There is an above ground parking lot beside the restaurant patio and there is a large underground parking lot off of Rennell drive in Southport. Guests may also choose to park on the sides of Rennel Drive or walk in from the center of Southport village.

  • "I ate brunch at Artisan with friends in celebration of a birthday. Overall, we all had a fabulous experience! The $19 price fixed brunch is a great deal, and includes a cocktail (mimosa or bloody mary) and a cup of coffee. I ordered the Gravlox Benedict (poached eggs served on a SoNo English muffin with spinach with smoked salmon), and it was the best brunch dish I've ever had! The fluffy English muffin made the dish. One of my friends ordered a salad with salmon and the other ordered the casserole, and both raved about their dishes as well. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I'd highly recommend!"

  • "Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Delamar Hotel in Southport, sits this lovely restaurant. It has soft lighting, a cozy bar for before-dinner drinks, and has an upscale decor. The staff was friendly, and the reason why you're there? The food was outstanding. My Nantucket fluke was one of the best fish entrees I've ever had and considering I have just returned from Bermuda and had lots of wonderful fresh fish... crunchy, grilled on the outside, oh-so-tender on the inside. Fabulous. The wine list was extensive, but I felt the prices were a bit lofty and the cheese plate, three very, very petite slices was a bit pricey at $16... Outside of that, I would eagerly return, especially for the delicious Nantucket fluke. THAT was amazing!"

The menu is somewhat boring if you go often - does not change frequently enough. If you go for only special occasions I think you will like Artisan. Once the weather gets warmer, the Desperate Housewives of Fairfield County inundate the outdoor dining area."

  • "I have one major complaint. The Valet service is ridiculous. The parking lot is 15 feet from the door, yet the valet came up to the car when I was pulling in. I have eaten here before with no valet. It is a complimentary (unless you tip) service, but completely useless! This particular night was raining and COLD. When we finished our meal, we had to walk outside in the rain, stand there, and wait uncovered, to ask the valet to get our car (which was 10 feet away), run back inside the restaurant, just to watch him start our car and move it 5 feet. We then had to run back outside to get in it! I believe our waiter should've called to get our car so it was ready when we left, but this isn't offered."

  • "My husband and I eat out a lot and we never go out on V Day because it's usually awful so we waited a week this year and chose Artisan. We hadn't gone there before and we are in agreement that this was one of the best - if not THE best - meals we've had in a long time. Exemplary food, great service, and QUIET!! We could actually talk over dinner. Lovely, special - I highly recommend it."

  • "I had lunch at Artisan with a friend. The food, a quiche (Croque, on the menu) was very average,l. It was basically a large chunk of cheese tossed on top of a piece of bread and ham and melted - it simply did not look good and did not taste good at all. I left most of my lunch on the plate. Service was very good, but I will not go back."

  • "In the course of brunch: - One guest's drink order didn't arrive with the others, then the wrong drink was brought instead. - Requested salad dressing on the side didn't arrive with the salad. We had to flag down a different server to ask for it. - Coffee refills were never offered. - After check was presented, server never returned to collect payment. We had to get up and find the hostess to pay the bill. The restaurant was not especially busy. Basically our server disappeared from the dining room for very long stretches. The food and the ambiance were good but poor service spoiled the experience."

  • "We go to Artisan for our anniversary - we should go more, but we like to keep it really special. In full disclosure I'll mentiion that we had an 8pm reservation, but were seated around 9pm. It was a very busy night, but we were presented with complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary and to apologize for the wait. We were seated in our requested spot (a corner booth). Food was outstanding - baked beet salad and tuna tartar followed by artisan beef pot roast and hangar steak. Flavors were delicious, presentation was beautiful, ambience is romantic and cozy. Service is top notch. Also received a complimentary dessert. Lovely touches like this and it's wonderful menu keep us going back. Thanks for a great evening, Artisan!"

  • "Artisan isn't exactly in my neighborhood, but is always well worth the trip. Lunch and dinner are consistently terrific, and I would say a cut above most of the "good" mid-Fairfield County places. The main dining room in particular is beautiful, the tables far enough apart that you can actually have a private conversation. The food is consistently very good: meats prepared to order, soups delicious, and there's a deft hand preparing those well-balanced salad dressings. Of particular note is the service: friendly, polished, attentive people who seem to enjoy pleasing the guests. Artisan has become my #1 choice when we're looking for a better than average dining experience."

  • "Good value but not outstanding, medium-rare prime rib was really medium, crab cake was not lump crab so a bit mushy. We ate in the tavern - the choice of draft beer for a "tavern" was very poor and the bartender clearly did not know how to pour Guinness. Dessert was outstanding"

  • "I was really surprised how excellent artisan was. Service was attentive and intuitive. Food was fresh, perfectly prepared and innovative. The patio area is charming during summer and fall. The bar/lounge was vibrant and the dining room was full but did not feel busy. This is a perfectly oiled machine from hostess stand to check. The beat salad, seafood chowder and chicken are recommended. I also have a friend who swears by their burgers."

Anytime, the restaurant inside is consistent: very good food (not super innovative, but delicious nonetheless), great scene. The only negative is regardless of when your reservation is for, your wait is at least 20 minutes... I guess the "we're cool" stigma... Service is good, but not great."

  • "We arrived early for our Saturday night 8:30 pm reservation and were seated right away at an outdoor table. The dining room, bar and outdoor area are warm, cozy and very relaxed. The wine list is easy to navigate-organized very well and not overwhelming. I had a nice Malbec for 9.00 which is comparable for this area. The menu is varied and has something to please any palate-steak, pasta, pork, venison and fish. The menu stated the skate wing came with "OBB" which my date nor I could decipher so we had to ask-our waitperson's reply was "Orange Brown Butter sauce, everyone has to ask." We thought if everyone has to ask then maybe it shouldn't be abbreviated, but that's an easy fix. Food was hot and delicious, service excellent."

  • "We had our choice of outdoor, torch lit; bar room; or elegant dining room. We chose the latter and opted for the Fairfield Restaurant week menu. The dishes were beautifully prepared.the escargot and mushroom ragu over polenta with Cabernet reduction was awesome, as was the Swiss chard minestrone with crispy egg. Entrees of pasta with venison bolognese was very good, as was the chicken roulade with parsnip purée, although the accompaniment of roasted butternut squash was too blackened for my taste. We would definitely return for dining or even just cocktails and appetizers outside or in the bar."

  • "The service was superb, the ambience was lovely. But the food disappointed us. We tried each of the restaurant week offerings. Appetizers included salmon tartare which was ordinary and a poached egg salad with "bacon" which was alright. The risotto main dish was not very good at all. The branzino fish was a bit dry. Desserts were over the top as expected. overall, we were disappointed to say the least."

  • "went to an early dinner with a 3 month old. service was curteous and prompt, we seleced from the special restaurant week pre fixe menu. the entrees and deserts were great. wine list is a bit on the expensive side. a bottle of Kim Crawford savingoun blanc was $42. the decor is traditinal with a comtemporary flair. definitely will go back."
