We went to Artisan to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a new server, and she did a great job. We had a corner table, so were not impacted by the noise in the bar. I had the beet and leek salad and Fluke, and both were good. The highlight of the meal was the molten lava cake with pistachio ice cream. Fabulous! Overall, our meal was good, but not great. For the price ($180 for the 2 of us), there are better restaurants, including Le Farm, Dressing Room, and Whelk.

The food and meunu choices were wonderful, the best burger, muffin and fries I have ever had. There were so many delicious looking choices on the lunch menu; I had a hard time making a decision on what to order, I will definitely be back for dinner.

On a quiet Monday night, we enjoyed very good food and service. The duck was excellent, as was the goat cheese gnocchi in lamb bolognaise sauce. Oysters were very good but the tomato soup was lacking. The wine list, while interesting, would benefit from a wider price point selection, particularly under $60. The bill was reasonable. The open decor was lovely, but even on a quiet night it was not difficult to hear others, particularly in the bar. All in all, a wonderful evening, and we will be back.

My wife and I went to dinner with another couple to celebrate her birthday (I had called ahead to ask about a Happy Birthday candle/dessert and they confirmed the day prior our dinner.) After a 15 minute wait we were seated in the quieter of the two rooms (recommended, as the other has the bar). Our waiter, from Marseilles, was super helpful and steered us through the menu, so I started with Burrata, followed by fluke and ended with their fluffy vanilla cheesecake; all were stellar. The ahi tuna appetizer was a huge hit as well. Alas, the restaurant forgot our birthday but on the whole the experience was terrific, esp. the cuisine (stellar) and friendly staff, and I would recommend Artisan as it's likely the best restaurant in Fairfield.
