Diner Reviews
  • "I have been dining at The Atlanta Fish Market regularly for years. It's open throughout the day and has a wide variety of well-prepared fish and enough other entrees to make everyone even in a large party of various ages happy. The service is almost always friendly and efficient. I consider it a reliable favorite. This past Monday I again had a lovely dinner with a friend there. Unfortunately, I felt a bit rushed. The server, although she told us to take all the time we wished, seemed anxious to "turn" the table. At lunch if I were going back to work this might be welcome. At dinner it was not. We proceeded to take the 2 hours we needed to eat and converse."

  • "This visit was not on par with our past visits. The waitress seemed hurried and distracted. The food was ok but missing somthing."

  • "We had reservations and still had to wait 10 minutes on a Sunday evening. We were first seated in a less than desirable table right next to the waiting area and kitchen. When pressed, we were moved to a better table. Service was inconsistent, placed seemed very frantic and impersonal. Our waitress did her best to be personable and take the edge off. However, everything tok too long from drinks to appetizer. They were also out of the two things I wanted- Sea Bass and another seafood staple. Overall the food was good. With that said, it wasn't really worth the hassle of drive, crowdedness, and the inconstant service. $120 for 3 drinks, appetizer and two dinners. Just OK."

  • "I really enjoyed my experience at the Atlanta Fish Market, I just took my husband this past weekend fo rhis birthday, he really loves seafood, and we did come with a party of 8. Some of my party had not arrived at the time of schedule reservation but the staff was very patient and nice and even held our table for us until everyone arrived, once being seated they explained the menu for the ones that had never been there before and was very prompt about getting everything out ot us, and most of all the food was DELICIOUS!!! I defintely would recommend this resturant to anyone that wanted some amazing seafood and a enjoyable experience out."

  • "Consistently excellent. Enjoyed the Scottish Salmon - great flavor, fresh, perfectly paired with sides. Also had the spicy calamari - one of my favorites. Tried sushi - it was also very good - first time sushi eaters in the group enjoyed it. The George's scallops were the best - very tasty, cooked just right."

  • "I had high hopes for AFM after hearing people talk about it. Once we arrived I realized it's a very touristy restaurant. Giant inside and tries to be too many things (e.g., restaurant, bar, and sushi bar). Food was just okay and way overpriced. There are better options in ATL."

  • "Both the seafood and sides were great! I ordered the scallops (prepared with a meuniere sauce which was recommended by our server; I cannot imagine it better any other way) with veggies and mashed potatoes. They obviously used a heavy cream in the mashed potatos which made them even better! My husband ordered the blackened halibut with grits and mashed sweet potatos (which were like a dessert). I started with a Caesar salad which was also very good...tangy like I think a Caesar should be. My husband was really not dissapointed at all with his choice, but was jealous of my dish...he will order scallops next time. I may order the crabcakes which were highly recommended!"

  • "The Atlanta Fish Market continues to be a destination restaurant. The room was full and the guests kept coming! Our waitress was knowledgeable and efficient, the food presentation appealing and we paired it with a nice bottle of white Burgundy wine. For special occasions and fish lovers."

  • "AFM was overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend it to other people. It's not a place I would come regularly but definitely a every now and then type of place. The service was stellar and the food was very authentic and tasteful."

  • "We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary and the service was not very good. The food was great but the service was barely adequate. We had to ask for bread, ask for plates for the appetizers as well as a plate to put the shells from the lobster on. I even had to ask for the hot towel after finishing the lobster. We were very disappointed with our server. Can't fault the food though - that's consistent."

  • "Due to its prices, the Atlanta Fish Market is really only a place I go for special occasions. However, I am never disappointed and the service was even better than usual. I highly recommend for seafood lovers and romantic dinners!"

  • "The food was great as is usually the case. We have dined here many times. The service was a little off this night. I ordered a cup of the seafood gumbo and it never came. I was not charged for it so at least the waiter recognized that I did not receive it. No apology for missing the soup, no acknowledgement at all except its absence on the bill. otherwise I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "If you like seafood for the Tate of seafood, then this place is great. You pay for the variety of options and freshness. The food is not overpowered by sauces and seasoning so you're looking for inventive dishes, this is not the place."

  • "We were not finished with our appetizers when our main course was served. When we protested, the head waiter responded that since the kitchen was running out of swordfish, the order had to be submitted. That is ridiculous! Waiter served an entire bottle of wine to the 4 of us in one go! Then pushed to have us order another bottle! Espresso was served in diner mugs! It was cold & it was an insulting experience to have been served this way! Never returning!"

  • "Bar service was excellent. Drink prices seamed wrong a more expensive bottle was priced less than less expensive. Muscles were awesome. Had the stuffed flounder and my partner had seafood newburg, I would rate them 5 out of 5."

  • "The seafood is always great and fresh. They have a wide ranging selection of seafood and preparations."

  • "The food was good and service the same. Restaurant needs to be updated and repairs done, for example, you could see that the material at the bottom of most chairs was ripped and hanging down."

  • "As usual the food couldn't had been any better, however for the amount of people that was there it seem to take the server longer than usual to check on us and for the womens restroom, my daugther said it was completely filthy and would not use it."

  • "This is one of the best seafood restaurants in Atlanta. Diverse seafood menu and great food! We were seated immediately upon arriving (we had a reservation) and the service was excellent. It's a little noisy and not good if you're looking for a romantic spot. But if you want great seafood with good service, this is the spot."

  • "We had a reservation at 6:30 on a Friday and were seated right away in the back of the restaurant which may have been a little quieter - still busy but we had no trouble having conversation with the four of us at the table. My partner and I shared the Big Steamer of 1.5 lbs Crab Legs and very yummy creamy mash potatoes and green beans (in addition to soup and salad appetizers and bread basket). The waiter was attentive and treated us to desserts since we were celebrating a couple of life events. We stayed for over 3 hours and never felt rushed to clear the table. $2 valet parking. I hadn't been to AFM in 14 years and will definitely go back again this year. Huge menu. The other couple had seafood a'gratin and flounder. Thumbs up"

  • "I had dinner there with my girlfriend and the rest of my family on a Monday night. The food was generally very good, but the service was not great. We had to wait 20 minutes for the final person in our party to show up. We had brought two bottle of wine so we just stood there while each customer tried to check in. I understand that its the policy, but we're just trying to sit down and order some appetizers, it really would have benefited AFM. Then when we finally sat down, it took another 15-20 minutes for the waiter to come around. He promised bread and to be back with some bread. The bread came with our meal and the water took another 10 minutes. He was overloaded so it's not his fault, but we waited 1 hr before we had anything."
