  • "This is a place listed as go to prior to PPAC show and I agree. Valet parking and leave your car until after the show for no extra charge. They have a good theatre menu that is reasonably priced with good choices. We enjoyed all three courses. Wait staff were quick and attentive. We would definitely go back."

  • "I saw a picture on line but did not expect it to be as well appointed as it was. The decor was lovely, the menu choices excellent and the wait staff very attentive. We were seated and given ample time to order and dine and still take a very short walk to the theatre in plenty of time for the show. A nice bonus was being able to have the valet parked car remain there while we went to the show and pick the car up afterwards. I ordered the butternut squash soup which was delicious and the ribeye steak which was tender and cooked as I had ordered. Our table overlooked the outdoor dining area which I cannot wit to return to in better weather to dine outside. It was a very pleasurable dining experience!"

  • "I have frequented Aspire on quite a few occasions but probably will go back only for brunch. Quality of food is slipping and menu is limited and rather boring."

  • "We love eating here before heading to PPAC for an amazing show. I love that we can come in at 6pm order of their special theater menu. The food comes quickly and then if we choose we can return for dessert after the show. A delightful bonus is the free valet parking."

  • "If you want quality food, excellent service in a "no rush" atmosphere Aspire is the place to go. This was not our first visit to Aspire nor will it be our last. It has always been a great positive experience."

  • "My wife and I ate at Aspire this week. Aspire has a great wine list, excellent staff, and delicious food. They were even nice enough to store our food during the show."

  • "We enjoyed the food, ordering from the price-fixe theater menu. My only complaint is that the prices are a little steep, which means we would only go there for special occasions. The portion sizes were good, not skimpy but not excessive like so many places. Steak frites and statler chicken were excellent. The chocolate decadence cake was superb. We were planning on listening to a musical group perform there. The dining area is a long room perpendicular to the bar where the musicians perform. We started our meal in the dining room. The hostess and our waiter managed to move us to a good table in the bar area where we could enjoy the music and they brought our dessert there. The staff was great. Next time, we'll reserve in bar area."

  • "This was an excellent start of our celebration of my daughter's 18th birthday. The server was personable and helpful. The food was wonderful and we were on time for our theatre reservation."

  • "I loved sitting on the beautiful velvet bench under the huge, stunning chandeliers. The room was romantic and the service attentive, but non-intrusive. Very romantic. The food was good, but not great."

  • "Food was over priced and over cooked. Bread was brought out finally a whole 5 minutes before our apps. You could break a tooth, they were so hard. My chicken was dry. The server brought the wrong dessert. They obviously pre decorate the plates as the raspberry sauce was no longer a liquid but tacky. You can't pretend to be an high class restaurant and cut corners this way. Not to mention the fact that I never got my correct dessert and the chocolate cake I did receive was previously frozen. A waste of money."

  • "I experienced two appetizers, two entrees, and some extremely expensive drinks. The menu was boring, the food was too salty and oily, and a vodka soda will cost you twelve dollars. Its almost funny how terrible the place was, and on top of everything it takes a lot of nerve to charge their prices for what you receive. NEVER WILL RETURN!!!!!!"

  • "We had a lovely brunch here before the 2:00 show at the PPAC. The setting is lovely. We also love select off the menu brunch food. We really dislike the all you can eat fixed price menus,(way to much food). The service was very good, not rushed, but attentive. We We loved sitting there watching it snow in the park and will return in the Summer for the lovely out door dining."

  • "Aspire is located in the Hotel Providence and is an easy walk (several blocks) from the RI convention center. The dining room has striking decor with gorgeous crystal chandeliers. This time, we sat in the dining section adjoining the bar, which has a less formal feel but also has nice ambiance. The food - and in particular the rigatoni with sausage and mozzarella cheese - was just right - perfect satisfying texture. It was somewhat quiet for a Saturday night. Honestly, I think this restaurant is under-rated because it is in a hotel, but it is as good as most other Providence restaurants and worth a try. Starting around 9 pm on Saturday, there was live entertainment (Strictly Sinatra) - it was quite good and not obtrusive to conversation."

  • "I was reluctant to book a dinner reservation at Aspire due to the negative online reviews I read. However the menu & location close to PPAC lured me in. I am so glad I gave Aspire a try because I had a wonderful dining experience there. Everyone from the hostess to the manager were friendly & welcoming. I dined with 3 other people that night and all of us had terrific meals which were not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious as well. Our waiter Mike was attentive and personable. Our water glasses were always promptly refilled. The manager came over to check on us and seemed very attentive. There was just the right timing between courses which allowed us to get to our show as scheduled. I'd recommend Aspire for sure!"

  • "There were six of us for dinner before a show. There was not enough time for dessert and we were invited back after the show for some. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. The food was very good too."

  • "Conveniently located a block from PPAC Aspire offers a Theatre menu. We opted to order off of their regular menu, and arrived early enough (5:30pm for an 8:00pm show) to have an enjoyable dinner prior to the performance."

  • "The food was excellent. I would highly recommend it. We had the theatre menu and it was delicious. The only downfall was that when I called and asked for time recommendations to make the theater on time I was given a time that was much too early. We had over an hour to wait before the play. It would have been fine if the weather had been good as you could have walked around the area."

  • "The restaurant is in a very nice downtown hotel and very close to the theater. They do a great job in catering to the theater crowd with valet parking so you can keep your car there through dinner and the show. They have a prix fix menu for theater goers at a reasonable price and with very good service so that you're not late for the show. Our meal was good and everything went smoothly. I wouldn't mind going back there on another night to sample the regular menu without the rush of going to a show. Overall, very good."

  • "Came for dinner prior to theater with a group of girlfriends. We had fabulous wine and dinner was terrific. Service good too. Would definitely return."

  • "Dinner before the theater. Allocated 1 3/4 hours for dinner. Despite telling the waiter at the outset we were attending the show, had to have the hostess find our waiter for the check and we hadn't received dessert yet so we wouldn't be late. As for the food, 45 minutes after ordering, we are told there was a problem in the kitchen and one of our dishes was no longer available and would we accept the chicken dish. The staler chicken was dry and without spice, rather bland. The ROASTED KABOCHA SQUASH, spaghetti squash, coconut, garam masala, kale was uninspiring and over cooked The creme brûlée finally arrived, ice cold with the fruit caramelized in place. We had expected a freshly prepared, flavorful dinner got reheated hotel food."

  • "Salmon-overlooked, fried kale was in a puddle of oil, Red velvet torte was so dry it was inedible. Server was SO nice, but clueless...took my husband's late away while he still had food on it and was holding his fork...then my friend was still very much eating, but he had cleared all other plates and asked her if she was done. We finished our bottle of wine before dinner came and he never asked if ewe anted another bottle...which we would have ordered."

  • "We had the New Years Eve dinner menu. It was outstanding. Food was exceptional. The only issue was we had our enter out of order with our other food. It wasn't a problem however. The ambience, music, cocktails and food were all great. The waitress was wonderful and most accomodating especially waiting on so many tables."

  • "Limited food choses. One beef selection. Dry and somewhat chuie. Served with french fries only. Plate cold which at these prices should be at least warmed. Will not return, but it was very close to PPAC. Will try another eatery next time."

  • "Having dined at Aspire before we were excited to see what the five course tasting menu would hold. From the first plate to the last - everything was excellent! Our waiter, Louis was fantastic! He took the time to explain each dish, each wine that was paired with a plate, and to check in on us. He spaced out our courses perfectly allowing us to enjoy the entire evening at the restaurant. Aspire did a wonderful job setting a nice atmosphere for a perfect way to ring in the new year. I would highly suggest this restaurant for NYE or a nice nite out."

  • "Aspire accomodated 6 of us before it's New Year's Eve bash. The wait staff was professional and friendly. Service took a little long but we were there for the fun and happy not to be rushed, Salmon and pork dishes were wonderful. Midori martini and inexpensive wine were terrific. We would be happy to return."

  • "Caught dinner (4:45 reservation) prior to Sunday evening show (6:30) at PPAC. Not sure if they were short-staffed or just harried, but it was an odd dinner. Seated promptly and ordered drinks/cocktails and food at same time. Waiter had good communication/expectation management regarding food/timing. Waited about 15 minutes for drinks, and inquired. Wife's soup arrived without spoon, taking another 5 minutes. Drinks finally arrived with main course, but hot drink was cold, and waiter explained the bar was too stressed to go to kitchen to heat it (?!?). The soup, salad, and entrée were all absolutely fantastic, however, and we would eat here again to see if this was just uneven service. They did proactively comp the incorrect drink."

  • "Went there prior to PPAC. They are set up for this and manage it well. Valet the car and walk two blocks to theater after eating. Walk back from play, sit for an after theater drink and rehash of the performance and your car is ready and waiting to drive home."
    Dined on 12/26/2013
  • "Three (3) minute walk to the PPAC (Providence Performing Arts Center). We went to the 2:00PM show at the PPAC. Valet parked the car BEFORE the show and went to dinner AFTER the show. While dining the restaurant got busier with diners who were going to the 8 PM PPAC performance. Great dining experience. Limited menu....so we suggest you look at the menu before making your reservation. Contemporary restaurant....."

  • "We went there to dine before going to PPAC to see the Phantom. We say down around 5:45 and almost immediately ordered from the theatre menu. We walked out around 7:05 without getting our good because we had to get to the play. One of the worst experiences we have had in a restaurant. We were not alone. Many other patrons had to leave without eating. It will be a long time before I go back to Aspire"

  • "The waitstaff here needs serious help. Hostess was friendly, but our waitress was scarce. Received wrong dinners from the waitstaff, waited too long for our dessert. The maitre'd was unhelpful, although our waitress was gratious enough to cover our drinks. The food itself was good, except for my husband's overcooked steak (almost inedible). I received the wrong dinner, but accepted because of time constraints . Waitstaff was rude, referred to me and my husband as "you guys," not in an endearing way. Atmosphere strained - a lot of tables had people attending 7:00 and 7:30 shows, and were cancelling dishes and desserts because of delays. Took forever to get the check, and to get our credit card back. Almost missed out 7:30 show start"
    Dined on 11/29/2013
  • "The waitstaff definitely didn't like us and my salmon was bland. My husbands food was good though. For the prices we were paying we expected more. Wouldn't go again"

  • "My wife and I love this place especially before attending a performance at one of the local theatres. They know how to make you feel comfortable and not rushed while still getting you out in plenty of time to get to your show. Food is fantastic! Wine list is fairly extensive. Wait staff is very attentive. Highly recommend this spot for a date night."

  • "I've left a detailed review on yelp, horrible service. Our waiter ruined our night and management did nothing about it."
    Dined on 11/29/2013
  • "Waitress was fine. Other wait staff were terrible. Picked up wine glasses before wine delivered. Picked up plates long before everyone was done eating. Water guy unprofessional in his duties. Wait staff needs significant training."

  • "My wife and I chose this restaurant since it was next to our hotel. We were blown away with this restaurant. The food was awesome and very tasty. The caesar salad was big enough for two. The calamari was tasty. The dinners were simply delightful. The chocolate decadence cake for dessert was moist and out of this world. The service is first-rate and very friendly. Give ASPIRE a visit. You will not be disappointed!"
