We celebrated our niece's 21st bday here and it was a delightful event. It was a bit hard to get our water glasses refilled, but the really delicious food and friendly waiter and beautiful setting made up for that. I asked the manager inside if he could send a little something out to celebrate the birthday and then he sent another waiter out to clarify what I had asked - in front of the birthday girl. Weird. They did bring a beautiful little plate of strawberries and a pretty Happy Birthday chocolate, so it was fine. But it was kind of funny to not understand the typical birthday request. Maybe they were frustrated that we didn't order dessert? I would definitely return, especially for a nice lunch on the terrace.

Great food! Wonderful patio dining! The gazpacho soup is amazing. Everything we had in two visits was remarkable. The service is impeccable and personal, from the bartenders and wait staff to Bill, the owner, who makes you feel like a guest in his home. We will be making this our "go to" spot!

Our dinner was overall a disappointment. The grouper lacked flavor and the white beans accompaning them did nothing to enhance it. My three scallops were delicious. We waited 25 min for a glass of wine after ordering it.We all arrived home hungry after spending $200 on dinner for four people.

We recently celebrated a birthday brunch at Artisan Bistro, and I'd specified in my online reservation that it was a birthday, mentioned it to the maitre 'd, and the menu was printed w. our brithday gal's name at the top, which was a nice touch - but when our dessert came, there was no candle - our waiter, who was very nice said that he hadn't been told. It was remedied after, but a bit embarrassing at first. Also our dishes took quite a while to appear after we ordered, and our waiter came to apologize and said it was coming out soon. Otherwise, the food was very good, and the dining room was quiet enough that we could hear each other.

This little bistro in Lafayette has made us happy so many times. Their food is exceptional and the wine selection is just the right size. If you order a medium rare steak, that is exactly what is served. We ordered the seasonal grilled peach salad to start and shared. It was so good. The French Fries are to die for and great for sharing at the table. We do not hesitate to recommend this little gem to all our foodie freinds. The service was friendly but very professional. We loved our waiter.

This like a piece of San Francisco thrown into our neighborhood without all the traffic and parking problems. The food always tastes and appears to be delivered and handled with care and expertise. Local and fresh. Creative and never boring. The mussels with the extra tang of vinegar reminds me of Paris. The seared scallops were prepared to perfection and hit all the right notes. The stuffed squash blossoms were delicately stuffed with a very mild but flavorful goat cheese. All was divine as usual.

We've been going to this restaurant since it first opened. Saturday's dinner was for our anniversary, for which we were e-mailed a coupon for two complimentary glasses of champagne and a free desert to share. Never did get the champagne, and the sorbet was terrible. The service was marginal, at best, which was a surprise since service has always been very good. The food was good, as always. This restaurant has become very successful, and with it a "move them in, move them out" way of doing business. I wish them the best, but I'm not going back. The charm, and the personal service are gone. There's more to a dinning experience than food.

What an experience this little restaurant offers. We gave this place a shot a few months ago, and had an incredible time. The food was great, the atmosphere was so French and romantic, and the staff really takes care of you. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you go in, it is a stylish atmosphere. We returned to eat here for my fiancé's birthday two months after the first time, and the maître “D remembered us! He told my fiancée that her hair color changed, and he was right! Her dessert had a chocolate plaque saying “Happy Birthday” and at the end of the meal she received a menu as a memento with a birthday card offering a complimentary glass of wine upon her return. Classy place, we love it!

If you are searching for a romantic meal with your (actual or potential) significant other in the East Bay area I seriously doubt you can do any better. You have to try this place and really see what a great dining experience it is. Enjoy a glass of wine or two! This is the type of restaurant that you relax and enjoy your company for a bit before eating because your meal is prepared once you order it, so it could take a little longer that other places, but this shows how fresh everything is. From appetizers to desserts everything is outstanding! Try it; you will be happy you did. I have to go with 5 stars because this lovely establishment has great atmosphere, excellent service and (most importantly) amazing cuisine. Awesome!!!

We went to Artisan for my birthday. The food is unbelievably delicious and the service was excellent. If you want an intimate dinner with friends or a romantic dinner with a date, this is a great restaurant. It's dim and filled with candles, so bring your significant other here. As for the food, it is by far the most authentic French food I've tried. It is not cheap, but the quality is worth it. For appetizers, I highly recommend the octopus, beet salad and the corn soup is to die for. Parking is not bad but arrive early and you'll most likely find a spot around the neighboring areas.

Très Bien! Wow, Amazing! Artisan is the most authentic French restaurant in all of the Bay Area. The only reason I can say that other than the fact I've been to France a few times is that's what the Frenchie I was dinning with stated. It also helps the Chef was trained by the best in the business, such as Thomas Keller, Daniel Patterson, Julian Serrano, Daniel Boulud and more top notch chefs.

We had dinner here with a friend the other night. Vita was our server and she was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make some good suggestions for us. The gazpacho had a cucumber sorbet in the middle that was amazing. Never had gazpacho as good as this before. My husband had a roast salmon that was very good - it was very tender and moist. The steak that I had was also prepared perfectly. For dessert we shared a chocolate cake. While it was good, it wasn't the highlight of the meal.

Cute restaurant in a converted charming old house; there’s always French music playing so ambiance feels more authentic. The waiters are all professionals and very knowledgeable.
