  • "This will be a regular stop for us April & October. The burger is exceptional. Overall great food, service and location."

  • "I love the bloody mary bar-- it's a nice touch compared to what you normally get in Winston at brunch. Food was yummy. Good service. Much better serving sizes and prices compared to my experience at dinner."

  • "My husband and I dined at Artisan for Sunday brunch. We both ordered the Eggs Benedict which was very good. It came with lovely roasted fingerling and sweet potatoes and fresh fruit. (A slice of watermelon, blueberries, raspberries, and a small slice of grapefruit) a delicious and relaxing brunch experience."

  • "We had dinner after a movie at A/perture and it was delicious. It was my second visit to the restaurant but everyone else's first time there. We all had a wonderful meal. The staff was courteous and attentive. We will definitely go back!"

  • "Our party of six enjoyed immensely our dinner at Artisan Restaurant. Each of our dishes was delicious and unique. Beet salad was exceptional! Thank you for a lovely dining experience."

  • "I have eaten at Artisan three times and each time am more impressed. Their small plates are creative and delicious; we particularly like the deviled eggs with chorizo, the beet salad was awesome. Their specials are just that; this visit I had a pan seared grouper with shrimp and sweet potatoes - delicious! We love that the entrees are just the right portion - not too much that you overeat but not skimpy either. Service is attentive and efficient."

  • "Thanks for a terrific anniversary dinner! The hangar steak was delicious and our bottle of "Freakshow" was a great recommendation!"

  • "Service was friendly. Sweet ambience. Food was very nice. Local and in season. We were pleased with the reasonable portion sizes. Pricing was reasonable as well. We will definitely return!"

  • "Ambiance- tables around the door are especially chilly. Need a way to block the cold air from coming in. The whole restaurant is a bit chilly as well. Service is excellent and the food is amazing!"

  • "Go to this restaurant. Even simple preparations are spot on. Pan roasted chicken is worth repeating. A chocolate panna cotta a smooth ending."

  • "Fourth Street now has a number of fun venues in attractive urban spaces. Here that is joined with creatively prepared disease with well sourced ingrediates at a fair price . The wines are enjoyable very good & reasonably priced"

  • "Very imaginative food, although menu somewhat limited in seafood. Wine list is not extensive although everything is available by the glass and they try to have a little bit of each significant varietal. Food quality was very high. Service was hit or miss; either checking on you every 5 minutes or gone for 30 minutes at a time. People very friendly and otherwise accommodating. We will likely consider this a place to consider when we go to Winston-Salem."

  • "It was my fiance's bday. I put a note in the reservation indicating that, and they wished her a happy bday as soon as we walked in. They made her feel special with a candle in the dessert. Otherwise the food and wine were excellent."

  • "Reasonably priced good food. Very good service. While the entree portions appeared to be small the 5 of us struggled to finish the 2 portions of the superb chocolate panna cotta that we ordered. I had a very tasty lobster grits entree. The others had steak and salmon and everyone's food disappeared without any complaints. At our waitress' suggestion we combined the charcuterie and the cheese board for a very satisfying app."

  • "We had a family dinner at Artisan last Saturday. We were seated right away. Wait staff was very friendly. Food was good. My 14-year old son had some difficulty cutting his pan roasted chicken. Our waiter saw it and immediately came over and asked whether he need a sharper steak knife. Overall, it is a good experience dinning at Artisan, good food, artistic decoration, friendly wait staff."

  • "Good food choices, well prepared. Service was prompt and eager. Not much in the way of wine choices but drinkable. Had plenty of time to eat and make theater."

  • "We originally had a 6 top reservation, however one of the couples cancelled, therefore I called the restaurant about 30 minutes prior to the seating and let them know. When we arrived, we were given a 4 top cocktail table that was right in front of the door. Everytime the door opened, a cold wind would engulf us. The Server was extremely overbearing - from the initial drinks to the appetizer through to the bill - he would not allow us to relax and converse with our guests. It seemed he had somewhere to be and needed to turn the table. If we could have a normal table in the midst of the restaurant with a better server, we would definitely go back."

  • "My wife and I had Valentine's dinner here just this past weekend, and we could not have been more impressed! My cocktail was a Revolver, a unique blend of bourbon, kahlua, bitters, and an orange peel that was delicious. My wife had a classic vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives that was served perfectly. We both had the specials: the Beef Tenderloin and the Maine Lobster tail. Both entrees were outstanding, cooked perfectly, with fresh sides like parsnip purée, fingerling potatoes, jumbo asparagus, and tomatoes, all of which were very fresh and colorful! We'll definitely be making a trip back soon!"

  • "Menu items were few and pricey. Food portions were too small for the price charged. the server was polite, answered questions and provided good service. We left this restaurant and stopped at another one to finish out the evening. the atmosphere was OK, not great. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not return because of the prices and food portions."

  • "I found out about the chef at an auction for March of Dimes. His take on food stood out amongst the other chefs / restaurants in the area. Since then I have been to his restaurant twice. Each time was delicious. This last time was for Valentines day and the meals were fantastic. I had the lamb and my lady had the featured entree, beef tenderloin. We shared the fatback app. Seriously good food and very good service."

  • "Artisan continues to complement downtown food experience. Smack in the middle of restaurant row we may now enjoy excellent casual fine dining across from a great arts cinema!"

  • "High prices food for the quantity/quality...$8 eggplant appetizer was overpriced..."

  • "We went to artisan during the big eat for the scallop special and we were very disappointed. The entree had 3 scallops and 2 fingerling potatoes and that is it. The scallops were good, but we were still very hungry when we left. The ambiance was nice but we were not impressed and are not likely to return soon. I'm just glad we paid $12 for the entree instead of $24!"

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our birthday and wanted to visit Artisan. It was a great dining experience! The food was delicious and the service was awesome!"

  • "I've been to Artisan a couple of times - and each time, the food was okay - nothing spectacular but still tasty. Although, the service has been really slow each time - and on my last visit, the waiter was just plain rude. He was snarky and not polite - perhaps he was having an 'off' day, but it's still not an excuse. Perhaps the service problems Artisan has is because it's still relatively new but I will not be returning."

  • "We tried the Artisan Restaurant for the first time this week, and can guarantee we will be back. My husband and I both got the pan-seared salmon and it was divine. It was the best salmon I have tasted in my life. Not kidding, it was that amazing! For an appetizer we tried the deviled eggs and they were really outstanding too. The service was also excellent, the decor was lovely, and words just don't do this place justice. I highly recommend you try it."

  • "This past Tues evening, a couple of friends and I came here for dinner. The design and ambience of the restaurant was creative and relaxed. We all had the salmon special and we all enjoyed it. The service was friendly, efficient but not overly intrusive. We would go there again."

  • "I think that since entrance to the NYE party at the millennium was included with the price of dinner at the artisan, it was a good value. The party was great, but wish that a table reservation would have been included at the millennium as well. Ended up standing the whole evening. Really enjoyed dinner though."

  • "My wife and I were in town for a few days for a training seminar and tried the Artisan on a Tuesday night. The place wasn't busy but seemed to have several locals in and a group in the back. We sat at a high table near the bar along the window and enjoyed watching the pedestrian traffic outside. The food was outstanding and the service fast and friendly but the portions were small and as a result we left wanting more."

  • "Consistently lovely and delicious food, great service, pretty atmosphere. My husband had the pan-roasted chicken entrée which he loved with the parsnip puree. I had the spinach salad which was special with the pistachios and strawberries. Becoming one of our favorite downtown spots."

  • "Nice post-Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night. Entrée' menu is varied nicely, but not very deep (i.e. one chicken, one fish, one beef, one lamb, one shellfish) but we all had very nice dishes. All around relaxing evening meal with two teenagers so that is huge bonus."
