  • "Outstanding restaurant in Back Bay area of Boston! Very busy. Probably the BEST clam chowder I've eaten. All portions of our meal were delicious. The sea bass with lobster ravioli will have me coming bac to this restaurant the next time I visit Boston. All courses were served very hot, which sort of surprised me with the open plate being rolled to the table on carts. Hadn't seen that before but they made it wor. Service from Glen was attentive with out being annoying. Highly recommend!"

  • "The waiter Jim was as good as it gets. Friendly knowledgeable and right on. appetizers were good except the clams casino came out burnt The lobster bisque and New England clam chowder were excellent. The dinners were mixed the mahi mahi was fabulous and the sides of mushrooms and corn pudding were real good. You must try. The corn pudding as it was exceptional. It is a combination of corn bread pudding and I'm not sure but just great. The problem was the lemon sole American out fairly cold and not great. The linguini with clam sauce was excellent. The steak was good except for a major section with fat in it. Over all pretty good but those few problems. The manager did buy deserts."

  • "Went there on a Friday evening, had a 9 PM reservation, but it took them >20 minutes to seat us, and only because I complained to the hostesses (who were visibly overwhelmed...). The server was very friendly and efficient and did a great job. We shared a lobster - clam bake, it was ok, nothing special; the tuna appetizer was nice. Dessert choices were uninspired. It's a bustling, busy place, with decent food and service - noise level is real high, you might do much better for romantic dinner going to a place like McCormick and Schmick or Turner etc... but might be found with loud group."

  • "It was either Legal or Atlantic in Boston for fresh seafood so we chose AFC. Decided to splurge and start with the $19 shrimp cocktail. We were immediately disappointed in both the "jumbo" size and quantity. Basically, $5 each for large shrimp. Fresh? Yes. Tasty? Yes. Six should have been the minimum. We already had chowder at Union Oyster so we went with the Bisque and Bass Chowder. Thought the Sea Bass Chowder would be a cream base but it wasn't . Not much info from a server who was basically mailing it in. The entrees, filet/lobster and Sea Bass W/ Lobster Ravioli were excellent, although the lobster tail was on the small side. I would probably try other places before going back but definitely worth a visit."

I did some checking beforehand and found Atlantic Fish very well rated by Zagat and the meals were moderately priced so we booked noon time reservations. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent; the wait staff was attentive; the ambience was lively yet not intrusive to conversation. We have raved about it to our friends and would definitely return."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised by the massive menu. Anything I would have ever wanted was on this menu. The restaurant was absolutely packed. I had a 7 pm reservation. I got to the restaurant at 640 and was seated at 6:58. Right on time. The wait staff was knowledgeable and curtious. I was amazed how fast the food came out. I ordered surf and turf and my wife ordered scallops. Both meals were incredibly delicious. The crab and artichoke appitizer was incredible also. I would love to eat here again."

  • "It was my 3rd month anniversary with my girlfriend, so I wanted it to be romantic. We were given a table by the window and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We were very happy with the service and the selection of wines. We ordered a grouping of seafood appetizers including shrimp cocktail, oysters and New England clam chowder. All were excellent. We then ordered blackened swordfish as an entree to share. We were both very disappointed with this as it was really lacking in taste."

  • "My husband and I took our son (18mos) here for an early bird dinner. It was terrible weather outside which must have drawn other people in early as well. The restaurant was lively but not overcrowded. This is a fan favorite so we went in expecting great things as always. We started with apps - chowder and caesar salad. Delicious. For dinner we both got the seafood risotto. The shrimp and scallops had great flavor but the risotto was bland with zero flavor. This experience was average but it won't deter me from returning. This restaurant is one of the best in the Back Bay. It's not one to miss - great food and great atmosphere. I made reservations months in advance just to be sure that we got a table."

Scallops cooked to perfection but lobster tail a little tough. Risotto was excellent. Flourless chocolate torte (forgot name of it) was delicious without being too sweet."

Great service and ambiance, but the seafood left something to be desired; the lobster bisque and crab cake were good, as was the crab-stuffed lobster tail, but I guess we were expecting a bit more fabulous for a place that had such high praise. We also ordered the filet mignon and were more impressed by it than any other part of our meal; it was cooked to perfection, tender and quite flavorful. A little disappointed we seemed to be the only table not given a bread basket (we were starving!), but the perfectly-crafted Old Fashioned cocktail made up for it. I probably would try something else the next time to get my lobster fix, but would go back for a nice steak."

  • "We were very surprised that inland city restaurant would have such spectacular cold fish platters. The cold lobster was sweet and bursting out of the shell. The shrimp were pink, large and bursting with flavor. It is a medium size restaurant with a bar and outside patio. The ambiance is perfect with white table cloths and dark wood. Our server was great. We live in the back bay and considered going back the next day for lunch."
