The menu"s distinctive character comes from a flawless blend of talent and creativity. We are delighted to offer everything from Seafood Pad Thai to Honey Kumquat Quail and Wasabi Herb-Crusted Lamb Rack to Hoisin Marinated Pork Chop and Five Peppercorn Grilled Rib-eye Steak as well as our signature lobster mango spring roll and a variety of satays. The serene eatery accommodates 250+ guests. not to mention the Lemon Grass Room, a private dining room for parties and meetings with up to 70 guests, as well as the intimate Waterfall Room, 16-person private dining room adjacent to the sumptuously appointed lounge which is equipped with a beautiful baby grand piano.

  • "We recently took a group of family members from New York to Asparagus. We made reservations through Open Table, and when we arrived, our table was waiting. The wine list is thorough with a great mix of moderate to higher priced wines. Since we had a group, it was suggested that a good appetizer would be the Satay. Definitely we will have again. Our dinners were delicious and share worthy. We will visit again very soon."

  • "I found Asparagus to be a very romantic yet energetic restaurant. I took my boyfriend for a birthday dinner and he absolutely loved it. As a diner who loves to try new cuisines and dishes, I found this restaurant to have a wide variety to choose from. I had the spicy baked salmon, and roasted quail as an appetizer. My boyfriend had the lamb shank and he loved it despite the heavy gravy."

  • "My friend had the lamb chops which were AMAZING. We both took home an order of pad thai - this was our favorite pad thai at Siam Marina and we couldn't leave without it (and it was exactly the same!)! I had the seafood panang curry which I found to be disappointing. The calamari was not the type of calamari I am used to. This stuff seemed like imitation. The shrimp were nice and big and horribly overcooked. The flovor was great, the ingredients just weren't great. We were shocked by the lack of a hostess. When we arrived, no one was around to greet us. A bus boy walked up and tried to take us to a private party. I attempted to go to the restroom, but first roamed the restaurant before someone was able to help me."

  • "Reserved a table for a birthday celebration. Nothing special seemed to stand out. Staff was friendly, but it was a busy night, and service was a bit slow. I had been here before and was impressed enough to want to come back, but this second visit was not as impressive. Food was very salty. One of us ordered sea bass, but it seemed to be more like catfish and missing the rich, buttery flavor sea bass usually has. Portion size was decent. I would recommend this place for something casual, but if you're looking for something special or unique, this just didn't stand out. I will return, but won't be celebrating anything special there."

  • "It was my first time here. They sat me and my date at a nice table and forgot we were there. After about 15 min I had to ask who our waiter was. Then the night went well after that. The food was great and the service was great. I would go again. They have a lot on the menu."

  • "Had an early reservation thank goodness, service slowed at evening progressed. Food was good/great just missing on one minute detail per dish. Thin down and focus on the menu. Too many things to do them all consistently good. If the bill was 30-40% less maybe I would be less critical, but if you are going to charge those prices you need to deliver."

  • "The menu was interesting and many options. We had the pork shank and Sea Bass, both were very good. The sauce the pork sat in was delicious and good with the rice. The fried roll app we had was also good, but turned out to be the same sauce as the Sea Bass, so that was the only real issue and did not hurt. Wine list was nice and reasonable prices along with high end bottles as well. I would and will visit this place many times in the future now that I have discovered it. We were delayed 45 minutes because of weather and they still keep a table ready for us with a few updates calls from me."

  • "There were three dining areas--one around a bar (with televisions, which I hate in a formal dining setting), one traditional, and then a cluster of private rooms for small groups. The decor is difficult to define because, like the food, it represents a fusion of styles. But it works. The atmosphere was intimate and the main dining space was still small enough to be perfect for private conversations. The food was inventive and delicious (although I dare anyone to say "honey kumquat quail" ten times fast). The servers were very good, but they were having a problem with their linen service and had to fall back on paper napkins, which seemed to cause them considerable embarrassment. I would go back."

  • "We've all been to places where the staff seems not to want your business. They don't appear pleased to see you and reluctantly serve you a meal. Asparagus is definitely not that place! From the moment you walk through the front door, they are happy to take care of you. My friend had been there before and they remembered what she had ordered previously and made recommendations based on that. Service is attentive, but not hovering. Food was very good. The menu is quite extensive so I'll be going back soon to try more."

  • "This was my first time visiting. Wait service was excellent as our server recommended seating us in the lounge to get away from the party with the crying babies. Drink/wine list was extensive. The menu had so many different things on it I wanted to try. I styled on pho while my wife had coconut curry soup for appetizers. Only complaint was that my wife's soup contained a few uncooked noodles or something? For main dishes we had mojito halibut and lamb shank. The halibut was very tasty and my wife loved the jus that the lamb was served in. Deserts were also very good which made for an overall satisfying meal. We want to go back on a night when they have live jazz. Looking forward to it!"

  • "I was raised on Sourheast Asian, and this is the real deal! The young mountain lamb chops are a phenomenal appetizer, and the "Soldier of the Sea" and the "To Die For Pork Shank" are succulent, not to be missed wonders. And yes. The pork shank has truly earned its title. Don't forget the martinis....the green tea martini is also to die for!"

  • "The restaurant was beautiful on the inside. The food was delicious. We ordered spicy seafood rolls as an appetizer, lemongrass shrimp and scallops and spicy sea bass for our entrees. Everything was very good. My children had chicken fried rice. The server was very friendly and accommodating, and helped us a great deal when deciding what to order the kids. We will definitely return in the near future."

  • "Went with a group of 5 for a birthday and I decided to try something different. I tried a beef dish, which I wasn't terribly fond of. Others at the table got seafood, ribs or chicken, all of which looked fantastic. I generally love the pad thai chicken and should have stuck with it. The beef dish I ordered didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste differentiated, as does everything else I've had a Asparagus. I love this restaurant and its ambiance. I hope NW Indiana continues to support it. It could actually benefit from moving to a nicer location."

  • "There are so many wonderful things on the menu that it is difficult to recommend any one thing. Everything I've tried has been outstanding. The wine list is extensive. Most recently, I had the sesame encrusted Mahi Mahi. Spicy and fabulous! Also had the satay platter as an appetizer for our group. A marvelous mix of different meats that all tasted wonderful dipped in their peanut sauce. This went well with a bottle of Alsace wine. The helpings are ample, so you may want to share a dessert along with something from their considerable list of after dinner drinks and coffees. This restaurant is now at the top of our list of favorites!"

  • "I just love the food at this place. We used to go to Siam Marina, but unfortunately it has closed. Their menu is almost too extensive to pick from. My only complaint would be the service. It took about 10 minutes for the server to even come by our table. We got water right away but not much else. I highly recommend the lamb chops and the asparagus with shrimp and scallops. We love the lobster spring rolls, too."

The server forgot my wife's beverage the first time. We also suppose he got her order wrong, though the dish she received was delicious. We waited and waited to be brought our bill after we had finished dining. The noise level in the dining room was also disturbing."

  • "Northwest Indiana has so few good restaurants that any time there is a gem in the area I hope it stays for a while. I work nearby and live in Chicago--it's even worth a trip in from Chicago. I recommend the Grand Marnier beef stew and the mango lobster rolls. Really outstanding quality food worthy of a downtown Chicago restaurant!"

  • "We liked everything about this restaurant. It's like going to Chicago without the drive and parking fees. The appetizer list is fabulous. The avocado rolls, tempura green beans,Thai crispy rolls and lamb chops are our favorites. The large selection of entrees will satisfy the most discriminating diner. I recommend the Red Snapper Deluxe and curry dishes. Entertainment is provided several nights during the week. Martini drinkers will love the large selection of special Martini's."

  • "This was our first visit to Asparagus. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely go back the next time we are in town. They have a nice menu with several unique dishes with a Thai influence. The food was very good with nice portions. The wine list is good...not exceptional, but several good choices at reasonable prices are available. The service was just a little slow, but the restaurant was packed with a line at the door. It was Sweetest Day so I'm glad we made reservations in advance."
