A word from Arro
Arro is the latest endeavor from ELM Restaurant Group (24 Diner, Easy Tiger Bake Shop & Beer Garden). At the helm of this casual French spot is ELM’s executive chef/partner, Andrew Curren, accompanied by his wife, pastry chef Mary Catherine Curren.

The focus of Chef Drew’s kitchen is a wood-fired grill, and he will continue his philosophies of preparing all food to exacting standards in house and incorporating local and organic products whenever possible. This commitment has earned him many accolades from local press as well as mentions in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit and Saveur magazines. Mary Catherine and her team will craft a thoughtful menu of both traditional and seasonal desserts on site, and bread will be baked fresh daily at Easy Tiger.

The exclusively French wine list was curated by two master sommeliers: Craig Collins and Devon Broglie. Classic apéritifs and handcrafted cocktails, as well as a thoughtful selection of beers, are available.

Diner Reviews
  • "Service and food are very good but the noise level is unacceptable."

  • "Beautiful restaurant...loved the ambiance. The food was extraordinary! Even our simplest dish, herb salad, was surprisingly delicious...so refreshing! We received some of the best service ever. Brandon was exceptional...very knowledgeable and so pleasant. I would absolutely recommend the place :)"

  • "My family went to Arro for my birthday dinner. The service was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful with the wine and meal selections, and was spot on. The food was inventive and beautiful. We all got the 3 course prix fixe meal, which is an incredible value. And we also tried two of the cheese pairings. Love this place, will definitely be back. Only slight negative is that there was a large party in the garden room that was a bit noisy."

  • "Try Arro. Flounder was terrific, the arugula with seasonal peaches salad was great. Had Kronenbourg 1664 beer on tap. Only drawback were the poor acoustics made the room very loud."

  • "We've had great experiences in both our visits to Arro. The service, the food, the drinks etc. Will definitely return this winter when they bring back the beef bourguignon, my favorite. On recent visit had the a cheese platter with delicious butters and breads. Steak frites was good, fries were awesome. Top notch, friendly waiter who helped us make solid beer and wine and choices."

  • "Happy hour at Arro is great, but it gets very noisy fast. There is a patio so I'll ask for table there next time. The prices are good and the service great. Just very loud when it gets full. Lots of bar business."

  • "What this restaurant lacked in service, it made up in the quality of the food. Our dinner was good and tasty. The service was below par. The waiter was incomprehensible at times and we had barely started our bread plate with accouterments when he brought out the starters. I pointed out that he was early and that there wasn't much room left on the tiny dinner table but that didn't deter him and he somehow managed to stack it on there. Fortunately we finished those dishes before the main course came but I'm sure he would have found a way to stack those up as well if needed. The ambiance is noisy, the furniture is uncomfortable, the dining tables are too small, but the food was really good."

  • "Arro was so receptive and willing to go above and beyond to make our dinner special. We came in earlier and preselected a few bottles of wine (Scott Ota is fantastic and I truly recommend a conversation with him if it pertains to wine). We happened to arrive early and our table was already set and the champagne was chilled and awaiting us upon seating. Rian was a phenomenal server and knowledgeable about the entire menu as well as continuing on Scott's fantastic wine selections to pair with our meal. We left full and happy and all seven agreed that we will be returning in the very near future. Congrats Elm Restaurant group on another great spot in Austin."

  • "We went for the food and were not disappointed. The service was excellent. Great charcuterie board followed by duck and tuna. We will be back!"

  • "Amazing dining experience that impressed all of the senses. A very warm thank you to the very gracious host and all of the staff. Our girl night out was extra special"

  • "Arro is consistently an amazing dining experience. Thanks to the truly talented chef, the flavors and presentation of the food are professionally perfect. Arro is known for its great selection of wines carefully selected by two well known Somms who are on the floor nearly all the time to help with selection and enhance the enjoyment of the whole experience. We seldom get dessert; however, if you skip this at Arro you are missing out as it has an amazingly talented pastry chef presenting some delightful mixes of sweet endings. Of course, no matter how good the food and the wine are its Arro's friendly and efficient servers that pull it all together for fine, yet casual dining, in a beautiful atmosphere."

  • "We ate at Arro to celebrate a very special occasion. The food and service were both spectacular."

  • "Three cheers for Arro! Not only was the food outstanding, our server Brandon was a quite possibly the best I have encountered. We enjoyed a cheese board, then followed that up with a delicious lobster bisque. For our entrees we had the roasted chicken and the grilled quail, both of which were amazing. Flavorful and prefectly cooked. Overall, we would highly recommend Arro."

  • "The food and service were outstanding. The place needs just to have maintenance on the AC, since the temperature was a little bit high"

  • "Loved the pork here and the Niçoise salad and Steak Frittes are fantastic. I was looking for a pretty cool, hip place with good food and also a bar. Great ambiance here as well. Our waiter was nice, but not very good, other than that everything was fantastic! Great drinks too!"

  • "The food was not anything memorable. Everything we had was good but not great. The service we received was outstanding from the hostess/greeters to wait staff. Everyone was nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Would enjoy going back to Arro for the atmosphere."

  • "I was very pleased at the look/feel of the restaurant - open, airy, sexy. Menu was appealing with many things I wanted to try. Food prices seemed reasonable until I was served the portion. $9 lobster bisque soup, $10 peach salad that was LITERALLY 1/2 a peach and some lettuce. $26 duck breast that was just about a 4oz portion. I will go back, but maybe as an entree-only option, because to be full, it's quite the financial commitment."

  • "Very delicious and light summer meal. The wine list is of note."

  • "This was our first time to dine there and it exceeded our expectations, but I shouldn't have expected anything less from Craig and April Collins! They definitely have a winner with Arro!! Congratulations Craig and April!!"

  • "We enjoyed the food and wine at Arro, our first time there, but it was very noisy and not just from the two families with children we were adjacent to. We were in the "garden" area. I would hesitate to go back on a weekend night or I might try it but very early (then again, that's when the small children might be there). We were comped a dessert because of the noise but we had already ordered dessert …."

  • "My wife an I went here for my birthday and it was wonderful. Typical French fare done outstandingly well. Their Lobster bisque was probably the best I've had. They feature breads, meats, and cheeses from Easy Tiger, which means all three are amazing. The waitstaff was impeccable, attending to our needs before we noticed, being present without overbearing. The Seafood Stew was great! Profiteroles are a must-have."

  • "The happy hour offering is amazing! Superb French wine at palatable prices; half off all glasses, cheese and bread between 5 and 7. We didn't opt for herb butter after ordering bread for two, and so we were pleasantly surprised with the house whipped butter that paired perfectly with a baguette from Easy Tiger. I've had the Smoked Trout salad twice, probably the best salad I've ever laid a fork into. And without much of a sweet tooth, the Almond cake proved to be a great choice for dessert...just the right amount of sugar and plenty of flavor. The service was both comfortable and professional...each glass of wine was poured at the table and we were informed that a sommelier was on hand if we had any questions. Parfait."

  • "My dinner at Arro was the most memorable dining experience I have experienced in Austin, and the best in the past year or two! From the initial contact with the server, right through to the final drop of wine the experience was truly exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant without reservation."

  • "We started off with the chef's board which is 1/2 off during happy hour. The board was a thoughtful blend of rustic breads, creamy Brie and other meaty offerings with whipped butter and rhubarb jelly. We also tried the decadent roasted duck which is a must try. Save room for dessert! What better way to end a meal with a glass of their Malbec paired with the chocolate pot de creme. Our waitress was friendly, timely and knowledgeable about the food and wine menu."

  • "Arro appears to be enjoying that peak in popularity that new places often reach. The main room was VERY loud. Fortunately, the smaller glassed in sunroom area was much better, although it got louder as more patrons were seated there. So much for the white glove critique. Our waitress, Monica, I think, was a total sweetheart. Friendly, attentive, informed and informing. The sea stew is exquisite, with unique and subtle flavors. The amberjack was good, but inadequately attired on the plate. Monica's recommendation re the bubbly was a winner; the choice of red wine by the glass was acceptable. Arro could offer more choices of wine by the glass. All the wines are French. We will return. We found parking on the street within two blocks."

  • "We went to Arro to celebrate my husbands birthday and happened upon their own 1 year anniversary celebration. The dinner special they were offering was fantastic. The food was wonderful as always."

  • "Great service from server as well as Som! He was very accommodating of my wine requests and allowed me to taste a variety if wines. Chef s's board was delicious, enjoyed the bread from Easy Tiger. Tartare was the best I've had in Austin, well seasoned and great quality. Trout salad fell flat in comparison. I would say the fish was over salted. Dessert was ok. Pastry seemed dry and cream seemed old."

  • "I have been to Arro twice before and loved it. We had an enjoyable night on our last visit. The appetizers were great! We were a little disappointed with our entrees. I had the seafood stew and it was definitely good, but not as good as I had remembered (maybe that was me). My husband had the pork and felt it was bland and needed more. Our daughter had the Croque Madame and absolutely loved it!!! Beware it is really loud!!! Definitely worth a visit!"

  • "We have never had a bad experience at Arro. The atmosphere is casual yet elegant enough in nature to make it a great date or special occasion place. Let the waitstaff help guild you in choosing a cheese, bread, charcuterie board as a starter - You won't be disappointed. The wine list is second only to the knowledgeable and friendly somms. I can't say enough positive things about Arro - It is our go to restaurant when people visit, we are celebrating a special occasion, or just want a really memorable date night."

  • "Arro is one of our favorite restaurants. The food and service are wonderful. It's a real "foodie" spot, but not fussy. We are repeat customers and will continue to be customers."

  • "Excellent hi end restaurant on the edge of downtown, 6th and nueces. Entrees include duck, quail, pork loin as well as the usual suspects. Good wine list. My only slight quibble is they charge for bread. Valet parking $8"

  • "I took my 83 year old mother for an early dinner. The food was great, the service excellent. The only problem was the noise level interfered with her hearing aids. She does not eat a lot and was thrilled with the $25 three course meal. It was just the right amount of food for her and let her try several dishes, including the profiteroles for dessert."

  • "We've been to Arro many times ... this was the best!! Food and service, excellent. Noise level moderate, not a problem in most of the insude seating. We included a special request with the Open Table reservation, and it was obvious they had the request and fulfilled it. Arro is definitely one of my Top 5 in Austin, I'll be back!!"

  • "My friend and I go around monthly to all the great, new places around Austin to try and ARRO was one of our best experiences. The food was wonderful, the server was observant and friendly, the pace of the meal was perfect. I was very pleased with everything and would reccomend to friends."

  • "We routinely dine out in downtown Austin, and I have fond memories of Arro, particularly when it first opened. Love the genuinely brasserie-type bar - it has perfect lighting and sleek ambiance. This time around, we had a great bottle of well-priced St. Emilion - my favourite region, but everything else was pretty...mundane. The steak frites - an easy win - was boring at best, pre-sliced and artlessly arranged. Mine was certainly over-cooked. The frites were limp and unremarkable. The butter that accompanied the bread was an artisan's treat, but all told, our tab was $200.00. We habitually overtip, but there are only two of us - making this trip to Arro decidedly unenthusiastic."
