The vegetable soups are fabulous - no cream, made in house daily, and sooo good. Wanted to add salmon or chicken to a salad and make that my entree, but they said no. (Note to restaurant - this would be a good idea!). Had the panini instead. Soup - great, salad - great, panini - so so. Everyone had wonderful pasta dishes that satisfied our carb craving. In addition, the bread was crusty on the outside and delicious. The waitress was exceptional! The food and service is always remarkable. All three of us are always pleased. Wilson, our waiter, always recommends a wonderful wine for dinner (also seems to remember our last choice). Our time and money are always well spent at this restaurant. The owner makes his rounds to every table and speaks to everyone at the table, (including our 10 year old son). The meatball appetizer on a bed of spinach, although still very good, was not quite as good as, and the amount of spinach was less than, on a previous occasion. The chestnut tagliatelle with rabbit ragout were still very good, but we thought they were outstanding on a previous occasion. We've lived in Mclean for 30+ years & until a couple of years ago, had no idea we had such a gem in our backyard! The food is wonderful & is consistently so and the service is outstanding - everyone is very friendly! The Seafood Cioppino is full of flavor and really delicious - I like mine on the spicy side and they always accommodate. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his duck dish & our friend had the seafood rissoto special -OMG, it was one of the best I've ever tasted - so creamy, so flavorful, so ridiculously yummy! Will definitely keep an eye out for that dish! We shared the Calamari Fritti, which is really good and not greasy or overly breaded. We were very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive, efficient and professional. The ambiance was lovely. All the dishes we had were perfectly prepared and (what surprised us the most)light in use of fats. In spite of quite big portions we weren't feeling stuffed by the end of the meal, but felt a great satisfaction in quality of the food and service.
