  • Special Events & Promotions: Features up to four rooms that can be made completely private. The first is the beautiful Salon that is AV equipped and seats up to 80 people. Second is our Medieval Room that can seat one large party of up to 24 or can be divided to seat two parties of 12 each. The next is the Wine Room with a view of our Cellar and Fleur de Lis decor.

  • "Interesting French restaurant, especially after just coming back from Paris and Marseille. However, food is a bit spicy - like French Mexican. Our complimentary appetizer was ceviche with pepper oil (hardly French), the seafood bouillabaisse was wonderful, very good, but spicy, I guess that's French in south Texas! My spouse had the snapper, and the fish was fresh and tasty, but again, the sauce was spicy. The bread was wonderful. Make sure you order your salad with dressing on the side, otherwise you'll get old lettuce drenched all afternoon in dressing. The service was excellent, and the food Mexican!"

Very nice find in downtown Houston for a special occasion dinner. They took extra special care of us since it was our anniversary and have us complimentary champagne and escargot.   • "Service is great. Met the chef/owner outside the restuaurant. Food is good. I find it disgusting to eat around flies and Artisans has them. The establishment has a serious issue with flies/gnats that they are aware of. According to the waiter, they exterminate the restaurant frequently to no avail. If you dine before night fall, then you will see 2-3 flying around your food consistently. We had a couple of them sitting on the bread basket. This was our first and last time eating there."

Anything we wanted was attended to beautifully, the waiter was knowledgable & attentive without being "too" present. I had the ribeye steak which was done in a new way for me (slightly caramelized on topside) & it was fabulous! The presentation is outstanding. It is a true French restaurant with an upscale Bistro vibe...several types of seating arrangements to choose from. We stayed 2 1/12 hours because it was such a lovely experience."

  • "This place is amazing. I've been 3 times and always amazed! The scallops appetizer is unreal! The candied bacon on the Arisan Salad should be against the law. The chilean sea bass and cobia are incredible. And the waiters are very informative, just the right amount of attention which allows you to enjoy the amazing food and table conversation. Sitting at the big chef's table provides a great show as well. The kitchen is fun to watch."

We had the scallops for an appetizer. My only complaint was that there were only two scallops; at $24 I thought there might be a few more as they were so good. I had the Seared Lamb Loin Au Jus and my wife had the Beef Tenderloin, both entrées were excellent. "

  • "Artisans was a pleasant surprise for us in midtown area-sitting around the kitchen/chef's area was entertaining and offered a nice twist to the venue. The only disappointments were the server-recommended appetizer "escargot a la bourguignone", I would not order them again; and my own dessert choice of the "Bavarois au Citron"-I found it kind of bland and not worth $10-. On the other hand, the server-recommended appetizer "Fromage de Chevres et sa Tarte Tatin" was delicious as was "Les Noix de St. Jacques". The chilean sea bass was totally outstanding as an entree! I got to taste the "Vacherin Glace "dessert (with the lemon basil glace and it was incredible! A bit on the expensive side but certainly a nice find for a special occasion! "

  • "I have been a few times to enjoy Artisans. This last visit was clearly the highlight. I wrote in my reservation that my wife and daughter are vegetarian's. When we arrived the waiter had this message and had prepared a couple additional options including a chef special that would be prepared in 3 courses. My wife said it is one of the top meals ever and my daughter also raved about it. And neither is easily impressed. This was also my wife's birthday (noted in the reservation) and the dessert chef had prepared a special sampling for the girls. It could not have been a nicer dinner experience."
