I had asked for a table with a view when I made my reservation through Open Table, and they accomodated me. Staff was very attentive. View to die for, we were there at sunset. The anti-pasta bar would have been fine for a whole meal! You simply must get the antipasto bar when you go. My favorite items are the cheeses but the fresh seafood and cured meats are also wonderful. Although I generally do not get chicken out at a restaurant since I cook it so much at home, I did this year. My husband ordered it on our first visit and it was superb. It makes you realize how good chicken can be when done well. It's the sauce really that makes the meal. My husband ordered the fish of the day which was snapper and was also very good. For dessert we shared their warm chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. The restaurant had been renovated along with the bar area and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Live paino music in the lounge on the weekends is just the icing on the cake. Our anniversary was on a Friday evening and we had made a reservation via the internet prior to arriving in Florida. We were seated promptly and escorted to a table overlooking the bay. Our server and her assistant were very much accommodating. This time we ordered from the regular menu. The food was good, the service was prompt and attentive, and the ambiance was amazing. If you're hungry, this is a large portion. Chocolate cake for desert was rich and just the right size. As always, service was excellent. The staff conveys a real desire to find a dish that matches our desires, even offering to customize dishes or create new ones. This usually is a sign that there is a good relationship between the front and back of the house. We also tried the Antipasto Misto, where you can go up and a chef prepares an Antipasto plate per our requests. The clams with sambucca vinaigrette; were one of the things I liked, that I probably wouldn't have tried had it not been an offering here. It is on the top floor of the Westshore Grand Hyatt. The views of Tampa Bay & downtown Tampa are incomparable. And the quality of the food & scope of the menu exceeds even that, if possible. We are always exceedingly satisfied with the food, ambiance & service. The Ciappono rivaled San Francisco & the veal dish my wife had with a variety of mushrooms & polenta, was exceptional.
