  • "My husband, stepson and I were in NOLA to get on a cruise to the Caribbean. It was our first time in NOLA, and we wanted to experience French Creole cooking in a fine dining atmosphere. After a lot of online research and input from numerous friends, we decided on Arnaud's. We are so very happy that we did. You can just feel the history in this place. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the wonderful food that we were served. Our server Bryan was wonderful, as were the two young ladies (Michelle and Margot (I think)) that assisted him in taking care of us. We found our the history of the restaurant and were given great recommendations on the food. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine New Orleans dining experience."

  • "Food was very good with lots of good choices - accommodated all in our party even with one picky eater. Service started off a bit snoddy, but did improve. Service was a bit slow and not nearly as informed as at Clancey's, Upperline, Eleven79, Annunciation, and others. Jazz band was a great touch but they were not as good as Commander's Palace [CP] - didn't know CP's wide variety of tunes to play. The Mardi Gras museum was a nice touch and informative. All this said, we did enjoy the brunch and would return. We have been here before on several occasions both years ago and recently."

  • "This was an elegant night for us. The service is incredible. From being seated like a lady, napkin laid for you, full staff dedicated to your table. Just an amazing team. The food was divine, elegant, correct portions with amazing flavor and technique. The ambiance was a little loud, but this is New Orleans. The decor was comfortable and elegant. Staff. Was friendly, professional, and spo-on with suggestions."

  • "What a unique find! There are several areas of the restaurant to cater to all diners. A quiet main dining area, a live jazz bistro, the casual cafe, and a cigar bar. We felt like the only 2 diners in the whole place with the great service. All recommendations from the staff were spot on from beginning to end. The duck breast was amazing and banana's foster made table side is the best I've ever had. A must try for anyone."

  • "Arnaud's is just the very best place for a very special occasion like Easter Brunch. We went over after church yesterday with the whole family (8 of us) and had a wonderful time. Owner Jane Casbarian, daughter Katy, Maitre'd Charles and the whole crew took great care of us. The Oysters Kathryn, followed by the Filet Charlemond, and finished with pecan pie ala mode hit my culinary sweet spot. Others enjoyed the Crabmeat Karen, the Pompano Duarte, or the Veal Wohl, and finished their meals with the Bananas Foster or the Strawberries Arnaud. And the Visit was made particularly enjoyable by table side stops by the jazz trio and the Easter Bunny!"

  • "We've lived in New Orleans for several years, but had not yet made it to Arnaud's. It certainly lived up to its reputation of being a throw-back classic. We enjoyed every minute of our evening. The restaurant had our Opentable reservation and quickly seated us. The waiters were fantastic. They were attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with Oysters Arnuad - baked oysters five ways, then a salad with a creole mustard dressing. For dinner, we both had fish - the sheepshead and the black drum. Dessert was bananas foster prepared tableside by the waiter. Can't say enough good things about our evening at Arnaud's. We will definitely be back when we're in the mood for tranditional New Orleans meal."

  • "Arnaud's must hire professional men as servers, a la European restaurants as 99% of the servers were men. Dirty dishes were immediately whisked away, water glasses alway kept filled, crumbs brushed, etc. Oh, food was excellent too! We really enjoyed the trio of jazz musicians who wandered around and serenaded most tables. (Tips are expected for this if course!)"

  • "One if the highlights of a trip to New Orleans. Tried the Alligator Sausage!! Wonderful. Service was over the top!! Tableside Bananas Foster preparation was a highlight for our daughter. Our waiter had wonderful personality, we would return any time!! We sat in the Jazz Bistro side of the restaurant, still formal enough for a dressy evening, the music was perfect. Loud enough to tap your foot to, not so loud you can't carry on a conversation!!! We would return anytime!!!"

  • "It was our 43rd wedding anniversary and from Australia so we decided to go for dinner with friends who are also from Australia. This is a wonderful restaurant one if the best fine dinning restaurants we have eaten in. The waiter service was attentive but not pushy they made good suggestions when asked to explain items as being from Australia we did not understand some of the terms. Overall a wonderful night. "

  • "This was my first time in New Orleans and Arnaud's was awesome. The food was great. The service was great. And, the 3 man band played When the Saints Go Marching In at our request, making that night a wonderful experience. The only minor complaint that our group had was that there was a $4 "music fee" for the band playing. We didn't mind the charge, but would have liked to have been made aware of it upfront. Thank you again for a great time!"

  • "First off, the food was excellant, and I would definitely return. I lowered the rating based on what the restaurant wants to be, not what it is. For a place with "collared shirts and jacket recommended for men" it certainly lacked some of the basics. No bread plates were available, although individual butter plates were provided. No sharp knife offered for the veal plates. Tiny wine glasses that were neither fit for Reds, nor suitable for Whites, although a decantor was made available for our wine selection. We were given the wine list and asked for our selection prior to seeing a menu for pairings. Wine list is fairly extensive, ranging from $3,000 bottles down to $40 bottles, I would expect more for the table setting."

  • "I was surprised. I've heard for years how this was one of the best restaurants in NO, but it is far from it. I was offered Sheepshead as a replacement fish for trout...sheepshead is a barnacle eating trash fish is compare w salt water catfish. Neither should replace good white fish like trout or snapper. Shame!"

  • "Great location. Had a group of 7 on a Friday night. Loved the rooms - very decadent with an amazing historic setting. Very friendly wait staff and were on point. Food was very average and pricey. Portions were small. They were even served on a small plate. It was a bit of a shock as our group had also eaten at other great locations that week. For this spot, I would either step up the food and raise prices even more or discount more to the level of the quality of food."

  • "The first time I visited Arnaud's was when I was in high school on a family vacation. I have returned at least a dozen times since. Each time the service has been impeccable and the food close to divine. Arnaud's staff has a welcoming attitude that maintains a sense of tradition and decorum without being stilted or arrogant. The turtle soup is probably the best to be found in New Orleans. The bread comes in an somewhat unique shape that lends itself to pulling apart while staying hot. The menu is varied enough to accommodate varying tastes, including vegetarians. Although we did not have dessert, we saw others indulging in various items which looked delicious. A visitor to New Orleans cannot go wrong by dining at Arnaud's."

  • "My daughter researched restaurants in New Orleans and bought us a gift certificate for Arnaud's. We made reservations for the night of our 35th wedding anniversary. The waitstaff was exceptional. We were lucky to have Ronald and Hannibal serving us. The drinks and food were delicious. We ended our meal with flaming bananas foster, prepared at table side. It was a perfect evening and a very special way to celebrate our anniversary."

  • "We had high expectations for Arnaud's. The friends we were with had been there before. The first waiter we had insisted we have the champagne cocktail (we did and liked it), but then proceeded to ignore us and scoffed when we asked to see the fixed menu. We saw it online--is it supposed to be a secret? Then another waiter came to take our order. She was better. The bread, wine, entrees and dessert were all very good, but we had a hard time getting over our initial treatment."

  • "This was my first visit. The food was good and service was prompt and helpful. Despite the seating being tables only with hard chairs, the noise level wasn't too bad. It was an enjoyable evening, that said, I am not sure I would go back because there are soooo many good choices in N.O.. It was good and if you have never been, you should go try it. The staff is certainly accommodating and want to make sure you make the right choice for your tastes."
