Aurturo's is my girlfriend's favorite restaurant. I had never been there before, but it was a great experience. The food was excellent. The staff all had smiles on their faces. Our waitress was attentive but not over bearing. While not the least expensive restaurant in town, I'd say the quality of the food and the overall experience is worth the little extra $.

Great food and excellent service. The calamari and the meatball appetizer was just the right size for 4 of us to share. A variety of dishes - lamb special, seafood di mare, pizza and pasta - pleased everyone...and the sea salt gelato was the best. In my reservation I had asked to be seated in the back room, but there was function going on when we arrived so I was asked if the side alcove would work - great response by management! We live in Natick but thought it was worth going out a bit futher west and give it a try. Not far off of Rt. 9 so if you miss the height of communting definately worth a trip. The food was excellent however it was very noisey. They did have a few large tables which looked to be corporate events. We will certainly try it again with hopes of it not being so loud. If it is we will move on to find a more intimate date night setting. All the good stuff, now the not so good.....the 70's era cafeteria style tables and chairs situated practically back to back in an auditorium like setting made for a restricted, noisy environment. We had our reservation, so when we arrived and stated so, we were taken directly to our table.
The Halibut special, which we both ordered, was cooked to perfection.
We enjoyed the meal, our apps. and wine. We had a great time catching up without the grandkids, although we missed them dearly!!
When the desserts were so beautifully presented, we decided to pass. All plates were cleaned. I really enjoyed the homemade paste dish I had with fresh and generous portions of shrimp, scallops and lobster bits. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the wine list and was able to find something I would like. Desserts were very good, but they did not have ice cream, just gelato. Each of us chose a different entree, two of which were specials. The entrees were expertly prepared and served with great culinary crafting. The service was superb--Our waiter was friendly and highly responsive without being obsequious. He was very helpful in my son's selection of a gluten-free beer and entree. The asparagus-and-leek bisque was divine, as were the crab cake appetizers. We have had the latter a number of times in the past, and they never disappoint. The waiter was fairly attentive, and pleasant. Unfortunately, one of us ordered a seafood dish that did not live up to the description on the menu. The owner came over to ask how everything was, and he was very nice, and offered to replace the meal. Everyone working there is attentive and willing to make your dining experience pleasurable. The food is very good. We had the swordfish special and the bolognese. My sword was done perfectly and my husband really enjoyed the bolognese. I miss the Gnocchi that used to be on the menu. That would be my only complaint. Meals are well prepared and presented. They live in Boston and are used to all the great Boston restaurants. They loved it....and now understand what we've been raving about. We usually don't get dessert because we are too full but they talked us into it. Their way of dining is to bring some of the meal home to "save room for dessert". The seafood in the fruitti de mare and the pasta napoli were large and succulent - very well cooked. I am guessing that the pappardelle was home made - it was cooked perfectly. The wine list is a tad on the pricey side - only one selection in each wine category was under $30/bottle. Decorations are a bit sparse but the funky light fixtures and excellent food more than make up for that! There were crumbs on one seat in the booth and the host offered to seat us elsewhere. The waitress was attentive and drink orders and food came quickly. We also appreciated the fact the waiter asked up front about food allergies -- something every restaurant should do but most don't. We all raved about the food and service. Their gluten-free pasta was the best we had ever tasted! Portions are generous but not overwhelming.Prices are a little higher than average, but you get what you pay for.
