Aspen Grill offers a delightful, personalized dining experience in an area saturated with high-volume restaurants that primarily market to transient tourists. The ambience is refined, but not stuffy or pretentious. Menu options are imaginative and sufficient to satisfy varied preferences, but of a number to which the kitchen can give proper attention. The food is, simply, superb--both in flavor and presentation. Service is professional: Attentive, but not cloying; knowledgeable well beyond scripted descriptions of menu offerings; pleasant and respectful of diners' engagement with members of their own party. In short, Aspen Grill is on the very short list of our most favorite restaurants anywhere.

Upon a friend's recommendation, we had dinner at Aspen Grille - it was an excellent choice for a meal freshly prepared With local ingredients. I chose the Market Fresh Fish and my husband chose the Local Pan Seared Flounder and Shrimp for our entres. We started our meal with a Lobster Bisque. Everything was prepared with excellence.. Our meal ended with a 10 layer yellow cake with chocolate fudge frosting - the cake was light and the frosting heavenly - a perfect ending!

I read the reviews on Yelp and Open Table. They were correct. From our appetizers to our dessert, outstanding food and service. I could literally cut my ribeye with a spoon it was so tender and full of flavor. My husband had shrimp and grits. He absolutely loved his entrée. We had fried oysters and escargot for appetizers two words "simply delicious." I had the large portion blueberry bread pudding, my husband had the apple crumb. Both delicious but once he tasted the bread pudding he was in love. I should mention he does not like blueberries. Also, Bren, our server was very attentive and courteous. I definitely will return also I am sending my parents to experience The Aspen Grille. Thank you for real food and real service.

  • It started with the hostess...

    Dined on 10/25/2014
The hostess was not very friendly. Over the phone, and when we first arrived, she had an attitude - as if "you're lucky to be here in my turf". NOT cool. After she seated us, it took over 10 minutes before anyone came and offered us water or asked us what we wanted to drink...the table next to us was seated about 5 minutes after we arrived, and very quickly they received attention...while we were still sitting there as if we were invisible. Finally our waiter came over, and said there had been a miscommunication with the hostess about us being there...not sure I buy that. So he spent the rest of the evening trying to work his way out of the hole we started in. Overall, food was very good, but the initial impressions sunk the ship.

The food & service are OUTSTANDING. This is spoiled by a noisy ambiance especially if seated near the kitchen with an open view window where you not only SEE the operations, but HEAR the clanking dishes & dropped pots therein and rattling dishes on serving carts as they roll out of the kitchen into the dining area.

The food was good, but it was very very salty. We ordered our filets "medium" and they came out extremely rare so we told the server when she checked in on us. She took the two filets off our plates and put them on small saucers when she brought them back to the kitchen which I thought was a little odd. Other than that, she was very friendly and accommodating. The bar staff was also very good and my husband said the tuna appetizer he had during "happy hour" was the best he ever had.

It's been less than 2 weeks but I don't remember what I was served. I do remember HOW it was served. Leaning over one patron to serve another in order to save time, should not be condoned by management. Waitstaff should walk with purpose not rush from table to table. Everything was too frantic. Enjoyed the live music.

I overheard someone at the resort we were staying at say they enjoyed their dinner here the night before, and decided we should try it. What a treat!! Everything about Aspen Grille was perfection. The food was fantastic, and our server helped pick an excellent wine to go with our entrees. Although we were stuffed, we had to share a dessert once we saw them. I would highly recommend Aspen Grille!!

While on vacation from out of town, I treated my boyfriend to a suprise birthday dinner here. I was able to easily make reservations online and even specify table seating and occassion. When we arrived we were greeted and seated promptly with no waiting. When getting to our table I noticed the restaurant had placed a birthday card on the table for him. The candlelight dinner, live jazz, and superior service was Amazing. They all worked as a team and when our assigned waitress was waiting other tables someonelse was right behind her assisting us with water refills, cleaning our table, taking our finished plates. And best of all the food was beyond Awesome. Delightful and fresh and reasonably priced. Definitely returning!!!

This our favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. We found this gem last year and enjoyed a great meal. This past week we visited MB again and had a another fantastic meal at Aspen. The food is not just great it's outstanding. The Flounder and Ship dish I had was delicious and had a great appearance. We will be back in MB in January and it's a sure bet we'll have at least one meal at Aspen, maybe more.

We selected this restaurant after reading several very good reviews. Although rather pricey, we were willing to pay for good seafood at a local establishment. Two in the party had the scallops and are still raving about them. One had the fish of the day, a grouper, which was wonderful. The fourth selected a small fillet. All were very happy with the meals. The creme broulee and bread pudding were delicious. Aspen Grill has an intimate, comfortable setting. Our server was all business, and we would have appreciated one who was a bit more personable. Since we were a party of four women, not all drinking alcohol, he may have preferred to get us in and out. Regardless, we will definitely return when in the area.

After searching for a good steak place Myrtle Beach for years, we finally found this restaurant. The steak and pork chop were very good, the wine was a bit expensive by the bottle, but the per glass was reasonable - it's unusual to find the price per glass less than a price per bottle. Every dish on the menu sounded great! It was hard to choose! There were four in our party, and we all had a different appetizer and entree. Nobody was disappointed! My son-in-law said his fish was the best he had ever tasted! The restaurant is pricey! We were fortunate enough to be there on a night when there was soft music, which was a lovely touch. Our service wasn't what you would expect from such a classy restaurant, but it could be our server just had too many tables that night.
