  • "The food was awesome. Order the Gnocchi app; you'll never have it prepared better than the chef at Aria does it. Service was great, food was really good and there was limited wait time to get our food, drinks, etc. Only downside is the seating. I'm not a fan of the whole "cram as many tables against the walls" layout many restaurants use these days. When i'm on a date with my wife, I don't really want strangers 1 foot away from me on both sides."

  • "The food was good me and my date had the bake chicken crusted parmigiana."

  • "Everything about Aria Tuscan Grill was great from the moment we walked in. We were warmly greeted and attention was paid to us throughout the dinner. The food was very tasted and well presented. The menu had items that ranged from $ to $$ so that there was something for everyone. Enjoyed the night with a good restaurant and good friends."

  • "We love Aria -- the choice of atmospheres (upstairs, quieter; downstairs, rocking) and the food is usually consistently good. I was a little ticked that the new wine list has NOTHING in chardonnays between $40 and $77 and the waiter kept insisting we get the $77 bottle since it's so much better. The Grandma's Lasagne was spot-on, as always, but the duck was so-so (soft, not crispy skin at all, mostly fat) and the braised lamb was stringy and flavorless. Scallops were beautiful. So all in all, a mid-level experience. Not what I expect from taking friends to Aria, but not bad."

  • "Short story: Service and ambiance were good, the food was not very good. Detailed version: The restaurant itself offers a nice ambiance and was abuzz with the after-work crowd. Our server was very friendly and the manager even came over at one point offering to replace a side that my husband was not eating (we didn't complain, but the server asked how it was and my husband said he wasn't going to eat it). The food however, was disappointing. It wasn't much different than something I could whip up at home (i.e. not fresh pasta, not good quality cuts of meat, the beet and goat cheese salad had very little beet or goat cheese...). That said, my pasta dish was only $12, so perhaps I should have adjusted my expectations accordingly."

  • "We wanted to experiment with the menu and the signature dishes. We told our server too, but with the kind of recommendations provided we ended up picking stuff for ourselves. Ordered Rusty Nails for drinks. The server didn't ask and frankly it just skipped me as well that we had not specified the whiskey to be used. It arrived with Dewar - which i did not want. They were gracious to change my drink (out of the three) but they also ran out of Drambuie! So no more drinks! That was lame!!! What kind of bar is not stocked? Food was ok - we ordered rabbit and trout in main course. Again, nothing spectacular - but could not complain."

  • "My friends and I went to Aria during a Girl's Weekend and the food was absolutely amazing. After the first bite, all conversations stopped and there was nothing but content silence before everyone started tasting everyone else's food. Great service, good drink menu and fabulous food all around. Live music was downstairs but where we were sitting we got to listen to the music from a wedding in Founders Hall, which was a lot of fun. Overall great experience"

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Aria on Saturday. We shared the Caramelized Gnocchi with Gorgonzola and Pear, which was delicious. Our entrees were the Chicken Parmesan, and the Mushroom Risotto with Veal Cheeks. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Our desserts were light, a great ending to the meal. Our service was prompt and pleasant. We couldn't really have asked for more. We'd love to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu."

  • "This was an excellent outing for me and my family. We enjoyed everything from beginning to end. The service was excellent and every member of my family left satified. I enjoyed the calamari appetizer and the salmon entree. My husband and brother raved over the NY strip, and thought the steak was very tender and perfectly seasoned. My daughter's said they were "in pizza heaven", as they shared a Magherita pizza. I think the food of reasonably priced and ambience was family friendly, yet seemed it would be a good place for a romantic rendevous or business lunch/dinner."

  • "Always a solid choice. Especially convenient for attending an event at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, or Time Warner Arena. Well-chosen wine list, with reasonable restaurant mark-up, and helpful assistance from staff. Most of menu and specials are very good. An occasional over-liberal use of salt."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here before going to a Charlotte Checkers game at Time Warner Cable Arena. It worked out perfect because Aria is located a short walk away (a couple blocks). The food was excellent, we had fried calamari for an appetizer and I had the butternut squash ravioli for my entree. If you're a wine drinker they had a very extensive wine list and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about each option. I would highly recommend this restaraunt and we will definitely be back."

  • "We had 9 people in a gaoup for lunch on a Friday. it's amazing that with the range of menu items that everything came out on time, paced and perfect. The place was busy and every seat packed, yet everything was perfect for our meal. It's not often one sees precision like this at the lunch hour. I know I can depend on this place to exceed my guests expectations and get everyone out in an hour. BTW--the crispy chicken parmigiana is awesome! Also, the deserts, including Blood Orange sorbet, Tiramisu and Hazelnut torte were memorable."

  • "We went for a later lunch and the staff and crowd was reduced so service was just ok and food was just ok. Could have been due to the timing and potential wind down from lunch crowd."

  • "I took my mom here for dinner last night after looking at reviews on Yelp. We both loved the ambiance of the restaurant and our food was delicious. She ordered the Salmon and I had the butternut squash soup. The plates were filling, reasonably priced, and tasted amazing."

  • "Aria has the perfect location in the Bank of America Founder's Hall building, attached to the bank towers and to the Blumenthal Performing Arts center. It has an extremely busy lunch crowd of bankers during the week, and is ideal for dinner after work or before a show at one of the nearby performing arts venues. The menu is creative and the food is top quality, consistently good, well prepared and presented. Aria has a great bar upstairs and one downstairs as well, making it the perfect place for meeting friends in the evening. The staff is friendly and the service is exceptional. I've never been disappointed at Aria, and dine there frequently."

  • "We visited on a Wednesday night and we were very surprised that the dining room was full. Since the room was full, and we were a party of 7, the noise level made conversation very difficult. But the food and service was excellent. The menu had a nice variety of items including items that vegans would enjoy. The pear and goat cheese salad was very good as was the mesto frito. For the main course I had the oven roasted rabbit and it was also very good. The waiter was very attentive and was helpful with the wine selection. I would return but hopefully on an evening when it wasn't quite so busy."

  • "We recently visited Aria before we saw Alton Brown at the Belk Theatre. It is SO convenient! You don't even have to leave the building to get to the theatre. We told the server that we had a show to get to ahead of time. He made sure our food was out and cleared so we'd be on time. We would definitely come back here. The ambience is amazing too! It's low lighting and it looked like there were several BOA happy hour goers at the bar."

  • "What a charming place, excellent food (I had the stuffed trout), the wine list was good, the service excellent. I couldn't decide which Pinot Griggio to order so the waiter brought me both to sample, very nice! The only caviat is the noise level, hard to keep a conversation. So if you want a "quiet" dinner, ask for a table as far away from the bar/music as possible."

  • "Watch out for the wine prices. My 1st experience the bartender recommended a wine without mentioning the price which turned out to be $20 a glass! The wine was good but certainly not worth $20. The 2nd time, 1 of my friends asked for a glass of wine to which the waiter said a bottle would be cheaper. Once again no price was offered & to my shock when the bill came the bottle was $57!!! That's now twice I feel like a victim of "gotcha" with the wine prices. Also my lamb shank while falling off the bone tender had a strange sweet taste to the sauce which was unpleasant & tasted like the cook had accidentally added sugar instead of salt. All I can say is make sure you know the price of any wine you order unless money is no object."

  • "Aria is by far our favorite restaurant uptown, and arguably our fave in all of Charlotte. The food, wine list, service and ambiance all come together to create a lovely experience! You can't go wrong - the entire menu is delicious! We eat here at least once a week and can't get enough of it!"

Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and my wife and I enjoyed a much needed night out without the kids in a mature environment. I love the convenience of the restaurant's location which can be reached by walking through the BofA building or from one of the streets in uptown Charlotte."
