  • "Food too cute, lots of sous vide, but overall a little disappointing"

  • "Excellent food and service. Would recommend highly for special occasions. Rib eye steak was great."

  • "We tried this charming little restaurant for the first time and loved everything except.. 1. It was very warm inside and did not appear to have A/C. 2. They don't have Creme Brûlée!! But we did love everything else and they do an awesome job with their vegetable dishes. We will return but will wait for cooler weather!"

  • "We had dinner here with a friend the other night. Vita was our server and she was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make some good suggestions for us. The gazpacho had a cucumber sorbet in the middle that was amazing. Never had gazpacho as good as this before. My husband had a roast salmon that was very good - it was very tender and moist. The steak that I had was also prepared perfectly. For dessert we shared a chocolate cake. While it was good, it wasn't the highlight of the meal."

  • "Artisan Bistro is one of my favorite lunch spots. They always acknowledge "special occasions" and go out of their way to please. Recently, I was somewhat disappointed by the Maine Lobster salad, entree portion. You had to hunt to find any lobster, except for the piece on top. Generally, the food is wonderful, and the service is fabulous. As I was entertaining my sister, I chose not to question the preparation. Thank you"

  • "We had a very nice dinner at Artisan Bistro. It is in an old house off Mt. Diablo Boulevard that was converted to a restaurant many years ago and has had a series of restaurants there over time. There isn't much of a bar itself, about 5 seats, so not recommended just for drinks. That said, they do have a great menu of special cocktails and a fine wine list. The place is intimate, but not fancy. A nice "suburban" feel. Food is very good and service reasonably attentive. It is a small place with a good feel. Nice spot to take your wife or a date if you want some conversation as the noise level is moderate. A good spot to try for a mid week dinner."

  • "An innovative and delicious menu with food prepared elegantly. Everything was gourmet, but not fussy or pretentious. Menu items were original, but still classic. The meal was very tasty and satisfying. Great choices and great food. The prix fix dinner is an excellent deal."

  • "We all had the wild salmon, each one of us wanted it done differently and all came out perfect. For dessert we had the special coffee crème Brule, fabulous!"

  • "Went for my daughter's 20th birthday because it's her favorite spot.... mine too! Had the tempura blossoms, beet salad, scallops, and finished it off with the coffee creme brullet."

  • "My wife and I came here for her birthday and we were very happy with the whole of the experience. I made the reservation without my wives name, so when we arrived they asked her name and reprinted a menu with her name on it for her birthday, such a great step of service. Thank you team, keep up the good work."

  • "Artisan Bistro treated us as if we were their only table. They printed my friend's name on the menu to wish her happy birthday. The dessert plate was personalized and the food was fantastic. We will definately go there again for a special occasion."

  • "Artisan has always had great food but Wednesday night's first course was beyound amazing. Instead of the usual chunk of avocado in the middle of the bowl, the chef had prepared a cucumber sorbet which had a touch of sweetness. The combination of the dense, rich tomato soup with the cold, crystalline sorbet was extraordinary. We ate it very, very slowly. What a delicious dinner."

  • "The service was excellent. The food was delicious, artistic looking and beautifully presented. This is a great place for a special occasion. If it's your birthday or a special event, they put your name on the menu--a nice touch."

  • "Unpretentious, comfy, authentic, nice plates, bold flavors, and a nice retreat from the state of the art/complex food scene in San Francisco. You feel as if you are dinning somewhere in the town center of Perpignan in the south of France or a suburb of Paris up north. Excellent wine list and great selection of cocktails. I'm afraid to write this glowing review of Artisan Bistro as I want it to remain the secret gem that it is! This place is pitch perfect and cozy."

  • "My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and found out about Artisan from my mother in law who is well educated in fine dining! We were quite comfortable with her choice. The host gave us two choices as to where we would like to be seated as opposed to being told what they had available. We chose the room with the fireplace as it was warm and had great ambiance. The waitress was very attentive and we were very happy with our food choices."

  • "This was our first time here, and we were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. The place is very romantic and the service was wayyyy above average!! Our waitress was great, very personable, and funny too! We enjoyed him so much that we will be asking for him next time we go.. Bring your wallet for the prices are high, but SOOOOOO worth it. The food was unbelievable!!! I cannot say enough about this place. The host is very pleasant and kind. Definitely worth checking this place out. I am so glad we did!"

  • "I have eaten both lunch and dinner at the Artisan Bistro in the last two weeks. The menus are different but imaginative. The food is delicious. The bartender is very knowledgeable and the staff congenial. All items are made of fresh with recognizable ingredients and appear to be cooked to order. The presentations are attractive, though not show-off arty. I would recommend this restaurant to both simple and sophisticated diners. Both would feel welcome."

Artisan menu is meticulously selected and each dish was carefully crafted and every flavor deliciously matches. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves quality food and enjoys a romantic yet worldly setting."

  • "We now go to Artisan about once a month and love it. If I didn't travel for work so much, it would probably be weekly. The food is great, the service is great, and its just as comfortable dressed-down as it is dressed-up."

  • "Artisan Bistro is located in a former private house with a charming shaded patio (hidden from street view) in the front. The restaurant has several small rooms which feel cozy. All the courses were beautifully presented and were inventive in the combination of ingredients. My only reservation about Artisan is the cost. The delicious dinner for two which included 2 appetizers,2 mains, 1 side, 1 dessert and two glasses of wine was almost $150. We did not order the most expensive items on the menu. This is a "special occasion" restaurant."

  • "I visited Artisan Bistro for the first time for a birthday celebration of a good friend and I must say it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The customer service was great, the waiter was attentive and advised us perfectly on the wine and food, the birthday acknowledgement was over the top! And the bread pudding was to die for! We will definitely come here again and recommend it to all our friends."

  • "This is a restaurant truly worth trying, regardless of where you live in the greater North Bay/Bay Area. I don't think I have every had better gazpacho even in Spain, and our entrees were really delicious. This is a kitchen that obsiously loves cooking and takes great pride in what comes out. Service was flawless, and our server, Joe, was friendly and very professional. One final word: the wine list is very well put together with a nice range of whites and reds for every taste, and our server had perfect recommendations. If you are in a spirits mood, then the full bar makes a very pleasing Vodka Gimlet and, amazingly enough, Picso Sours, the national cocktail of Peru."

  • "First time here for brunch; excellent beef and lobster salad with adequate portion size; sweet potato fries was as good as before but needed to ask for the special sauce this time; though corn soup was too sweet for my taste"

  • "Artisan Bistro is one of my favorite dining experiences. The food preparation and superb taste makes your dining experience a memorable occasion. The menu choices are excellent. The staff makes you feel like family but give you space to enjoy your time alone. The staff also follows up to make sure you understand every option and are not waiting for the next step. For couples, the atmosphere is very romantic. If you are dining for business purposes, the atmosphere is quiet and your space is not crowded. Artisan is a gem in Lafayette. You should cherish the experience"

  • "From the host to the waiter to the bus boy the attitude and service were very patron-oriented. They went out of their way to even adjust the umbrella to shade us more fully from a hot early evening sun. Our waiter gave very detailed assessments of the appetizers and his recommendation to have the gazpacho was absolutely correct. He also helped to steer us towards an absolutely delicious scallops entrée. He perfectly matched wines for our entrees based on preferences we gave him. A special note, while many restaurants these days insist on removing the plates as each diner finishes their meal at different times, the staff actually noticed that one of us was not finished, and backed away, leaving us more appropriately with plates for each."
