Everything is excellent, from the service to the presentations and flavors. It is easily the best restaurant in the city and certainly amongst the top in the country. Although molecular gastronomy won't appeal to everyone, if you're adventurous and up for a splurge, you'll be rewarded with some of the most interesting and tasty food possible.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAtelier May 8the building & the interior is simply decorated, even plain. there isn't even a sign outside, just a number on the door indicating you are at the correct address. this restaurant is all about the food & service. It features a 12 course set menu that is changed every month or so. each course progressing from light tasty soups and salads to more robust meats and game - all served in small portions but don't worry, you'll be full by the end of the evening. we opted for the wine pairing feature which allowed for 2 ounces of 10 different wines arriving with each respective dish. The pairings were perfectly matched, the food & service was 5 star. perfect for special occasions.

The service was outstanding, food amazing and the wine pairing exquisite. We have recommended it to others who we believe would appreciate the unique food experience.

The portions are just the right size not to big but big a enough fo you to enjoy each meal. I was happy and sad of getting my last meal. An experience that is truly one-of-a-kind in Ottawa. Staff were very friendly, kitchen extremely accommodating to this GF guest. Overheard other guests with dislikes and allergies also being kindly accommodated in interesting ways. For example, instead of the requisit bread, I was given endless quantities of truffled popcorn. Good for small groups, it was a cozy dinner as entertainment. Our meal took about 4 hours, it was a blind tasting of 12 courses with a wine tasting.
