Arno is always awesome to me!
Never had a bad experience, still one of my favorite spots in NYC."
Dined on 3/6/2014
Great dinner, great service. Our
waiter was top-notch."
Dined on 3/4/2014
Arno's is excellent with very good
food and sevice. I would go back and highly recommend it."
Dined on 2/22/2014
My wife and I had very good meals.
Service was great. I love pasta and the tortilinni was fantastic."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Tired restaurant, from a bygone
era. Zillions of better Italian places in NY."
Dined on 2/12/2014
Hidden on 38 th street behind
scaffolds is a wonderful old world Italian restaurant. Polite waiters, excellent service and a delicious lunch that was more like dinner. Only suggestion I would have is more of a lunch menu at lunchtime. Otherwise, great!!"
Dined on 2/12/2014
First time here and it was a very
nice experience. Will definitely be back."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Everything was delicious!! We
wanted to eat near the theatre district but closer to Penn Station. This restaurant worked out perfect. the waiters couldn't have been nicer and the food was very good. Looks like they have another room where you can have a private party also."
Dined on 2/1/2014
And I don't know why, but the food
and service are awesome.. Need to make a note!!"
Dined on 1/31/2014
The food we had was really
delicious and the service was excellent! One of our party has a gluten allergy, but the restaurant took care of that from the very start and could advise on dishes related to that. Their Italian wines are also great and perfectly in balance with the food. Another good thing is that the bill won't set you too much back. I would gladly recommend Arno for everyone who loves great food in a quiet setting."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Although we went with family for a
Saturday pre-theatre dinner, my husband usually goes to Arno for business meals. The service was impeccable, the food was wonderful, and we were treated like royalty. Our waiter, Desi, was particularly funny, efficient, and very friendly and entertaining. He's a great salesman, too...he makes suggestions from the menu and from the specials list. Highly recommend the pasta with 4 kinds of mushrooms, and the pasta Bolognese. Both were standouts. The desserts were really fresh and fabulous, especially the rice pudding cake and the chocolate almond pie. Classy place, delicious food, kind of a splurge - it's pricey, but it's worth it."
Dined on 1/11/2014
For those of us who love to dine
in the 1970s every now and then, Arno is a great place to travel back in time to enjoy excellent food and old world service and attention. Terrific place for a business lunch."
Dined on 1/7/2014
We met some friends on a Friday
night for an early dinner before our show. The service was outstanding from the start with super bar attentiveness and meal suggestions from the specials and regular menu. One dinner selection came out with a shellfish garnish unexpectedly for the one of us allergic; it was replaced with a fresh plate sans the shellfish in a matter of minutes. The dessert cart was a unique touch, but 3 of the 4 selections were mediocre. The staff was very accommodating."
Dined on 1/3/2014
We went here before seeing a show
and had a great meal! We had excellent service and our waiter was so much fun!"
Dined on 12/28/2013
Arno never fails to please. Food
and service is fantastic. Always consistent. Family and friends favorite."
Dined on 12/27/2013
Great food and service. Can get
loud and noisy. Not recommended for intimate dinner for two. Definitely going back!"
Dined on 12/19/2013
Arno is in my Italian rotation of
restarants and they always impress. The food is fresh and delicious. I typically "go off the menu" which they have no problem with. They do a great job with classic Italian dishes."
Dined on 12/16/2013
We had an early reservation before
a Broadway show and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. The food was excellent and everyone loved their dishes."
Dined on 12/14/2013
There are really many more
restaurants to choose from - food overpriced and staff and owner more interested in large parties than people who would return time after time to have a meal before theatre."
Dined on 12/10/2013
The food was delicious and the
waiters were so attentive. We had a great time."
Dined on 12/14/2013
The restaurant was busy during our
per holiday client lunch. Staff was attentive. We enjoyed delicious appetizers the seafood salad was fresh and calamari well done. It's a good idea to order an appetizer and a salad if you want to watch calories. I had a red snapper which was fresh and light. The food is good however after the appetizers and meal everyone was too full to order any of the incredible deserts. If you are with a group, I recommend you ask waiter for a plate of cookies, something sweet but light to enjoy with coffee after your meal. Would recommend this restaurant. Make sure you are hungry before you eat and save room for desert!"
Dined on 12/12/2013
Everyone at the restaurant was
welcoming! Our waiter(s) right there but not annoying. Red Snapper delicious, everyone was pleased with their meals. Thank you!"
Dined on 12/13/2013
We ate there this past thursday
night and the place was packed with 2 different parties. It took us over 2 1/2 hours to get from NJ to the city. We had 6pm reservations. I called around 5:30 to say we are still on the approach to the tunnel. The hostess said she would hold our reservation until 6:30 and she said they were busy and I could hear that they were. We were still in the tunnel at 6:25. Called again and she said they would still hold it. They didn't have to do that. We had a concert to go to at 8pm and we were in and out. Just want to let everyone know that even though it's a italian restaurant the staff is Croatian and so am I."
Dined on 12/12/2013
After a day of sightseeing, we
enjoyed a delicious Italian meal that was a good if not better than most we've had in NYC. The appetizers, entrees' and service were all excellent. We highly recommend Arno and will count it as one of our new favorite Italian restaurants in NYC."
Dined on 12/7/2013
Been here several times have never
been disappointed. Food and Service is always fabulous! Very good value."
Dined on 12/7/2013
Looked through OpenTable reviews
and could not have been a nicer meal! Wonderful for pre-show dinner, make sure to book early though! Not an open table in the restaurant on our walk out. Service was impeccable and food was outstanding. Truly a new family favorite!"
Dined on 12/4/2013
Came here on a business trip and
was recommended by locals- always a good sign! The gnocchi was to die for, along with the prosciutto and melon appetizer and broccoli rabe. Perfect "real-Italian" feel throughout the dining rooms, and you know it's good when everyone's talking to you in Italian. Dessert cart is beautiful and very yummy!"
Dined on 12/2/2013
Very loud and crowded. The waiter
was borderline rude and quite abrupt with his service. Felt like we were being given a rush shop and the food was average Italian at best."
Dined on 12/3/2013
My husband and I were able to
score a nice spot in the bar area of the restaurant where you were not sitting on top of the other diners, which can be the case in many places you go in NYC. The wait staff was excellent, friendly and attentive. The food was very good. The atmosphere relaxed but upscale. We normally go for red wine for dinner but we both were having entrees better served with a white and the Italian bottle we chose was excellent and reasonable considering NYC prices. We would definitely go again."
Dined on 11/30/2013
What a great place where you can
get anything you want how you want it fixed and fixed right. Very accommodating and enjoyable."
Dined on 11/14/2013
Arno's was a real find in a dining
wasteland near Penn Station. The decor was very classic with white table cloths and the service was very attentive and efficient. The food was quite good and the menu was old school Italian. One could also carry on a conversation which is not typical for many restaurants these days. I would recommend Arno's especially if you're looking for an alternative to the crowded pre or post theater scene."
Dined on 11/16/2013
I really enjoyed my dinner but
thought our particular waiter rather stiff. some of the others seemed friendlier. food was really good, but I would judge that it is precooked based on years of eating in restaurants. desserts were fantastic and martini was perfect tasting and chill."
Dined on 11/16/2013
We recently celebrated our
anniversary at Arno. our waiter Desi provided attentive and professional service. We enjoyed the delicious food and good wine. and Desi even sang happy anniversary to us ! Great place !!"
Dined on 11/13/2013
There is nothing presumptuous
about Arno from the outside (particularly right now when it is in a construction zone), but step through the doors and it's old school Italian: white tablecloths, classy waiters, smooth service. My friend and I (who last ate Italian food together in Tuscany) had a very enjoyable lunch. We shared two appetizers (a mozzarella salad and bresaola with arugula) - both delicious. The salad was simple, with roasted red peppers and a balsamic dressing that didn't overpower the cheese. We both had the rigatoni all'amatriciana. Tender pasta with an excellent sauce of tomatoes, onions, and pancetta. The service was attentive without being overbearing and we felt very comfortable lingering at the table. I'll go back."
Dined on 11/11/2013
Received great recommendation from
friend to have dinner before show. Made reservation 2 hrs before show so we could enjoy leisurely dinner. Waiter could have been a robot. Very noisey, very impersonable. Finally ordered to satisfy waiter. Food just ok nothing special. Better food presentation at a pizzeria. So happy our show was terrific, forgot disappointing dining experience!"
Dined on 11/9/2013
I enjoyed the excellent service at
Arnos. The drinks were just right. And the food was good. A little pricey but I enjoyed the ambience."
Dined on 11/8/2013
Three of us went with high
expectations but were disappointed. The service was very good and the people quite nice, but I think the food is far more important and that was only fair. The swordfish was overcooked, the vegetable soup was balanced but uneventful, the grouper was about the same. The veal was OK but again, nothing special. It's obviously popular but given the prices ($211 including tip for three of us and we only drank sparkling water) I can't recommend it."
Dined on 11/7/2013
It was our misfortune to get the
same waiter we had for our last visit. Although the food was good, the service was poor: unfriendly and rushed. I don't mind paying high prices if the meal is enjoyable."
Dined on 11/4/2013
another enjoyable meal aervice was
good food is great all & and all another delightful experience that is why we keep going back whenever we are in New York City"
Dined on 11/6/2013
I cannot get over how great the
service was at Arno. The food was very good, but the service was the best I've experienced in a long, long time."
