  • "If you've been to Arnie Morton's Steakhouse before you know what to expect. It's a reliable steak house. We were there on a Saturday night and were seated quickly and not pressured to leave as we lingered over coffee and dessert. When I made the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and they added a special touch. A Happy Birthday Mitchell menu for the 29th of March and a delicious dessert. Gourmet, drop dead food? No, but they do a good job."

  • "Took my wife to Mortons for her birthday. Overall it was good but for me the experince and food is not enough to make it a regular dining experience based on the price. Having said that, for the amount of money spent I was disappointed about a few things. The skin of the baked potato was tough. The horse radish was not spicy at all. They took a free picture for a keepsake but it was blury. I am not a food snob but for that price I expect more."

We were placed in a private board room so that we could talk and visit.   • "Starting on a positive note, there were several staff who were extremely friendly and helpful on this busy Valentine's night. Our server was very pleasant as was the gentleman who served our bottles of wine. However, all the niceties from the servers couldn't mask the downsides. First was the gridlock at the host station; it took a few minutes for any staff to even acknowledge me when we first arrived. We were seated close to a half hour after our reservation time. Once seated, waiter dialogue/presentation was great, but hampered by slow food delivery. Once the food did arrive, its quality was subpar; my macaroni/bacon was dry and lacking in flavor. The shrimp from my evening special was also dry and without flavor."

  • "Starters: Bread was a bit dry, and my wife thought it was too heavy on the onion. My wife's bib salad and my lobster bisque were exceptional. Entree: My wife complimented her filet mignon, though I rank my filet mignon & lobster both as average. I thought our filet mignon (I tasted hers) lacked flavor, while adequately, though not exceptionally tender (filet mignon's are known for being among the most tender cuts). Side Dish: My wife and I split a side of broccoli, which is designed for two. We both enjoyed the broccli, and rank it as above average (good) Dessert: lava/hot fudge cake was exceptional, though small in portion. Overall Ambience: inviting and romantic setting, though a little louder than desired."

Our server didn't make any recommendations on how to order. The Filets Mignons were very good, sides of Horseradish Mashed Potatos and Lyonaise Potatos were very good and a good portion that could have been shared. Very disappointed with the Escargot. No garlic and very little butter. I think this was an over-sight since the other dishes were prepared properly. The dipping puffs were very good. I'm upset with myself for not sending them back, but with service being slow I didn't want to risk it. I would give it another try."

This birthday dinner for my husband was another one of those memories (which was recorded with a card and a photo of us to mark the evening). The food was exceptional and the wine list extensive. I had forgotten my reading glasses; no problem, a tray of glasses was provided me in varying strengths to help me focus on the menu. I recommend Morton'st to everyone when looking for a romantic evening, to mark a celebratory occasion or just to have an excellent dinner."

Booth is dining room is perfect for quiet romantic couple and generally quiet throughout the not too large dining room. Bacon steak the most marvelous and exciting food item I have been offered anywhere, its pure genius. Excellent bread and perfect french onion soup for starters; Lovely salads and ICE COLD BEER. My dinner companion loves her meat well done and it was tasty, juicy and full of flavor. The giant baked potato with butter an excellent accompaniment to a most memorable evening. I have been there twice in the last few weeks, a real find."

  • "We keep giving Morton's second chances because their food is so good, much better than Ruth Chris - but we are inevitably disappointed in something. Used to be better. This year, the noise level was so bad we could not hear each other thru normal dinner conversation. The table behind us had 3 unruly children who ran around chasing balloons and screaming. Not one staff member asked the parents to reign in their children and the parents really didn't care. Ruined our dinner. We finally turned around and said something. Stay away from the bacon steaks. Too thick to cook thru. Wild mushrooms too limp. Be sure to ask for real butter with delicious onion loaf."

I would probably pick a different place next time because I thought the food was good, not great. I'd recommend it if you wanted someone to be impressed with the atmosphere and feel like they were getting a special dinner, but if you are really in to going to geta good steak (or other fine dining entree), pick another place."
