  • "My husband and I only had one night to spend in the French Quarter, and we had a long lost of restaurants to choose from. We decided to drive away from our hotel and visit Atchafalaya for many reasons (including the appearance of the restaurant on American Horror Story:Coven and stellar reviews). We were not disappointed. In fact we were impressed by the rustic, elegant ambiance (seems like an oxymoron, but you will understand when you visit). The food was exceptional. I was raised in New Orleans and lived there the first 30 years of my life. It is rare to find a restaurant that blends sensational food with a sense of homey comfort! My recommendations: the scallops and the drum. My hudband's recommendation: the andouille gumbo! Fantastic!"

  • "The menu piques your interests. Our off menu specials choices were flavorful and presented well , the sides were unique, and lingered just long enough for the next bite. The cocktails,very imaginative, the wine list not too lengthy. The jar sitting on the bar reminded me of a typical NOLA dive, of my youth. Were they offering pickled eggs at the bar? Surprisingly it was infused Jalapeno Tequila! Don't pass up any cocktail mixed with it. The food at Atchafalaya's was memorable so was the service."

  • "Took a business colleague here for dinner. The restaurant sits in a typical old New Orleans neighborhood. Very quaint and authentic. Very good food with fresh ingredients and not overly seasoned. Loved the Freeform Crab Ravioli appetizer. Also the fingerling potatoes and all the seafood. I definite "must" for an authentic NOLA meal. I recommend this place highly."

  • "I always enjoy my meal at Atchafalaya. This time was no exception. The 12 oz filet mignon was perfectly cooked and very tender. Had the espresso brownie for dessert. While it was a good hit of chocolate, I was underwhelmed by the presentation and quantity. I shared this with my daughter so that meant 1 teaspoon of accompanying ice cream for each of us. Not an appropriate ice cream portion. Also, added an open table note that I was celebrating a wedding anniversary, yet no mention was made of it at dinner. Why ask for the comment in the first place? Overall, our meals were what really mattered, though, and the filet gets a 10 and the swordfish gets a 7 (over cooked even after requesting it medium rare)."

  • "Group had not seen each other for many years. We wanted a place where we could gather and catch up and have a delicious lunch. We found just that the Atchafalaya. Everyone said the fish tacos were delicious. I have a mushroom spinach omelette it was amazing! So light and fluffy with great flavors. I waitstaff was so nice. We loved some bloody Mary bar and the bartender was adorable. Inside, it was so cozy and fun and we love the decor. The menu was so interesting and I will definitely come back so that I can sample some of the other dishes."

The chef , Chris Lynch , is rocketing to fame as a Food Network star , yet the restaurant still retains it's nieghborhood funky feeling and charm while serving delicious meals. The menu is wonderful, our server answered every question without hesitation and made excellent suggestions. How they pair items together is truly unique. the flavors are amazing.   • "Our second meal at Atchafalya. We we worried; our first meal here was so good. We should not have been concerned. The second visit was equally as good as the first. The bar serves interesting cocktails and is a great place for a drink before dinner. Dinner was excellent. The ravioli melts in your mouth. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever had. The entrees were all superb - perfectly cooked steak, moist and flavorful fish. Excellent. We were not disappointed and we will be back."

  • "There is a lot of buzz about this restaurant, and while the brunch was tasty and the service was great it's not a location for everyone on a Sunday. The live band inside the small restaurant was extremely loud and people waiting for tables jammed up the entrance, so if you have a hangover be forewarned. Be prepared to wait for a table on Sunday even if you have a reservation, as it is their busiest brunch day and tables linger after eating. They serve brunch Thursday - Sunday if you want a less busy day to enjoy their creole breakfast fare."

  • "Atchafalaya is one of my favorite restaurants and I highly recommend it to anyone usually. On Sunday, my party of 5 had a reservation for Brunch and had a nice time. 2-3 minutes after signing a $200+ ticket, we were asked to leave by the hostess so that they could serve another party. We were appalled. It appeared as if we were no longer welcome after we signed our check. It is with deep regret that I will not be returning to Atchaflaya for brunch. I am extremely disappointed in the service received, especially because my party respected the restaurant and placed a reservation in advance."

  • " Went for saturday brunch because they have live music. Couldn't hear it over all the loud diners. After 50 minutes, asked our waiter if the kitchen had lost our order. He said he didn't think so, but he'd check. Served shortly after that. My order of pork that the waiter said was his personal favorite was only mediocre. Le Patois nearby was a much better choice for brunch the next day."
