, more seafood than pasta. Also, for a wine drinker the list here has a selection that is a true delight!"

  • "Food was great. The restaurant was walking distance from our hotel and near great area of Newbury St. Food was better than our expectation. We ended up going to the same restaurant for lunch the next day."

  • "Great lobster and very good value. As a lunch venue perfect. Shame no outsisde table as asked for on the open table site and far too much cutlery on the table. Also did not recognise birthday. That was a shame."

  • "We have eaten here before but this time we waited at the bar until there was an outside table. I chose the cod with lobster ravioli. It was superb. My wife had the lobster salad which was also superb. The ambiance is lively but the service is friendly and professional. I will be back on my next visit"

  • "I reserved a table via Open Table and was squeezed in a corner. The table was clearly split off another and did not have enough leg room, which made me wonder what was the point in reserving a table. The food and service was very good but I noticed every so often someone walking around clearly recording a survey, I guess all restaurants do this but not as obvious as this."

  • "Exceptional waiter Ryan and excellent food and dinner experience! We made a reservation and got our table just in the expected time. Only one complaint: I would expect more kindness from the hostess."

  • "I eat here once every 2 weeks. Neither myself, nor my dining companion, finished our meals because the seafood (2 very different dishes; sea bass vs. seafood platter) was very ordinary. This is the first time it has happened, but very disappointed in Atlantic Fish."

  • "It was the best clam chowder and filet mignon. Steak melted in your mouth. The prices were great."

  • "Outstanding restaurant in Back Bay area of Boston! Very busy. Probably the BEST clam chowder I've eaten. All portions of our meal were delicious. The sea bass with lobster ravioli will have me coming bac to this restaurant the next time I visit Boston. All courses were served very hot, which sort of surprised me with the open plate being rolled to the table on carts. Hadn't seen that before but they made it wor. Service from Glen was attentive with out being annoying. Highly recommend!"

  • "We had a great meal. Food was very good. Glen, our server, was good on the recommendations. The fish was fresh and well prepared. We dined outside on the sidewalk. Great for people watching."

  • "The waiter Jim was as good as it gets. Friendly knowledgeable and right on. appetizers were good except the clams casino came out burnt The lobster bisque and New England clam chowder were excellent. The dinners were mixed the mahi mahi was fabulous and the sides of mushrooms and corn pudding were real good. You must try. The corn pudding as it was exceptional. It is a combination of corn bread pudding and I'm not sure but just great. The problem was the lemon sole American out fairly cold and not great. The linguini with clam sauce was excellent. The steak was good except for a major section with fat in it. Over all pretty good but those few problems. The manager did buy deserts."

  • "The food was outstanding and the wait staff was great as well. The only thing is that it was a fairly hot evening and the A/C at this restaurant is terrible. Sweating during dinner was not pleasant."

  • "Went there on a Friday evening, had a 9 PM reservation, but it took them >20 minutes to seat us, and only because I complained to the hostesses (who were visibly overwhelmed...). The server was very friendly and efficient and did a great job. We shared a lobster - clam bake, it was ok, nothing special; the tuna appetizer was nice. Dessert choices were uninspired. It's a bustling, busy place, with decent food and service - noise level is real high, you might do much better for romantic dinner going to a place like McCormick and Schmick or Turner etc... but might be found with loud group."

  • "Had two lunches last week at Atl. Fish. First day everything including service was very good. Second lunch service was somewhat slow, but not to the point of being poor. Sampled many items and had no complaints, some more flavorful than others, but all good. Spring rolls appetizer were very good."

  • "Our dinner was wonderful. From the service to the ambiance and, of course the food, all was top notch. You must order the lobster ravioli and crab cake appetizers, they are not to be missed."

  • "It was either Legal or Atlantic in Boston for fresh seafood so we chose AFC. Decided to splurge and start with the $19 shrimp cocktail. We were immediately disappointed in both the "jumbo" size and quantity. Basically, $5 each for large shrimp. Fresh? Yes. Tasty? Yes. Six should have been the minimum. We already had chowder at Union Oyster so we went with the Bisque and Bass Chowder. Thought the Sea Bass Chowder would be a cream base but it wasn't . Not much info from a server who was basically mailing it in. The entrees, filet/lobster and Sea Bass W/ Lobster Ravioli were excellent, although the lobster tail was on the small side. I would probably try other places before going back but definitely worth a visit."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary on July 7th and planned to spend the day in Boston doing special things. A great dining experience was a must. I did some checking beforehand and found Atlantic Fish very well rated by Zagat and the meals were moderately priced so we booked noon time reservations. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent; the wait staff was attentive; the ambience was lively yet not intrusive to conversation. We have raved about it to our friends and would definitely return."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised by the massive menu. Anything I would have ever wanted was on this menu. The restaurant was absolutely packed. I had a 7 pm reservation. I got to the restaurant at 640 and was seated at 6:58. Right on time. The wait staff was knowledgeable and curtious. I was amazed how fast the food came out. I ordered surf and turf and my wife ordered scallops. Both meals were incredibly delicious. The crab and artichoke appitizer was incredible also. I would love to eat here again."
