Diner Reviews
  • "It is rare these days to find a quiet restaurant where you can actually visit with a friend without raising your voice. The food and wine were excellent! We chose the special for that evening, the risotto, salmon and asparagus. Absolutely delicious!! Our waiter was friendly and served us with a smile. This place is a gem and we will definitely be going back soon."

  • "Both the food and service have been great every time we have been there. Very consistent."

  • "Asti has become our new local place to go for a night out. Food is spot-on homemade, service is always good, and the ambience allows for quiet conversation without yelling over people and music. Love that it is locally owned as well!"

  • "Staff were very attentive and polite. Atmosphere was cozy and well-done with nice lighting and moderate noise. Food was great---about what you would expect for the price. Service a touch slow---took about 40 minutes for our main course. Pretty warm inside, about 76-78 degrees, but that's my only real complaint."

  • "It was a five-star experience from the moment we walked in the door until we left. The service, the food, the ambiance left you with the feeling of wanting to come back. I hope this restaurant makes it."

  • "Enjoyed the food very much. Had the mussels app and the Mahi Mahi for dinner. Both were delish. Tony, our waiter was exceptional, as my visit was a reunion with a family member I hadn't seen in 20 years. He was quick, unobtrusive and polite while we caught up."

  • "This was our 2nd visit to the restuarant. The service and food were good. The atmosphere is nice. We've always had good meals here. The only problem this time was that 2 of our dining companions complained that their chicken was a bit "rubbery" and the waiter had no response. We were not asking for the meals to be comped but some sort of response from the waiter."

  • "We enjoyed a very nice dinner with friends. A little pricy for italian, but very good."

  • "We were stunned that they had an extremely limited beer selection. We realize it is an Italian restaurant but my husband prefers beer to wine. food was flavorful but service was not stellar. We were brought one carafe of water the entire evening for four diners. We had a lengthy dinner as we were visiting with friends. After our bill was paid, no one checked on us."

  • "The food at Asti D' Italia was incredible. The Braised Beef Risotto may be the best bite of food I've had in the past year. It was amazing. Love the wine selection too. Service was acceptable but I wasn't blown away. My only complaints are with the ala carte pricing, and that they are stingy with the bread."

  • "We were surprised when we arrived to see the owner at the front desk texting on his cell phone. We decided to have a glass of wine in the bar before dinner and both the bartender and a server were also texting on their cell phones. When we were ready to order a second glass of wine in the bar the bartender was hosting so we waited and waited. A server came behind the bar to use his cell phone that was charging under the counter and did not even acknowledge us. We moved to the dining room where we received horrible service because our server disappeared through the entire 3 course meal. He did not even do a quality check. Food was decent, bus boys were excellent. Would not return for the price, lack of service and just decent food."

  • "Reviews that we read before our dinner at d'Asti Italia made us aware that we were in for a more-than-typical experience. There are gems among the many, new 'marketplace' or 'town center' settings to be found today, and this would definitely be one of them. I count my duck confit with potato gnocchi as second (to a cafe in Paris) on my all-time list of duck dishes and a golden beet salad (though just a tad lacking in terms of beets) as very good...the vanilla bean vinaigrette excellent . Service was very good, and David's advice on entrees was spot on."

  • "Went for Valentines. Service was exceptional and the food very good. Tables were a bit close to each other (we were able to hear conversations of surrounding tables). Didn't distract from the mood, it is a nice place."

  • "So much better than the chain restaurant that suround it. The food is excellent."

  • "This was our first time at Asti D'Italia and it was ok. The appetizer (gnocchi) had a whopping 5 pieces for $9.99. The salad was good but also $9.00. The entree's were delicious and I have no complaints there. We had two drinks each and after all was said and done, the bill for two was $135.00, $155.00 with the tip. So all in all it's a bit pricey for what you get in our opinion. If you have the dough to blow, it's a fun little place. Our waiter was great and was very knowledgeable. We would go back, but not too frequently as we are not Doctors or Lawyers."

  • "We try to go to Asti's at least once a month. Of course we were concerned about spending our wedding anniversary on Valentines by dining out. But true to form, Charlie, the owner, and his fabulous staff didn't miss a beat. The food, ambiance, service, everything was fabulous. Thanks to all of them for a great evening!"

  • "This is our new favorite place to go for a special night out. I am always impressed with the food, whether I eat something simple like penne and sausage or their free form seafood ravioli. I recommend the risotto dishes they change up often. The staff is great and know their wines. A wonderful little gem in the Orchards. Just go!"

  • "Met up with my friend for an evening of girl talk and catching up. We wanted a place that was quiet and where we would not be hurried. Asti D'Italia met all our expectations. While I've dined there several times, this was her first time at the restaurant. It was a weeknight (Wednesday) and we never felt rushed. Had anyone been waiting for a table, we would definitely have given up the table. This is a nice place to go in the north area."

  • "We, again, enjoyed our dining experience at Asti D'Italia. We could visit with our guests and take our time without feeling any pressure. It was snowing and the ambiance was very sweet and made us all feel like we were somewhere far away. Food was delicious. Mussels are wonderful. Seafood is fresh. The chef's specials are fabulous. Good wine list. Yes, we will be back again."

  • "Overall my meal was good, the wife's turned out pretty good and she really liked what she ordered. The dessert was in house made and it was really good. I felt my dish "Penne with Italian Sausage Ragu" was good but a little bland. My wife and I both felt this was a good place to try out since we have never been and that is able all. I do not believe I would go back, but the only reason is because of the cost. My wife and I spend $107 before tip, and for it just be okay pasta dishes does not cut it for me at that cost."

  • "We went to just have a couple appetizers and a dessert. We ordered mussels and the anti-pasta platter. Both were excellent and we especially liked the anti-pasta platter because it was so big. At most restaurants, they are very small bites. We ordered their Chocolate Temptation cake for dessert and once again, we were very impressed. It was delicious and large enough to share and we left very full. It was a nice date and we will go back for sure."

  • "This was our first time at the restaurant. It was a birthday dinner for our daughter, and included her husband and their three children (ages 12, 12, and 14), as well as Grandma and Grandpa, It could not have been more special. The restaurant's menu is Italian. The preparation, seasoning, and taste were distinctively different (better) than the typical Italian restaurant, The attention to service was outstanding, A treasure located in a shopping center."

  • "We went to asti.d'italia for my birthday. When he came to our table, he didn't tell us of any specials. He asked what he could get started for us and I told him our drink order and he asked what we wanted for dinner and I told him we would start with the potato gnocchi and he Also asked for our dinner order, he should have brought our drinks and then taken our food order. When he brought the wine flights he mumbled the names of the wines so we weren't sure what we were drinking. The steak was tough, I've made better steaks at home. I was disappointed. For roughly $75, I went home hungry after eating all of the food we ordered.dinner wasn't as good this time around and I felt rushed and I hate that. I'm hesitant to go back again"

  • "Great restaurant to escape to. Not many choices in the north area for a nice restaurant for a special occasion so we are so pleased Asti has made it. It is also wonderful food. The chef does a magnificent job preparing specials. The staff is great - they let you dine and not rush you. Favorite of ours!"

  • "The convenient location and promising menu brought us into Asti. Prices were very high for mediocre food that lacked flavor. The lettuce in the salads was not crisp and fresh, and the Capellini Caprese had no flavor. The saving grace was the good service. We may try it again for appetizers and skip the expensive dinner."

  • "Asti D' Italia is a top quality operation. It's hard to imagine anyone could leave after their visit thinking they'd made a mistake in choosing Asti D' Italia. The staff works hard; they're on top of things. Tony knows how to keep his diners satisfied, and from what I've seen and heard around me when there, diner satisfaction is the driving objective of this restaurant."

  • "A wonderful gem in our backyard. Cloth table cloths? Not a chain? Fine food? Great wine list? Really ...along the I25 corridor? Is that still possible? You bet! One of our favorites. Consistently good service and great food. If you want authentic Italian food for a special occassion or just to grab a bite give this place a try.........it won't dissapoint you."

  • "It was my wife's 30th birthday. I made the reservation via Open Table and when we arrived we were almost immediately greeted by the owner. He said our table was ready and took us to it. There were the flowers I have ordered in advance for my wife. Everything looked great. We shared some delicious plate with cold meats, olives and cheese. The menu portions were plenty for us, she had chicken and I had the duck. Both were tasty although not great. We finished with some truffles and a couple of sweet martinis that were a bit on the strong side. We had a great time. The background music is just at the right volume for conversation. All other patrons seemed to enjoy themselves as well. Overall I will recommend this place to everyone!"

  • "Went for a date night out, only to find the restaurant was under staffed and could not hold up with the moderately full restaurant. Had to ask host to get water after sitting at table for 5 minutes with waiters passing by our table and no one stopping to say hello and ask for our drink order. Not a welcoming feeling. Food was good quality, and once we got a server (when he wasn't getting pulled in a different direction), things got a little better. I would go again for the food - but probably won't, due to the overall poor service. Disappointing..."

  • "We chose to visit Asti for the first time and overall the experience was good. The mussels were fabulous! So we're my Atlantic salmon and my boyfriend's risotto. No complaints there and the favors are definitely enough of a draw to bring us back. The service was good for most of the meal, but fell off just a bit between dinner and gelato. Not a deal breaker, but noticeable... We will be going again for sure..."
