  • "Huge menu, exotic and familiar options, waitress was more like a concierge than a server--we really felt pampered!"

  • "I visited Asia Bay on 4-6-2014. The food was excellent, our server Alfred was a delight and knew every aspect of the menu. This is a great, quiet spot for couples. If I had one point that could have put the experience over the top it would be that I noted it was my husband's birthday. When the hostess called to confirm our reservation she made mention of it. Unfortunately, there was no recognition during our dining experience. I did not expect anything free, just a Happy Birthday would have sufficed. The restaurant, service and food were wonderful!"

  • "Food is great especially the fried rice and tuna sushi tower appetizer. It is on the waterway on las olas, pretty ambiance if you sit outside."

  • "Wonderful for dinner (we go regularly), but definitely not a place for lunch on a workday if you want to get in and out within a reasonable period of time. We went over lunch hour, had a reservation so getting promptly seated was no problem, but the service was horrible. In fact, during the hour, all we were served were the appetizers. The main course did not arrive in that hour, so I was forced to have it packaged to go. Like I said, ridiculously bad lunch service. Food, as always, was great."

  • "Madera (sp?) our waitress offered the most professional, efficient and friendly service I have received in South Florida in quite awhile. We were very impressed with her knowledge and recommendations regarding the menu and specials for the evening. Food presentation was beautiful and the flavor / seasonings were great. Will definitely be kept on my "short list" of restaurant options."

  • "Totally enjoyable Had the gyoza, rock shrimp, edamame, and Tuna rock w/ seaweed. starters -All outstanding. Main course PAd Thai is one of the best in South Florida The rolls - My fav was the Dream Roll, But the mexican was really good as well. Asked for an outside table on special requests and was accomodated with the best outside table Did not love the Sashimi but that was more because of the preparation. I prefer thinly sliced portions. Those served were generous cuts"

  • "The "waterfront view" wasn't all that, but it wasn't horrible. The service was lovely, the sushi looked as good as it tasted. My Panang Curry was perfect! Will be back."

  • "The wait staff is always exceptional and they guide you through the delicious food selection. My wife loves the Thai and I love the sushi. This is one of the few places that pay as much attention to the atmosphere as they do the food. A wonderful experience."

  • "Really enjoyed our Sushi rolls (Dragon and Beauty and the Beast). Asia bay pad thai made a good entree for us to split. I really like green tea ice cream and they have it regular, but also tempura. So they wrap a scoop of ice cream in what appears to amount to a 1/2" thick pound cake, dust it and then deep fry. It was great, presented beautifully and a good value."

  • "Brought my wife and another couple here for Valentines Day dinner. Staff was very kind and helpful. We sat outside by the canal, and there was a nip in the air, the staff lit the outdoor heaters on request and made us very comfortable. I ordered a dry martini but OOPS! No bar! Only beer, wine, and saki. We ordered an app (Tuna Rock) which was noted by my party as least desirable item we sampled. It was too processed. Lost in the dish was the star- the tuna! Everyone really enjoyed their assorted sashimi and various sushi rolls, all delivered as advertised, fresh and tasty. Great experience over all! Would visit again, especially due to the overall food enjoyment, the fantastic and friendly staff, and the great outdoor ambiance by the canal."

  • "This place has a lengthy list of rather creative suhi rolls as well as appetizers. The raw fish used is fresh but the available selection is very limited. Apart from the standards of tuna, salmon, yellow tail and shrimp there is little that would qualify this as a true sushi bar. The staff behind the suhi bar has only received rudimentary training so unfortunately the rice used for Nigiri is too cold, the rice to fish ratio is not balanced and the rice balls pressed much too firmly to be enjoyable. Stick with the rolls as here the rice to fish/ingredient ratio is much better and the cold/hard pressed rice less noticeable. Decent wine list as well as nice ambience but overall not a place I would want to return to for the food."

  • "Great fresh sushi... Tempura shrimp was massive... good spring roll... highly recommend this gem in the heart of vibrant Las Olas area... Prices very reasonable for this area... Recommend sitting outside along the canal... Although not on the saki menu, warm saki is available..."

  • "Service attentive but not intrusive. Tuna rock over seaweed best appetizer! Had shrimp with garlic sauce. Tasty but too salty for me. Rolls are delicious! Staff friendly."

  • "I went to Asia Bay was seated inside at a corner table (not given a choice to sit outside), very noisy Saturday night, waiter friendly but felt like he was slamming the plates down in front of us no real care taken.. Food was good, price was good for being in Las Olas. Overall experience average."

  • "My first visit; friends had been there before. staff was fabulous. some of the best service i've had in ages A nice wine and beer list ... and a too HUGE menu .. food was OK; crispy shrimp roll was bland and gummy ... not awful but not great; pad thai (with shrimp) was quite good ... the noodles were not cooked to mush as they often are, plenty of sprouts and chopped peanuts ... a spritz of lime and it was great! We also did the "whole" fish ... kind of misleading since they cut off the filets and fry them in chunks, separately from the body. It was dry ... and the sauce was all in the bottom of the dish; awkward to get to like most things on Las Olas, it was a bit pricey; $140 inc tip for one app; two entrees; and modest wine."

  • "Took my boss to Asia Bay, he is big fan of seafood in general, busy night but we were served well, food is delicious and you have such variety from sushi to sashimi to THAI. I have been there several times with as many people at one table as 8. Always thumbs up from everyone. The wait for food to come to the table may seem a little long but you have to remember all the sushi, etc,. is made to order by hand and totally worth the wait., Highly recommend sitting outside by one of the canals."

  • "We always have trepidations trying a new restaurant, but this time we were not disappointed; the food was very good and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding, friendly, cheerful, knowledgable, swift and professional. We especially appreciated that the two children in our party was so well catered to and kept happy by our waiter. The restaurant is located on Las Olas, but slightly away from the hustle and bustle. We easily found metered street parking on a side street, but be aware, watch the time! We vere ticketed by being 10 minutes over time. Maybe better to use the restaurant's valet parking behind building. We had a very enjoyable evening."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants! And once again, we weren't disappointed. Sitting outside is such a treat. The food is fresh, authentic, and delicious. This particular night it was very busy. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, but did a good job nonetheless. Food came out slower than usual. I recommend reservations as waits can easily be an hour."

  • "We love Asia Bay but did not realize they now have 2 locations. I booked Fort Lauderdale by mistake but showed up at Bal Harbour. They did not realize the mistake either and seated us, no problem. As always the food was tasty and well prepared. I especially liked the Scallop main. We will be back!"

  • "This was our 3rd time visiting Fort Lauderdale this year and we have eaten at Asia Bay each time. The Tuna Rock app and roll was amazing. All apps and sushi/sashimi were so beautifully prepared and so fresh! A must visit restaurant !"

  • "Thai dishes were pretty good (we had Asia Bay dish with garlic souse and beef main with massaman curry); as for sushi (we had Volcano, Dragon, Rainbow, and Crunchy shrimp rolls) there was nothing special. The portions were big and nicely presented. Downside: all sushi that contained shrimps, had shells inside, which was weird and one of us almost choked on it. The other downside was a very slow service: it took about 40-50 minutes between ordering food and getting it. Overall nice experience."

  • "After reading the great reviews I decided to try this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. The sushi rolls were greasy and full of mayonnaise and the individual pieces of sushi we're not as fresh as I like. The rice was hard and didn't have a lot of flavor. The eel pieces didn't have the right sauce and were a bit crispy. I wouldn't call this a Japanese restaurant! The best part of the evening was the piano player from the restaurant next door. He was awesome!"
