Diner Reviews
  • "I enjoyed the caesar, the petit filet (medium), the mac-and-cheese and the Arlington potatoes. Not a healthy meal, but absolutely delicious. I'm not sure why my expectations were modest for this restaurant, but really, the food was absolutely excellent. Probably the only negative was that we were seated in the front of the house, right behind the hostess station, which was not a great location."

  • "Attentive service, phenomenonal food and a real buzz in the air."

  • "The name and the glass store front outside gave no indication of the beautiful, retro, nostalgic decor we found at Arlington Club. The balcony level is an homage to the Gare D'Orsay and the original NY Penn Station. It's breathtaking, setting an upscale tone. This continues with vintage black and white celebrity photos that cover the walls downstairs. Lots of brick and fancy lights compliment everything. The staff was friendly, helpful, professional, even cheerfully accommodating a last minute change in the time of our reservation. Wait staff recommended special cocktails we tried and enjoyed. The restaurant week lunch portions were a bit small, but very good. (Kept us from giving the fifth star.) The steak was especially good."

  • "Great Restaurant Week lunch, I found it to be very close in menu options to Fishtail by David Burk, they apparently have the restaurant week menu everyday so that's really exciting. The peanut bar at Fishtail is much better but they did a great job too."

  • "Celebrated a friend's birthday -- the restaurant made every effort to make her special. Excellent choice. First time at restaurant. Will definitely return."

  • "My waiter asked me if I wanted to have a drink and ordered a ice tea. Then he asked me which I like either a flat or sparkling water, I said sparkling. The water was not San Pellegrino or Perrier, just sparkling water from the restaurant. The ice tea costs $3.5 and the sparkling water costs $8. He was very tricky. Food was amazing but not the waiter. I was not happy about it"

  • "We went here for restaurant week hoping to try something new and to enjoy the food. Unfortunately - every course was disappointing and small portioned on top of that. The ambiance and the service was great so maybe I'd go here again for a 'drinks' date. But definitely not for the food."

  • "Food is excellent and what we've come to expect from the BLT group. One of the best filets in town. The service began well, but became hurried and uneven toward the end due to the crush of diners coming in for Restaurant Week. Overall a very nice addition to the UES. We will be back."

  • "Don't be pit off by blandoid front - A.C. opens up inside to spectacular space - my initial Restaurant Week lunch there was very good, will return soon..."

  • "The food at the Arlington Club was very good. My steak was a tad overcooked but it was so small (~6 oz) that it was understandable. The service was great until the end when we asked him to put a certain amount on one card and the rest of the bill on the second card - he wrote down what we said and then proceeded to just split the bill evenly. Not a big deal, but strange considering that he wrote it down first. The place is very nice inside, seems like they do a good bar business. There was one table with a baby and some of the older patrons seemed to really dislike that, a little pretentious atmosphere but a good dinner overall."

  • "I dined at the Arlington Club when it first opened, and it was wonderful. I bragged about it to my husband and friends and went last Tuesday night. It was one of the worst meals and terrible service. The portions for the Restaurant Week menu were sparse; my husband and friend ordered from the regular menu, and the portions were sparse as well. We were charged $7 for NYC tap water, and the service was terrible. We will not only never return but will not recommend it."

  • "This is a very nice restaurant, the salmon is a great choice. The steaks was very juicy and soft, and the house sauce was on point !"

  • "5 of us went for restaurant week and had a great time. The waiter was very good and the food was delicious. Even with the prix fixe menu the bill was sky high due to the pricey drinks, but we didn't expect it to be cheap. Don't know if I would go again simply because of the prices but glad we went. The building itself was also beautiful."

  • "Luv this place! I will be going back for dinner in the beat future! Thanks for being a part of restaurant week!"

  • "My bf and I popped in to check out this neighborhood steak house and were dazzled. The atmosphere and rustic chic decor took me back to my days frequenting Missouri steak houses (my father owned a restaurant equipment company and we were weened on steak). While the scene was fun the food was spectacular! Don't miss the tuna tartar and the filet"

  • "The restaurant is truly beautiful. The ambiance is quiet and restful. The service was excellent. The waitress very accommodating. The rolls were so good (popovers) that we asked for more. The gazpacho was served in an interesting way, using the cucumber as a bowl. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Dined at Arlington Club several times and with different guests and various ages. Never disappointed. Food is always on point as well as service. The pop overs are always a treat. Hot out of the oven! My go to restaurant on the UES."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "I thought the space was lovely and the service fantastic but the menu and meal was fine. You will get a good meal here, but nothing wowed us or seemed special. Although the pop overs were very good!"

  • "Empty! Lovely staff but slow service. Food was good but I wouldn't return"

  • "well to start with we were greeted so pleasantly by our waitress Christine. she was attentive and very helpful. everything was cooked perfectly to order. we spilt the steak and dover sole. the best is the ahi tuna with jalapeño. also had the tomato salad with onion great all around by the way the popovers are o die for."

  • "Great food and ambiance, but much too loud. They need to do something about the noise."

  • "Even though the restaurant was more than half empty we were sent to a four top in a tight back corner. We asked for another table and were accommodated. Drink orders were taken. The waiter addressed the women as "dear". "What are you having dear?" "Yes dear." Uncomfortable and inappropriate. One women remarked on it in a way to discourage it but to no avail. Service was non-existent. Offered popovers were burnt and greasy. Took abnormally long to receive cold appetizers. An hour to receive main courses. Every time we asked waiter he said any minute. He repeated that for half an hour. Portions small. Average food. Music sounded like a cat was being skinned alive during a car crash. Awful. Sound level made talking impossible."

  • "A friend and I had a later (9pm) dinner at Arlington Club. Very nice steakhouse on multiple levels with a definite "clubby" feel. Although the main courses looked great, we order several starters and sides to share. The Roasted Cauliflower was the best I've had, with a great light sauce. Lobster salad, grilled octopus and Yellowtail with jalapeno were also tasty. Good service, but seemed to want to clear the table quickly at the end of the evening."

  • "It was the first time we dined at Arlington. We all ordered salads as appetizers and since the waiter advised us that the salads were generously sized, each couple decided to share their salads. When the salads arrived, they were not split and arrived without companion plates. We asked the waiter to have the kitchen split them. He quickly returned with the salads and spare plates telling us that the kitchen refused to split the salads. Really?! Heroically, the waiter attempted to split them but was having quite the time doing so. Eventually, we took care of it. The steaks were quite good as were the potatoes and brussel sprouts. The restaurant was busy and so noisy that we could hardly hear one another. Very expensive!"

  • "Food and drinks are excellent, and service superb. But I think it's the space that really distinguishes this from other area steakhouses. Incredibly cool brick vaulted ceilings. Beautiful bar. Has a classy, retro feel with great energy. Recommended."

  • "This was our second time eating here and the food was great from the hot popovers till the lavender ice cream. Something for everyone, great steak , fish, sushi, BBQ chicken etc."

  • "The food was delicious and place is beautiful. I had arrived early and Eric at the bar was so great and knowledgable that I might become a regular just at the bar."

  • "As always, Arlington Club was wonderful. Greeted warmly, seated on time and served well. Short rib lasagna........SINFUL!!!! Salmon done to perfection. I usually eat at the bar but sitting at a table for a fuller meal was a treat."

  • "Great service, decent atmosphere, but the food was very disappointing, to say the least. They charge $65 for a bone-in ribeye that was smaller than you get elsewhere, and it amazed us how little flavor there was to their ribeye. If you're going to charge that much for the meat, at least produce a steak that tastes great - not good, but great!"

  • "this is the 2nd time i've been to arlington club for my husband's birthday - the food and service has been outstanding on both visits!! we will be back soon (especially for sunday bbq night)!"
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "A lousy waiter and service ruined what might have been a decent evening. In summary, this place offers average quality level food with lousy service at top level prices. No wonder that it was 1/2 empty on a Saturday night."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "For such an expensive restaurant the service is sub-par. Though the servers aim to please they are, for the most part, inept."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Excellent restaurant!! Food is outstanding, from the sushi to steak to deserts, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!! Staff is so wonderful, one of my favorite spots!!!"

  • "This was my second time eating at The Arlington Club. The first time I went it was with friends for dinner. The food was phenomenal...everything is perfectly prepared. The restaurant was a little loud, though. At lunch recently when the restaurant was less crowded received the same excellent food in a quieter environment."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "Wicked noisy from the front bar but throughout the restaurant. Okay for those who don't mind lots of noise around them. Food okay but steak under-cooked for medium and tough."

  • "Good food, good service...I like the fact that there was a Robert Foley wine on the wine list"

  • "Why does a place like this have a large screen TV!!!! I took my wife to have a romantic dinner and people at the bar were yelling at the TV including the Bar Tender. If I wanted to go to a sports bar I would. We also had the pleasure of being told what we ordered. When we said to the waiter that he made a mistake in our order he confidently said that he made no such mistake. I love being told what I ordered.... Same.... the place has potential "

  • "Arlington Club has become one of my go to spots for brunch. Excellent menu with nice calm ambiance and the pricing is good for what you get. I do not recommend the place for dinner though. Jammed with major UES pickup crowd with very high prices at dinner. There are far better places for steak in NYC."
