ArtuGreat dinner in Little Italy!We were given a personal recommendation to dine at Artu and ask for the waiter, Gianni. It was a rainy Thursday night and we went out of our way to get there. It was worth all of the effort. You enter into a wonderful bar area which would be worth coming back just for that experience. We had a reservation and were immediately seated bya friendly host/owner!? Giianni was a wonderful waiter. We started with a great Chianti and fabulous crostini appetizer. We had 3 different entrees, a veal special, shrimp linguini, and penne puttanesca. All very tasty and perfect portions. The homemade cannolis were amazing with a touch of orange zest. Our room had many full tables and most seemed to be locals. There were 6 of us -- three of whom were second generation Italian -- so I was hesitant, never having been to Artu. But my worries were soon over after we received and tasted our appetizer. Things just went up from there! The servers were attentive, the food superb and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I think the noise level was normal, as there was no carpeting. I have already recommended Artu, and will definitely return!

Five of us recently dined at Artu and thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers and meals. We had the Rustico Antipasti which included a delicious spicy eggplant, the Calamari which was tender and crisp, and the Caprese salad with terrific mozzarella.
We had two of the specials, haddock with the signature broccoli rabe, sea bass with sausage and a fantastic lasagne. It was all very tasty!
The service was excellent! We had a better meal here than we have had at some pricier restaurants. The menu is homemade Italian classics, perfectly prepared and at ridiculously low prices. Our server was friendly, attentive, and clearly very skilled at her job. The only downside was the temperature- it was 90 F the night we ate at Artu and the air conditioning was broken! But as long as the weather cooperates, we would definitely go back to Artu. My date and I both agreed that the food was fantastic Sat night. Appetizer was a ricotta wrapped in eggplant, for dinner she ordered the Fusilli e Salsicce con Broccoli Rabe with Sausage and I got the Pollo Arrabiata. The appetizer was definitely the highlight of the evening. For dinner: pasta was perfectly cooked, my chicken dish was spicy, sauces were not too thick/watery and the portions were a reasonable size (nothing left for lunch the next day). No valet parking for Artu, I valeted my car @Mamma Maria for $25. The atmosphere was great. My dish was good, not great, but my friends dishes were amazing. The chicken parm is as big as your head and outstanding. All 6 of us couldn't stop raving about our waiter. Glad we did. Loved the North End and if we did not have reservations would have been totally confused on where to eat. We were seated promptly when we arrived. Our waitress Amanda was sweet and attentive. The food/wine and company were truly enjoyable. We each ordered something different and were very pleased with our choices.
