Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great dining experience at this restaurant. The food was great as was the service. I would certainly dine here again, also would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We are regulars at Art but had never tried the clam chowder until this past week. It was fantastic! It is non-traditional - it arrives "deconstructed" and then the broth is added at your table. Some of the ingredients differ from the usual chowder (greens, for example), but the result is incredibly good. The pork cheeks were another great new find."

  • "This is one of our favorite places to meet for lunch. I think what a place does for restaurant week tells you a lot about the place. The restaurant week special (3 course for $15) was excellent with a good variety of choices. The Herb-crusted cod was exceptionally good. The dining room was full, but service remained efficient and friendly, as always."

  • "Two of had lunch and were very impressed. The food was excellent and so was the service. "

  • "Art is an elegant, classy restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. The ambiance is quiet and serene, the music was soft jazz (a la Bill Evans), the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was creative and very well prepared. "

  • "Trying this during Seattle restaurant week was a good bargain - probably would save future, full-priced visits for very special occasions, as it is pricey. Service was attentive, and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The pork cheeks were possibly the most tender pork I have ever eaten. Valet parking is normally $21 for 1-2 hours, but you can pre-pay at the restaurant for $9, making it a reasonable option. "

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at ART Restaurant. The food was well prepared and presented beautifully. Service was excellent from the time we entered the building to the time we left. "

  • "we went for restaurant week was a great pre-fixed dinner and nice choices..we would defiantly go again ..there bar looked really nice and they have a happy hour I think 7 days a week. "

  • "This is a great lunch spot for those working downtown, especially if conducting business while dining. The atmosphere is modern, yet serene, light filled and surprisingly quiet, even when the restaurant was full. The staff couldn't be more attentive and efficient. We were able to get in and out during the lunch hour without feeling rushed."

  • "My boyfriend surprised me with dinner at Art for our 1 year anniversary and I must say the customer service and food was above and beyond. I would highly recommend this to anyone for dinner or any special event. Includes Valet parking for dinner. And again the best service ever."
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "The great customer service and hospitality began from the minute we reached the valet service, continued on to the hostess of ART and was exceeded again by our great server. He was extremely polite, friendly and even learned a little Spanish along with us."

  • "Having had dinner at Art on several occasions, and been pleased with both food and service, I did not hesitate to try them for Sunday brunch. The food was fine, nothing remarkable, and the service was slow and inattentive. I expected much more based on prior experience, their reputation, location (Four Seasons) and price point. I am not sure if this was a one time anomaly, if brunch is not their thing, or is there are larger issues as play, but given my experience Sunday, I will try somewhere else for brunch, and I may think twice about returning for dinner."

  • "We have been coming here for years. We recently tried the roast chicken for the first time and it was fantastic. The latest version of the gnocchi with spring peas is fabulous. There are many other good items on the menu, but these are at the top of the list at the moment."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "Only one thing to say. Overall does not get better than this place."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We go to Art fairly frequently. The new spring menu is excellent! The scallops are very nicely done and several of the newer salads and appetizers are great. Service is always friendly and efficient, and they are always willing to split plates between two people. The wine list is excellent with many interesting Northwest and other selections."

  • "The recent trend in Seattle to put excellent restaurants in downtown hotels is good and bad. Its great that downtown has better food. Its bad that some of my favorite chefs are serving their food in hotel atmospheres, which reminds me of work related travel. In others I hate the ambience. But setting aside the atmosphere the food here is awesome and very vegetarian friendly. I had the excellent arugula salad and gnocchi with mushrooms. As a vegetarian, it was a joy to read the mouth-watering menu with ample selections to choose from. Why can't the restaurant feel more like Earth and Ocean - my best example of a hotel restaurant that still appealed as a restaurant?"

  • "Nice ambiance, somewhat of a view, limited brunch menu. Great location for activities downtown."

  • "This is an expensive, high-end restaurant in one of Seattle's most expensive hotels, the Four Seasons. We had a reservation for 2 at 6:30. I called at 5pm to see if we could move our time up to 6pm. I was told it wasn't possible. We arrived at 6:15 and were told to wait in the lobby until our table was ready. At 6:30, we were ushered into a half-empty dining room and seated one table over from a family of five, including a crying baby and a loud, squirming toddler. NOTE: I am a mother. I like kids. I often took my little one out to dine, but not at a fine dining$$$$ high-end restaurant. I felt bad for the kids, bad for the patrons, and annoyed at the parents.... But the real issue for me was the empty room and us left waiting in the lobby"

  • "For fine dining in Seattle, Art Restaurant is a must. It's elegant but low key, and the food is amazing."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "I have eaten at ART quite a number of times, both at lunch and at dinner. The food ranges from good to excellent, but too often lately, it is just good when it should be better. Menu items are sometimes interesting and inventive, sometimes just well-made but without anything special about them. We talked over dinner about how much better the Georgian Room was at the Old Four Seasons (and still is, for that matter). In my experience the food there is uniformly excellent."

  • "Food was pretty good along with the service. The waitress was so quite we could hardly hear her. We ordered a side with the meal, which didn't show up. The waitress said there was a mistake somewhere. It showed up after we had finished our meals. They did not offer to compensate for the screw up, which other quality restaurants do."

  • "Art has great food and a quiet atmosphere. My friends and I enjoyed being able to talk in a normal voice and not shout over the din of a restaurant. It wasn't so quiet that you could hear other's conversations, just pleasantly calm and quiet."
    Dined on 2/6/2014
  • "We eat at Art fairly regularly. We had a great dinner this past week, with the smoked salmon appetizer, the gnocchi, and the steelhead trout being the stars. The chocolate cake with a side of Douglas fir sorbet was excellent! Service is always friendly and efficient, and the bar is a great place for after work."

  • "Presentation was artsy and very fitting. Our waitress was attentive and kind."

  • "ART restaurant was one of the best meals I have had in Seattle. We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We made a reservation and the staff was so thoughtful in recognizing the celebration we were having. They brought us a specialty dessert for his birthday and throughout the meal we had great service and food recommendations from our waiter. I cannot wait to return to this restaurant and I would recommend it to everyone."

  • "A very classy and friendly atmosphere - everyone from the receptionist to the waiter and water servers were very attentive to our needs. Noise level was low so that we could enjoy our conversations without having to raise our voice. The food well presented and well prepared. Our special occasion was acknowledged in every ways. I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent overall service, ambiance and food."

  • "We ate at Art before going to the symphony. It was amazing. The food was great, as was the service. When they found out that we were going to the symphony, they made sure we had plenty of time without rushing us. There is a pretty view of the water. I really like how nice every one was and how special they made us feel. And, as I said, the food was wonderful"

  • "Art never disappoints with it's food or service. From the time you get out of the car until the time you leave, you'll have fabulous service. The menu is always changing, which is never a bad thing and we always seem to find a new favorite."

  • "This restaurant is inside the Four Seasons. The fish I had was good. The service was good-I would likely go once a year or so only though as there are some other great formal eateries in Seattle such as Canlis for example."

  • "The view was interesting, but aside from the smoked salmon the food was unimpressive."

  • "Our group had a wonderful dining experience. The menu selections for our Amazon Local offer were great. Enough variety to satisfy everyone at the table. The food is beautifully presented and the service is impeccable. Lovely view of the Big Wheel."

  • "We spent a Christmas Eve morning just to ourselves - having an intimate breakfast here. My husband wanted to see how they did their juicing and the waiter and the kitchen staff cheerfully accomodated him. We love their museli! We had wonderful, friendly service! Thank you!"

  • "Phenomenal service. Food was surprisingly a little bland, but the excellent service made up for it!"
    Dined on 12/23/2013
  • "The service is what you would expect of the Four Seasons, with every attention to detail taken care, from placing our coats in a secure area to folding our napkins when we left the table for a moment. It was outstanding and we felt very pampered by the friendly staff. It was perfect for our special night out as a family for the holidays. The special homemade ice creams were wonderful for desert as were the freshly made donut holes, even though it was a bit surprising as a menu item at an upscale restaurant."

  • "What a lovely restaurant to dine! Food, service and ambiance were perfect for us. Good for groups. Romantic for a special occasion. Chef Kerry Sear is doing a fantastic job with the kitchen creations!"

  • "Having been to Art many times before the quality seems to have gone down hill. The host told us our table was not ready when we walked back to the bar and look into the resturant there where plenty of tables. I am ok with them trying to sell you a drink while you wait but don't forget my name and make we wait 15 past my reservation and make me come find you to be seated. The fish was clearly previously frozen. When the food came out I have never had a piece of fish that was so hot in the middle that you had to let it cool to eat it... Something's fishy there. There view is great hope they turn it around soon"

  • "this is our new favorite restaurant. we need someplace close for the concerts at benaroya. my husband was tired of wild ginger and we LOVED everything about this place"

  • "Although Seattle traffic made us very late past our reserved time, we were warmly greeted, and service throughout the evening was excellent. Our server was attentive throughout our entire experience. The meal was also quite good. We chose Art because the Purple Café could not accommodate our schedule. I would rate this restaurant more favorably than Purple. We now have a new favorite on nights that we attend the symphony."
