A word from Asa Dos
Asa Dos translates to “roasted” in Spanish, & refers largely to carne asado, the delicious roasted meats of Argentina. This carnivore’s kingdom is the perfect addition to Surfside’s tasty village. Homemade empanadas & croquettes decorate a selection of appetizers ranging from sweetbreads to grilled octopus, & there are several selections from the sea on the menu. But the backbone here is the beef. Vacio steak, a traditional Argentine cut is grilled to perfection, & an 18-ounce porterhouse is served for the not-so-faint-of-heart. Mixed grill selections include short ribs, sweetbreads, chicken, & the don’t-knock-it-till-you-try-it treat, savory blood sausage. Minding their Italian roots, we offer irresistible pasta dishes like Cannelloni Crêpes, & on the 29th of each month, we celebrates the large Italian population of Argentina with "Gnocchi 29," when money is hidden under each heaping plate of plump Gnocchi for good luck. Asa 2 is a place for festive, family-owned deliciousness.

Good Argentinian meat. The barbecue was excellent and well proportioned. Nice location with on-street parking. I drove 45 minutes to get there, and it was worth my while!

We booked a reservation for a large group - 12 people - on a Saturday night. When we arrived, they didn't know we were coming & denied we had a reservation until we showed them the e-mail confirmation. Totally unprepared

Fairly new restaurant along Harding avenue in Surfside. Did not meet the recommendation of our concierge mainly because the service was fair at best - and we were so early as to be virtually the only ones there. We had their two top items - a skirt steak which was excellent and a sea bass which was pedestrian. Will go back one more time.

  • Average food, more a dinner

Average food, more a dinner than a full restaurant. Expensive! for the level of food and service. Many good Argentinian restaurants in the area, I don’t see Asa Dos lasting very long time in the neighborhood. The last shocking points: a Surfside local tax, plus the regular tax. AND a 18% gratuity already included for a party of 2…combine with the quality of food…a very poor choice.
