After reading all the reviews and checking out the website, we decided to make reservations. We asked for a quiet round table, and that's what we got. Wine was half off in the bar, and a nice brand to boot! We had excellent service, and the food was spectacular! I would make this a must, next time I return. Our entire group gave them 10 stars out of five!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMyrtle Beach SurpriseAspen Grill was a pleasant oasis in a sea of mediocrity. The knowledgable staff presents the menu with enthusiasm and justifiable pride. Most entrees come in two sizes, medium and main. The smaller portion is perfect for my wife, who couldn't even finish it. It's also great after enjoying a generous starter. The menu offers a range of items for any taste. We had the short ribs and the sea scallops.
The food does not disappoint and the piano/singer combo was very enjoyable without being intrusive.

I had the aspargus and fennel soup to start. It was delicicious; light and creamy. For my entre I had the surf and turf Aspen style and it was fabulous. My steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce over the lobster was perfect.

My son and his wife from Chicago ate there last week and raved about it so much that we had to try it ourselves. Everything was first class from the appetizers to the desert, a very generous portion (more than enough for 3 of us) of a 10 layer cake. They offer a variety of unusual entrees so it was difficult to choose one. Our group of 3 had different entrees after sharing appetizers and all were excellent. Our server was great, the hostess kept checking on us and the pianist/singer in the background created a memorable evening. but was well enough with lobster and oysters. My wife enjoyed the scallops, small
dish with great, tasty risotto amd fried spinach. She also enjoyed the fried green
tomatoes with crab, which she said were excellent. The Appletini and Grapefruit with
muddled basil martinis were a great way to start the evening. Thanks again for a wonderful evening and dinner. We will definitely be back in June. Service was outstanding

Found on-line while looking for an outstanding restaurant serving locally raised food. Great ambiance, friendly staff. The menu and wine list provided awesome choices. So much so, that I invited a colleague, who just arrived in town Friday PM, to experience an impressive restaurant. Collleague agreed! Jim, once again, was an awesome server, very knowledgeable of the menu & wine list. He provided customer satisfaction once again! The was prepared as requested.
