Arizona Inn has been in Tucson for years and has not changed in its elegance. This historic Inn represents is a well kept secret here in Tucson. The food was scrumptious. The service was over the top. We ordered flowers for our table ahead of tie and they were beautiful. I have never been at a restaurant tat offers this feature. This is the place to go for an unforgettable experience.

The Arizona Inn is Tucson institution. It's like a trip to the 1930's (to a place that's understated and sumptuous at the same time). My first visit was decades ago when I was a teenager - and whether it's a year or a number of years between visits the place truly looks exactly the same - a testament to the maintenance regimen. The fish/beef dishes at our table were modern takes on classic recipes - and were well executed. The only negative was my salad - tart to a fault, as if the dressing wasn't stirred and I got garlic and lemon juice and no oil. I ate just a few bites, and we weren't charged. It won't keep me from going back ... Food's only part of the reason to go.

We love the Inn and have 'grown up with it'. (I swam there when I was 5, as a neighbor who could use the pool in the summer.). It's almost always our choice for a special occasion - but recently the quality of the food has diminished. My husband was especially disappointed with his dish - especially at $34. Mine was fine, and our guests were complimentary - but he'd just had expensive scotch!

Very disappointed that they allowed another diner to bring in dogs and seated right next to our table. When I mentioned this to the staff, the first response was the diner was special(?). The waiter then tried to claim they were service animals. I have never seen an individual with two service animals

Our first time at AZ Inn...a true gem architecturally. Ambiance is pleasant with a distinct charm and mannerly atmosphere. Melody, our server was so friendly making our experience delightful. Gabriela assisted her perfectly in step with our needs. The food was fabulous! Calamari with Chorizo started us off. Mozzarella & Tomato needed a bit of salt. The Scallops with fennel and risotto were delicate. Tender Duck with forbidden rice was nicely rare. The sauce made the difference on the Pork Tenderloin. The Chef's Pastry Selection gives a variety of treats to taste. Our favorite was the Blueberry Cheesecake. Wine list is varied and known to our server. As a parting gift from Melody, we will enjoy reading the Arizona Inn-A History. Delightful!

We were a party of four and were promptly seated. The dining room is quite attractive and comfortable. The order taker was pleasant and attentive, but had no problem letting us enjoy our drinks without trying to rush us. Once we did order our meals, the chef surprised us with a little treat-mapled carrots on a puff pastry. We all agreed that the flavors and presentation of our entrees were exquisite. A final nice touch was the finger bowls at the end of the meal. We will return whenever we are in Tucson.

Ambience great, service tremendous, atmosphere best in town. I just didn't like my meal. The Divers Scallops were very tasty; but the carrot rissoto was awful. It was somewhat doughy, like uncooked rice with carrots, hardly chewable, not tasty at all. Not sure I have ever had a combination that was this bad. Have been to 'Inn' for dinner a number of times, but this was not their best. Liven the selections up a bit and make the pairings better or just serve the meat and charge for extras. Otherwise, it is my wife's favorite place for dinner.

Sunday brunch at the Arizona Inn is a great Tucson tradition and the food is wonderful. We were sorry to see tha the basket of bread/rolls is no longer part of the brunch and the kitchen made an error finishing and delivering one meal pror to the other five in the group which resulted in some cold eggs. So, not perfect but still a nice Tucson Sunday Brunch.

I love the Arizona Inn. On my recent visit the service was excellent. Unfortunately the food was horrid. I ordered the coq au vin and it was practically unedible. The chicken was cut into chicken mcnugget size pieces and had no flavor. The sauce was pasty; the vegetables inappropriate with the dish. My salad was also a disappointment. The dressing was a hideous shade of pink and entirely too sweet. I did enjoy the vegetable spring rolls.

  • An Off-night? Or the usual?
    AJMarinVIP

Every restaurant and chef can have an off-night. Perhaps it was our bad luck on Saturday evening Sept. 13 2014. But perhaps it was not just on one night. In my view, the Chef's "interpretation" of Coq au Vin would cause the French to leave NATO. Small "diced" pieces of chicken in a thin wine sauce that looked more like "Kung Pao Chicken" from a Chinese restaurant is NOT Coq au Vin. For the first time in over 20 years, I returned a meal. And the Caesar salad was mediocre at best. Not a good dining experience. [As an aside, my girlfriend accompanying me that evening is a chef and she was appalled by the "dish". Need I say more?]

Brunch was a pre fix menu. Nice touch with complimentary champagne to start. 6 to 7 "first selections" on the Brunch Menu. Many, many other "second" selections to complete your meal. A separate desert menu was presented later with complimentary coffee or tea. $30 per person seemed fair. Excellent service. At 11:30 am the main dining room was 1/4 full. I expect more action occurs "in season".

Manager sort of said I'm sorry, and never returned to our table again, so I say we'll never return again, after 10 years of great dining, tonight was the last.... was to be a special meal, which one of us never even ate dinner.... no one seemed to even care. We enjoyed a quiet, romantic dinner at the Arizona Inn to celebrate our 18th anniversary. Everyone was so attentive, from seating us to helping us decide on our selections. For starters, we enjoyed a marvelous five cheese/fruit/cracker appetizer and French onion soup. The onions were still slightly crisp, but well carmelized. The gruyère cheese was tasty, but not overpowering. The broth was not salty, but full flavored. Our entrée was the pork tenderloin with apple fennel relish, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, carrot puree and tender asparagus. We savored every flavor! Our wine steward helped us select a fine Argentinian Malbec. A complimentary desert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate capped our dining experience. Perfecto!
