The Artichoke Cafe was reopened in 1989 by Pat and Terry Keene. Pat, who was formally trained in New York City, is executive chef and Terry has 30 years experience in restaurant management. Their dedication to the best in food, wine, and service has made this 120 seat restaurant one of Albuquerque's… finest dining spots. Its downtown location on Route 66 in the Historic Huning Highland/EDO District, cozy modern decor and rotating art exhibits add panache and charm to its ambience. "I would prefer the menu to have more lighter options. I was disappointed that most of the choices on the menu were very rich, and this does not bode well with my digestive system. I was also disappointed that my food seemed rather salty. On the upside, the service was very good."

"We had a memorable dinner here. Since we were 4 adults and a 5 year old, they put us in a room off the beaten path. Though there were other tables in the room, we had it all to ourselves and loved it!!! Our dinners were delicious. I had salmon and the favors in the sauce underneath plus the exotic taste of the corn shoot topping were lovely. To make it a perfect evening,we had a charming and attentive wait person named Denise. We look forward to dining here again."

"We dined at Artichoke Cafe due to Open Table recommendations and it was near our hotel. We were promptly seated upon arrival and the service was attentive without being intrusive over the evening. I had a very nice chicken breast with tomatillo in the sauce and my wife had a fish special. We also had cocktails and a half bottle of wine, followed by dessert. There was a minor faux pas with my wife's order which was quickly remedied without issue. The food quality was high and ingredients were fresh, including local sources. We would highly recommend this restaurant to locals and visitors."

"Food and wine are excellent! Sitting in the back rooms makes a world of difference in noise levels. Front is noisy, but there is an excitement that goes with the energy. The back rooms are quiet and relaxing - good for the digestion!"
