    Comfortably seats up to 60 guests and is available after 4pm any evening of the year. It has its own large kitchen that can easily create any type of event: from simple cocktail parties to buffets to intricate multi-course dinners.

    Comfortably seats up to 32 guests and is one of the most exquisite and serene small function rooms in all of Boulder.

A word from Arugula Ristorante
Arugula has a dozen bar seats, several tables and a seasonal patio that we do not take online reservations for. So please try calling us if you don't get the exact time slot you want.

Arugula is elegant Italian dining with the warmth of home in a modern environment, infusing the best of Italian culinary tradition with our contemporary interpretations. We pride ourselves on using ingredients grown based on traditional practices, helping to remind us of our connection to the land and the seasons. We create balanced meals using meats that are naturally raised, in-season organic local produce, and fish and shellfish which is in accordance with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch guidelines for sustainability. In addition to our regular menus, each evening we print a daily specials sheet of an additional 10 to 15 dishes. This is our playground and often these dishes focus on in-season produce and fresh seafood.Continued

  • "I enjoyed the wild salmon which was nicely prepared and served. Over all the menu is a little pricy for lunch unless you order a salad or sandwich. They have a lovely patio. It is nicely decorated with flower pots at varying levels to try to mask the parking lot. I would definitely recommend you give it a try."

  • "Our food was very good, way better than I could cook, but nothing I would return for. Our waiter was polite, but barely spoke, didn't tell us about specials or recommendations. The busboys were outstanding. We got more assistance from them than we did our waiter. Ordered the crabcakes that were just okay. There was a pork tenderloin that was wonderful, and the roasted red pepper risotto was very good also."

  • "I love a spot that has great service, atmosphere, food and drinks without the pretentious mumbo jumbo. I forgot our waitress' name but she was very attentive and knowledgable. The menu changes due to what's in season and fresh which makes it so enticing. I had a Malbec and my boyfriend had a couple different brews from their beer selection. We got the Pork Shoulder Rillette starter...delicious! The blackberry fennel jam was exploding with flavor. Yum! My boyfriend ordered the Beef Tenderloin and me the Italian Sausage, Goat Cheese and Penne. Everything is grown locally and made fresh. Our service was impeccable and the food was great. Overall I left with a smile on my face. We will defiantly come back soon."

  • "We'd been to Tangerine and learned about Arugula. Finally tried it and wondered why we hadn't sooner! The food was deeelish, and the fact that the menu noted which dishes were gluten free made ordering a breeze. The mint martini was delightful."

  • "The waiters/waitresses were attentive and helpful but some of the food was less than desirable. The muscles, lobster, and Calamari left something to be desired. The sauce in the muscles and lobster was far too spicy. Maybe this is good for those people enjoy very spicy food but a note should be put on menu that this is spicy/hot. The calamari appetizer was far too salty to be enjoyable. No, this is not the norm I expect for this dish as I have had more moderately seasoned calamari in the past. The one really good dish I enjoyed sampling from my wife was the pork. Also, adding more effective shades so those customers hit by direct sunlight near sunset can actually read the menu. Lastly a tad higher air conditioning could also help."

  • "Unfortunately "Hot Spot" not in a good way. I hope that the restaurant of this caliber will get better air conditioner. It was uncomfortably hot and 3 other tables complained as well. As for the food , calamari was doughy,mushy, Thank god for the mussels they where tasty. Pork tenderloin was ok.I think the temperature of the room contributed to our just so so experience"

  • "We had been to Arugula before and so we came again with mild expectations of a good evening. First they both the drink order for one of us. Not a biggie, since these things happen. After a calamari appetizer that was pure heaven and pork rillettes appetizer that was "meh" the entrees came. Our wives salmon was overcooked, but that's how they like 'em so no problem there. But, my friend's lamb was so overcooked that one of the cuts was actually black. I ordered the pork tenderloin, so it too was way overcooked. Not a biggie, let's try again. On the return, the got my friend's lamb right, but mine was completely raw in the middle. Raw. I threw in the towel. It was either incompetence or cluelessness in the kitchen that night."

  • "We read local article about Arugula and always looking to find new places the four of us decided to go that Sunday night. Overall three of the four of us felt food was "not memorable". Restaurant was about half full and service was slow but we were in no rush . Server was not very friendly which is unusual for boulder but since we are from LA we are used to that! The Flank steak -no flavor but heavily peppered- vegetables accompanying it were very good. Pork tenderloin also was too peppery. Prawns with pasta and fennel...nothing noteworthy. Gnocchi was outstanding. Nice decor with outdoor seating but since it's all about the FOOD and the SERVICE for us we will check Arugula OFF the list and not go back...."Been there ...Done That! ""

  • "We went to Arugula on Friday with some friends. We have been here before, and really enjoyed our meals. This time we had a Groupon. What a great deal this was! Each of the four of us could order what we wanted off of each section of the menu. We ended up getting some cheeses and antipasta to share to start. This was a very good idea, as there was lots of food, and we all wanted to try some of the cheese, nuts, and prosciutto. We had lovely cocktails and wine, which was reasonably priced, and the service was just attentive enough. By the time we were looking at the dessert menus, we were pretty full!"

  • "We were at Arugula on Sunday evening. The restaurant was not full, yet our service was poor. We waited 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. After ordering some drinks, it was another 20 minutes until the server came to take our order. A person in our party mentioned to this server that it took a long time to come back for the order. Instead of saying, "Sorry for the delay," the server got defensive and said, "I looked over at the table and it didn't look like you were ready to order." The food took a long time to be delivered. Then, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our check. The food was wonderful, but this service experience was so unpleasant that it will probably keep us from returning."

Arugula was out of the way (shopping center area), but everything else was pretty ho-hum from our experience. The food was good, but in no way worth the total price paid compared to other excellent Boulder options. The taste combinations were not typical, but not in a great way. I had scallops, which were fresh and tasted great, but they were oddly over a bed of heavy, orange, fall flavor-tasting risotto. The ambiance was fine, but nothing special. The service was slow and just ok overall. There was nothing bad about the experience, but also nothing great that would bring us back versus the many other great spots in the area. Sorry!"

Our only complaint is that the majority of servers we have had at Arugula know little to nothing about wine. Most restaurants of this calibre invest in training their staff to have at least a passing understanding of the wines they are serving."
