Diner Reviews
  • "Easy parking in their lot, charming dining room, attentive friendly staff, excellent food, meal worth the price. Plus if you stay at the Inn left overs go into your frig for a later snack."

  • "Top notch service & the live piano was lovely. Had to wait for outdoor seating (outdoor tables oddly cannot be reserved) but preferred because the dining room smelled musty. Once outside, though, hotel guests were coming & going along the outdoor walkways in front of our table. Many diners were hotel guests (one actually sitting in her gym clothes, working on her laptop, eating amidst us) which added to this place feeling more like a hotel restaurant than a fine dining establishment. Additionally, the crowd is not vibrant and tends to be on the retirement age side, and while the food was good, it came out really quickly (making me wonder about the freshness). For the price I'd rather go somewhere where the entire experience speaks to me."

  • "Excellent food and service. WE both had sea bass that was outstanding. This is in the old hotel. the grounds and building are gorgeous. If you go, allow time to walk around both inside and outside."

  • "The service was impeccable, but alas, the food was so-so. The escargot was really bad...the sauce was too heavy, the pound cake that was serve with it was tasty in itself but with escargot? Would have preferred a very light garlic olive oil sauce on them. It was my birthday dinner, hugely disappointed. Won't be back real soon."

  • "Always excellent food and service in a very pleasant and quiet environment. Very good for small and large groups. Outside porch/patio has nice view of well kept garden/grounds."

  • "Historic Tucson--lovely grounds, nicely restored interior. Quiet and elegant. Food was well prepared and tasty but not creative. A reasonable wine selection but no interesting beer--nothing on tap and no micro-brews. Service was attentive although servers seemed to lack experience--not as polished as one would expect in this type of restaurant. Still a very pleasant experience."

  • "Great atmosphere for an anniversary dinner but expensive"

  • "We had a wonderful meal and a great time. It was perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Everything about the experience was a great pleasure for us."

  • "If you are looking for great tastes, this is the place to go in Tucson -- great food, superbly prepared, impeccably served, in a historic Arizona hotel that has style, local color, personality, elegance. You will have a very special night out!"

  • "The Dining Room at the Arizona Inn is always a special experience. Beautiful room, impeccable service, wonderful food. Especially nice for a leisurely lunch. You will love it."

  • "The food was very good as usual, service was only fair. I had to ask wait staff twice for bread and butter, empty plates sat on table as several of the staff walked by and only seemed to be interested in their own tables. I'm not a regular customer, two to three times a year, but I remember better times in the past."

  • "Entering the hotel and then the dining area was truly elegant. Great ambiance. All of our Sunday brunch selections were absolutely wonderful. Salmon benedict was off the chart good. Our server was way below par however, but, based on observation she was an exception. If you have not been there, ask for a complete explanation of the menu and options. Be sure to stroll the garden area after brunch."

  • "Friends and family visiting form San Francisco enjoyed this always-reliable spot for a delightful dinner, with excellent service and well-priced wines. Often a special deal from FourSquare will reduce the bill: 10% off made it even more enjoyable. Make a reservation - the room was full."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Food and ambience are excellent. Service in the bar and even in the dining room was very slow. The bar has a lovely piano man playing old favorites and requests, but the wait for drinks took more than a half an hour which nearly spoiled our visit. We would still return because it can be really lovely."

  • "Arizona Inn always comes thru with a wonderful relaxed brunch. Perfect way to end the weekend."

  • "This was the second time we met for Sunday brunch. The temperature of the room was much better than last time we dined. While our server did not have quite the finesse of our first server, he was certainly attentive. Bread and coffee were served promptly. All of us were happy to be there and enjoyed our meal."

  • "I wanted something special for my husband's 35th birthday and a friend recommended the Arizona Inn. The inn was quite beautiful and the dining room was elegant. We had a very nice server who was attentive and helpful. We had wanted to order something that was not on the regular menu but on the bar menu and the server was very accommodating. Our salads and entrees were very good and the portions were quite big for such rich foods. We could not even finish the entrees! My husband was given a free dessert for his birthday. He got the blueberry cheesecake, which he enjoyed a lot. The plate had happy birthday written in chocolate, so cool! Overall, the Arizona Inn did not disappoint. We will return for more special occasions! :)"

  • "Service was prompt, professional and courteous. We both had the chicken salad plate with fresh fruit and greens. Preceded by French Onion Soup and complimented with great coffee and the truly excellent Black & White cake, we had a peaceful and charming lunch. Thank you."

  • "A friend and I discovered that we shared a birthday so we looked for a special place to celebrate, and we had just the wonderful experience we hoped to have at the Arizona Inn."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to breakfast here the other day and absolutely loved it. Our food was incredible and the service was GREAT! Our food came very quickly, and our glasses never got anywhere near empty. We would love to come for dinner when we have a little more money saved up!"

  • "We had a group of six people and the service was outstanding as well as delicious."

  • "I wanted something elegant for our son's 34th birthday diner, and I suggested my favorite place in Tucson, the Arizona Inn. We are particularly fond of the "Tasting" menu. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed this choice. Talk about a "cornucopia of flavors!" The wait staff in the dining room is "young". Thanks to the AZ Inn for giving so many young people the opportunity to help, in carrying on an outstanding example of classic dining. I Look forward to our next visit."

  • "The Arizona Inn never disappoints. It is a touch of elegance without arrogance. Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful wine. The service personnel will go out of their way to make diners comfortable. It's one of the reasons we always look forward to returning to Tucson."

  • "EXCELLENT! The reception through exit/departure was first rate. Not the occasional spot for dinning. The entire 'staff' was very professional. More then just a restaurant..... an entire 'hotel' with amenities. 'We' will be back for the 'full' experience."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Fantastic restaurant and wonderful ambience. My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary experience there and would definately go again. Avoid the French Onion soup though, not as good as it sounded."

  • "I have business meetings here often. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food and ambience is always good."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "We ate there two weeks ago for brunch and it was truly excellent. Today, for lunch, the outdoor patio was perfectly beautiful - very sweet wait staff, but my Cobb Salad featured too dry chicken and ... generally disappointing. Another guest had a dry burger that seemed overcooked. So, maybe a chef's day off. Surprising, but it will not deter another try another day."

  • "I always enjoy dining at the Arizona Inn. The food is always delicious and the presentation is always exquisite. Another delightful Valentine's Day meal. Thank You."

  • "We try to eat at the Arizona Inn every year when we visit family in Tucson. It is one of my favorite restaurants due to the food, service, and atmosphere."

  • "I took my wife to the Arizona Inn for her 65th birthday, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was first class, the service was very good, and they made a special birthday dessert for my wife, which she told everyone about. Very memorable, and I will recommend it to friends."

  • "The roast pork was a little tough. Sauce was OK, but pork itself was tasteless. Mashed potatoes was mixed with something to make iit a gray clump on plate. Unappetizing to look at. Plating of asparagus radiating like 3 spokes of a wheel made presentation unbalanced. Couldn't discern the flavor of the RED salad dressing on the lettuce wedge salad:, which should have been crisper. However, my drink was excellent."
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "The service at the Arizona Inn is impeccable. The amuse bouche was lovely. I had the salmon with Brussels sprouts. My husband had the beef tenderloin. The salmon itself was cooked very nicely, served hot, with a nice texture on the outside. The sprouts were tough due to undercooking, while the pasta was overcooked and the tomato was bland and watery. The beef tenderloin was also served very rare, not the requested medium rare, but it was tender and flavorful. Dessert: The creme brulée was good, as was the rosemary ice cream. The red velvet donut tasted a little like an old fridge. We probably won't be back for some time. There are better meals for less available elsewhere, although the service is always a high point at the Arizona Inn."

  • "Great service. Best shrimp omelette I have ever had. This sounds silly but even the water tasted very refreshing. We met friends there we have not seen in a very long time and we did not feel rushed to leave."

  • "When I wanted to treat dear friends to a special dinner I chose Arizona Inn because it was elegant, had a sufficient choice of entrees, was conducive to conversation, and cared that we were there. They get A+ marks in my book. The dinner party (second within a week) was a grand success."

  • "An overall wonderful dining experience - it could not have been more perfect."

  • "Nice ambiance and historic, but overpriced. Food is no different than you can get for breakfast at the better local Mexican eateries. There was a musty smell coming from the wall near our table. There was bread listed on the menu as part of the brunch, but it did not arrive until we were almost finished with our meal. It was still being baked when we arrived. Why it was not ready when the restaurant opened, I do not know. After all the wait, it was not very good bread. The staff was attentive and the service was generally good."

  • "What a pleasant and perfect meal we had. We sat outside in the lovely patio, had excellent food and were treated to the best, most knowledgable server I have ever encountered. She knew everything about the menu, the Inn, and even told us the ingredients of a bottle of gin and what bitters were made of. Astounding and pleasant."

  • "Great lunch, Cobb Salad with avocado was tasty. Staff was friendly and attentive but not pushy. Patio is just right for dining in the Arizona sun in January."

  • "The food was amazing! Every bite we ate was perfect! The food was deliciously interesting and satisfying. I couldn't imagine eating another bite once we had finished our amazing dinner. I really haven't had food this special in a long time. The drink menu was impressive, we each tried a different kind of margarita and my husband also had a glass of wine. The wine list was impressive on its own. My only concern, I guess it must have been "busy". Our waiter's initial visit to our table took several minutes, and no one brought us water in the meantime. So we sat for at least 10-15 minutes before getting anything. After that initial wait everything else was amazing. We will definitely go back for a special occasion"
