ArugulaGreat find!My husband and I love to cook, entertain and eat! The great thing about this place is that the food isn't "ordinary" in that it offers unique flavors and styles of cooking. We shared the calamari which was so tender and delicious that I can't remember when I had calamari so good. After that, I had the arugula salad which was mediocre, but my husband's lobster bisque was fabulous with "real" crab meat! My husband had the sea bass and I had the veal (cooked francaise style); both were flavorful and expertly prepared. I asked the server if I could have the risotto instead of the mashed potatoes which was offered, and he said it would not be a problem. Some chefs covet their choices about what goes with certain dishes.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Slower service.Great food. Slower service. Nice waitstaff. Skimpy on the bread but food is good and just the right portion. (Not huge portions)6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI agree with most other reviews,I agree with most other reviews, the food is absolutely delicious every time we go, the service is excellent, the setting is lovely and original. The only problem is it's too noisy. My husband thought if they draped cloth over some of the rafters, it would help, but not detract from the lovely 'stars'. By the way, the noise level does not keep us away, the food is too yummy.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe keep going back!I have been here several times and will continue to dine there. The food is always amazing! Last time my husband and I tried the pan seared gnocchi as an appetizer! We loved that dish so much that this time we ordered it for our main entree!! So want to try their deserts but I never have room!!! Our waiter Dominic described the dishes perfectly!!! We will be returning soon!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent mealExcellent food and atmosphere. Highly recommend the PEI Mussels. Truffle Dusted Filet was to die for. Server was great.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the restaurant andWe loved the restaurant and everything was more than perfect....from the reception...service...and food which was delicious.....Definitely on our go back list!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe LOVE Arugula!!This was our 3rd time at Arugula and we LOVED it! I took my husband for his birthday on Friday night, and it was awesome. My husband said he can go back again & again and try a different item on the menu and never be bored! I agree - I had the hardest time deciding what to order!! Everything was DELICIOIUS! Can't wait to go back AGAIN and again!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMArugula great food & serviceLauren was our server top notch filling in for Andrea!

For a small home town restaurant they hit a home run!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMArugula shines again! As usual, a great meal with great service. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great dining experience.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMYumWe were seated before our reservation time. That was nice. We had brought out own wine and had our glasses filled within the first ten minutes. A lot of servers and people taking our dishes away and replenishing our table with fresh eats i.e bread, apps, water refills then dinner. A very pleasant experience.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, as always!Dinner was great again!
We started with the lobster bisque, which was delicious with wonderful bread. The atmosphere was very nice, as it was a week night, so we were able to enjoy some quiet moments in that beautiful dining room.
My partner had the Ceasar salad & I had the special roasted beet with whipped goat cheese salad that was out of this world! We split an order of the Bucatini, which I will never grow tired of eating. We both had the Scallop & pork belly special.... wow!
We loved every bite. The restaurant has a very peaceful decor, I love the color scheme & ceiling detail.... if they could find a way to add some sound deadening material to the ceiling to reduce the echo, it would be perfect, even romantic.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent!Neat little place! Many friends have told us how good it is and we agree. We will be back!!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat special occasion placeThis was our third time back to Arugula. Our waitress, Lauren, was attentive and really warm and friendly. The food was outstanding! Ala carte, so it is a bit pricey. We really prefer seafood, and the few dishes on the menu did not disappoint. Love the mussels appetizer, VERY spicy with hot sausage. Fried calamari has fried jalapenos too. We had salmon, rib eye steak, and chilaen sea bass for dinner. No seafood special this time, but the meat specials were good. They have one table for 6 people that is set off behind a curtain in it's own little alcove. The place is BYOB, so that is a great savings! Dessert was just ok. We shared a canolli. But, that is my only minor disappointment. Honestly, I was too full and only had a taste.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThursday night for dinnerIt was a great dinner not only because of the food and the service, but because it allowed 3 mom's and their daughters to have
a great time. Thank you
Marlene Frayne5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining experienceThe staff is attentive and the food is delicious. We happened to be dining on a Thursday between 4 and 6 so we chose our meal from a special menu which offered a 3 course meal for $25. The lobster bisque had delicious lumps of lobster. The mussels were in abundance. Our main course was salmon and risotto. The risotto was slightly undercooked but the salmon was very tasty. We finished our meal with the Tiramisu and the Creme Brulee - both selections were exquisitely prepared. Overall we had an outstanding dining experience.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMamazing mealthis place is great! everyone's meal was top notch. the flavors and presentation are amongst the best i've ever had. our new favorite place in the area!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMArugula perfect placeBest italian joint around, gotta love it , byob! Good job5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious but...We've never been to Arugula during the middle of the week (which might explain the shorter menu) and now that the weather is getting warmer - the menu was definitely lighter and more oriented towards fish.... but I missed some of the choices that had been on the menu the last several times we dined at Arugula. Maybe they just wanted to change things up and everything was delicious. I just missed the Strozzapretti with the Duck Ragu and some of the other chicken entrees. I will be back soon - the food is amazing.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food, excellentWonderful food, excellent service and, since it's BYOB, the price was was very reasonable.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurant. Its a must try!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Arugula. Our waiter was very attentive and informed us of all the dinner entrees and how they were prepared. He recalled all of the entrees by memory and did not have to read the information from a paper list. He was also very friendly and very nice.
The food was outstanding from the appetizers to the main entree. We were not able to enjoy dessert because we were full. Next time we will save room for dessert. We will definitely return again and are so fortunate that this restaurant is so close to home.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent and our dishes were very good although a tad pricey.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is delicious and freshFood is delicious and fresh as always. calamari and veal meatballs are delicious Service is wonderful4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEat Here!Especially excellent service by Lauren. Our family goes to Easter Brunch every year, so they were excited when I told them that we were going to Arugula, as we all love the food. While the selection was smaller than they larger venues we were not disappointed!!! We are hoping that they will have an Easter Brunch next year as we will be back!!
PS~ This is a BYO restaurant. We loved that we could bring our own bloody mary's!!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service at ArugulaThe food and service at Arugula is always very good. This visit was on Easter Sunday and the restaurant was very busy with a number of large parties. As a result, the noise level was higher than normal and the servers were very busy.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had our first visit toWe had our first visit to Arugula for Easter dinner. We had heard so many good things about this local restaurant. We were seated as soon as arriving. Guess they were under staffed for the holiday because when the young man came to our table he was surprised no one had delivered bread or opened our wine. I don't think he is a regular waiter since he didn't explain any specials or just welcome us. There was a party of 18-20 next to us so is was very loud at times.Too bad they don't have a room for large parties. Now for the GOOD review. The mussels and sauce and bisque soup were a good start for our meal. Two of us had the pork and one had the scallops. The food was cooked perfect. We will return but not on a holiday3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely awesome diningAbsolutely awesome dining experience. Will definitely be returning.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI frequent this restaurantI frequent this restaurant often. This is truly a neighborhood gem! They just recently changed their menu for the spring and I can't wait to go back and try their other selections. Def a must try if you have never been!

Highly recommend it.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMpleasant dining experience.pleasant dining experience. second time at Arugula. great deal for restaurant week. great menu choices. the food was excellent!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMArugula has become one ofArugula has become one of our favorite restaurants in South Jersey! We especially like the weekday early-bird special menu, and also always look forward to both the fall and spring restaurant week during which you get to sample the chef's delicious, homey yet gourmet cuisine, at the reasonable price of $35.00 for four courses. It is understandably a busy restaurant, and we would definitely recommend reservations (especially for weekend dining). My husband and I have never been disappointed, and we have taken various friends there because we know that our dining experience will always be first-class and everyone will leave there full of good food, happy thoughts, and plans for future visits!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI stumbled upon it by accident.I stumbled upon it by accident. Best mistake I ever made. Everything was hot and so tasty.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!Everything was wonderful from the staff to the delicous and beautifully prepared food. The only negative comment I have is during restaurant week with the $35 4 course menu, they have many options which are an added fee. We go to both NJ and Philly restaurant weeks and have never seen any restaurant do this, including some of the higher end restaurants. This doesn't really quite fit in with the set menu. I did have the Chilean seabass which was an added $8 but it was excellent as well as all the other courses. The staff did go above an beyond to accomodate added people to our reservation and were wonderful all around. This is my 5th time at Arugula and won't be the last!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth my wife and I had theBoth my wife and I had the best meal I've had in years, it was simply outstanding, if I had more time I would have gone there twice.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again had a fabulousOnce again had a fabulous meal. Everyone raved about all four courses! Thanks for a great meal.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe visited during restaurantWe visited during restaurant week. We have dined here before and loved our food. This time, my husband was very happy with his meal, but mine was rather bland. I ordered the shrimp appetizer which was very good but then when my salmon came it was the same presentation.....both were on a bed of cannellini beans.I was dissappointed. The dessert was excellent. Overall a great place to eat but go when you can order from the regular menu.....it is much better than the options on the special menu.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was amazing!!! WillThe food was amazing!!! Will definitely go back!!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur only objection was theOur only objection was the noise and crowd which was due to "Restaurant Week". We will most assurdedly go back on a normal off weeknight. The food amnd service was excellent,3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great Dinner! We visited Arugula during Restaurant week. The menu had a lot of our favs and did not disappoint. The Duck Meatballs appetizer was outstanding, my Sea Bass very flavorful. I always enjoy the poached pear and walnut salad. The bread pudding dessert was divine == warm, firm bread pudding with sauce and ice cream on top....
It was a very crowded, busy night due to Restaurant Week, but our service did not suffer.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThere for a second time, weThere for a second time, we felt that the food was not as good as the during our first visit. It should be noted that both of our visits were during "Hot Chefs" week.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
