Diner Reviews
  • "We decided to return to Arlington Club after not being there in some time. While the ambiance is always energetic and the restaurant is beautiful, the food wasn't as great as I remembered it. The short rib lasagna and my husbands steak weren't as flavorful as they could be. However, the tuna tartar was fabulous!!! I just think they need to step up their game ... It's sister restaurants Lavo and Tao are always so delicious and never disappointed!"

  • "We had a 7:45 reservation and waited 90 minutes to be seated."

  • "$16 suprise charge for house seltzer takes away what otherwise was a nice experience."

  • "Have been here before but this last time was a disaster. Service was poor. Waiter had an attitude when he even bothered to come around. Appetizers were good. Porterhouse steak at $125 was a disaster. Supposed to be for 2 but much smaller than that. Quality of meat was terrible as was the seasoning that threw on top of it. I can honestly say it might have been the worst steak I have had in years."

  • "Very very disappointed in beet salad. Salmon fair and overlooked. Brussels sprouts were great."

  • "Great old fashioned steak house. Delicious food and swift aervucw"

  • "Loved the design and ambient (though a bit noisy so don't plan a romantic conversation) We has very nice wine, shared rock shrimps roll and spicy Tuna which was divine! For main we had the Filet Mignon Bone, which was recommended by the waitress and was excellent! The only down side was the entrance - even though we has reservations we waited for 26 min and there was a bit of a mess at the door. I will definitely come back for another steak!"

  • "Enjoyed the food, great space and built out very very well. Our only two complaints, tables were very close to each other and prices of the steaks far exceeded all other steak restaurants that we have frequented"

  • "If this was the first time I had ever eaten in this restaurant I would never return. The service was not good we ordered two filet mignons and about 1/3 of each were fatty and tough. So tough that we had to cut the end off. This should never happen with this cut of steak. When we asked the waiter, wh was hard to find at best, he said that the next cuts would be no different. Not what you want to hear at over 52 dollars each. We had to keep asking for water, he never came back for more drinks. Celebrating a birthday we went somewhere else for dessert because 45 minutes from the time were were served dinner till the plates were cleared never saw our waiter. I will be going back to t bar from now on for a neighbor steak fix."

  • "Been to the Arlington Club several times. We keep introducing it to different friends and thy enjoy it as much as we do. It is a bit pricey but everything you order is so good that you don't mind. Everyone on their staff are so nice no matter what their job is. The decor makes you feel like you are in 1920's Paris. Very warm and inviting. i highly recommend the Arlington Club for a great meal and a very enjoyable time."

  • "they charge a different price for the same wine at the bar versus at the table. Very strange and no explanation. Starts the whole experience off on the wrong foot."

  • "The restaurant was a lovely place. I believe the service caused our poor review. Very slow service. Very inattentive. Food was late coming out which effected the taste."

  • "On arriving you're struck by a large expansive room with banquettes, double height ceiling and in the distance a 19th century train station skylight. This set the mood for a first rate evening. This steak house is definitely more interesting than any of the other fine establishments in New York. The food - from the appetizers (great salad, first rate crab cakes), vegetables and steak - was just delicious. The treatment of vegetables, brussels sprouts, zucchini flowers and house potatoes were heavenly. The steak, filet mignon, had a charred crust, tender inside and perfectly prepared. Our attentive waiter was available, knowledgeable and courteous. I'm looking forward to a return visit. Terrific evening!"

  • "I read some tough reviews on this spot so I went in with my guard up. They made me feel at ease. Nothing to worry about here except what great food to order. the wine list was nice and robust. the apps were amazing and the porterhouse very good. I will go back."

  • "Good service and food but $125 for "porterhouse for two" was "gouge worthy"!"

  • "Overall we have been here several times. The service can be spotty. Sunday was a bit rough but friendly. Food was good, especially the popovers and sides, like truffle gnocchi. Training good use more skill. Noise level Is a bit rough. We usually enjoy the steak, especially the bone- in filet, not the rib eye- typically my favorite. It seems to have slid a bit since opening, then again it was early evening Sunday. We'll be back, usually with guest."

  • "Dinner was good. The Caesar salad was huge and delicious, as were the tomatoes with Stilton. The beet salad was so-so. We did not order steaks but they looked good, as did the mashed potatoes. The hamburger was tasty but $25. It is not a place for sushi. Our sushi was small, tasteless and very expensive. It's a happening place and has a nice vibe so I would return and order differently."

  • "If you live and play on the UES and want to add a good steakhouse to your list of regular haunts, then Arlington Club is for you. The menu, service and decor are all very clubby. Its a stretch to consider Arlington Club among NYC's elite steakhouses and inevitable comparisons to BLT will be hard to put to rest, but for those for whom it serves as a neighborhood "clubhouse" Arlington fits the bill."

  • "Beautiful space and great steaks but the area with the high ceiling is just too noisy. It might be better upstairs."

  • "Great food and atmosphere. Terrific service. But very expensive. Easily $200 a head."

  • "Lackadaisical service and passable food at premium prices. Wouldn't last a month Downtown. Overbooked on a Tuesday night in this neighborhood."

  • "I had a great experience at the Arlington Club. The food was superb. The ambience was great....sit upstairs if you want a scene which is upbeat but you can have a conversation with your guests. The scene downstairs can get a bit noisy. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We brought four friends for dinner at 5PM last Saturday, we arrived about 10 minutes early and they promptly opened the door for us ahead of their posted 5PM opening time. We enjoyed excellent wines from the massive and comprehensive wine list, choose individual and a table appetizer and loved their unique version of Yorkshire Pudding. Main courses and sides were exceptional and we finished with desserts for the 2 who still had any tummy room left. The restaurant is a bit pricey even by UES standards but the old saw, "you get what you pay for" applies, we received value for money. One of our guests lost a very expensive diamond stud and returned to the restaurant a 1/2 hour later, the staff diligently searched the floor and found it, wow!"

  • "Steakt was ok - but there is better available in NYC. The special wasn't available at 7 pm on a Saturday , and the tables are packed together. Steak slightly over cooked. Popovers are great. Wine list mediocre."

  • "It's actually holding the reservation that matters. Yes, it's a Seinfeld Line, but very appropriate for this place. A table for two at 830 and we didn't sit until 915. And this is their MO. They never sets you under 30 min from your reservation Steak was very good, and delicious. However they now have a loud horrible band playing which makes the restaurant too loud. Other steak houses are better"

  • "I had brunch here and I much prefer it to dinner. At dinner the place is way too crowded with over the top prices but at brunch it's very leisurely with a very good brunch. The Monkey bread is to die for. I'll be returning for brunch."

  • "This past Sunday I stopped in for brunch. There was a light jazz band including sax this was a nice Touch. We were not rushed at all as a matter of fact we sat for nearly 3 hours Enjoying mimosas and bloody Mary's. the lobster and shrimp cocktail where cooked perfectly and severed with delicious cocktail Sauce and Dijon sauce. We had a refreshing fruit salad and also a Ceaser with an amazing skin on roasted chicken breast. The French fries served with a herb sauce where excellent. I was her for dinner in the past And the poppovers served as the bread are incredible as well as the steak and wine selection. My only complaint is that there where no popovers available at brunch and the steak options were limited."

  • "This was our second time to the Arlington Club. The bar is lively and the service was good. However, the drink (Scotch, neat) was skimpy, particularly for the price. I was disappointed with the value I received. Table service was good. The salad appetizer was very good with fresh ingredients. Fish entrees were well prepared but the overall experience was lacking this time."

  • "There are a lot of great steakhouses. This isn't one of them. The fig salad was very weak and very small. The delmonico was a bit tough, which it should not be for the price. The highlight of the meal were the Brussels sprouts. With the truffle gnocchi a close second."

  • "My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. The setting, the food, and the service were excellent and the atmosphere was really perfect. There was only one thing that upset us. The restaurant is listed as "BYO Welcome" (which you don't see at a lot of high end Manhattan places) but we found out at the end of our dinner that the corkage fee is $50. Of course, we understand that there has to be a corkage fee and we would even have been fine with $35...which has sort of become the norm at high end restaurants that allow you to bring your own wine. We have a big wine cellar and I enjoy bringing good bottles of wine to dinner. $50 did not make us feel "welcome", unfortunately."

  • "Petite filet mignon on the bone was very flavorful. The brussel sprouts were the best i ever had. They were carmelized and tasted like candy. Had the mac n cheese - good if you like gudo cheese."
