Diner Reviews
  • "There were 7 of us dining at Aria this week from different parts of the US and different backgrounds. All of us would rate our dinners a 10. I had the stropazetti pasta which was phenomenal. Everything was so fresh and tasted like it had just been made. . .which it had!! I cannot recommend this restaurant more strongly. Also the food is at different price points so this wonderful food is doable on many budgets."

  • "Had the orrechiette. Not as good as usual -- a bit too salty and light on broccoli rabe. Otherwise, it was good. Food was relatively quick. Good service."

  • "The food at Aria was incredibly fresh & delicious from the homemade gnocchi appetizer and the fresh crudo to our amazing entrees of both the lamb shank and the duck and the grand finale of tiramisu. Not a detail was missed. Great wine list. Our amazing waitress, Elaine, was so knowledgeable and pleasant I look forward to coming back! Kudos!"

  • "My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our recent visit to Aria. We wanted to go out for a nice dinner at a restaurant with good food and atmosphere, but that was moderately priced, and Aria was the perfect fit. The restaurant was chic but not stuffy, and we loved the decor and great location. We ordered the foie gras ravioli as an appetizer; it was a bit smokey for my taste, but my boyfriend loved it, and the presentation was great. We ordered lasagna and penne alla vodka for our entrees, which were both very good. With drinks (I had a great cocktail with prosecco and strawberry puree), an appetizer, and two entrees, the meal was around $50, which we thought was very reasonable. There was also complimentary valet parking! A great dinner spot."

  • "My wife and I visited Aria over the past weekend. We have a few favorite Italian restaurants where we originate from. We were very taken by the restaurant when we walked into the door. The server was very helpful and providing some recommendations both from the wine and the food menu. The food we had was by far the best Italian food we have had to date. Unique, very well plated, priced well and very delicious. If you are looking for basic noodles and sauce, I would not recommend this restaurant. However if you are looking for an elevated Italian dish, please stop by."

  • "The food was amazing. Everyone at our table loved their meal. The service was ok."

  • "We were invited to a late night cocktail party so we decided to have dinner with friends before hand. The food was delicious and the service adequate. However, IF I were to recommend Tuscan Grill I would caution about the noise level. The music was loud as were several tables nearby to the point where our table of four could not converse. It is definitely not a location for enjoyable food AND conversation."

  • "We went to dinner before the Panthers game and were dressed in game day gear and fit right in. Dress varied from very fancy to very casual. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Our server was fantastic, and asked what time we needed to leave, and by golly, we were finished and on out way to the stadium by that time! We will be going back!!"

  • "We hosted a lunch for some girls from work who were getting married. The Aria lunch special, salad, entry, dessert, small plate was perfect! Their bread was to die for! Quiet when we arrived a bit early but got very loud and was full of business lunchers by the time we left."

  • "We needed a table for 7 imvluding two kids and a baby on a busy night uptown...no problem. The food was magical and the setting was romantic enough to be special but not so much it was awkward with a group. The kids menu was well priced and tasty. I can't wait to go back."

  • "Well located between the Omni and the Ritz-Carlton. Was able to see AC Milan team bus from the restaurant. Great food, service and live music."

  • "We had a fantastic meal at Aria the other night. The lamb shank and wild duck breast were amazing! The classic rustic Italian food here is really worth the trip!"

  • "This was a good restaurant with a variety of great food. The portions were not large on some of the dishes but the quality was very high on everything that we had on the table."

  • "My husband and I have dined at Aria a few times and every time we do the food has been amazing. Our waitress could barely hear us which was a problem making me have to practically yell my order at her. Lasagna was stellar as was the pizza Bianca."

  • "The good was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic! They even had live music and their entire menu was available for Queens Feast! Definitely will go here again!"

  • "Took advantage of Restaurant Week offer. 3 courses & all three were great! Food was delicious, service was good, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was mid-to-upscale. Very enjoyable!"

  • "This was my third time coming to Aria and I love it more and more each time I come. The atmosphere is everything. All of my guests had the best time and raved on how wonderful the restaurant was. The staff was extremely accommodating of my large party even though it was restaurant week. Aria is in my top five list of best restaurants in Charlotte. Kudos to the chef and the entire team for making my birthday dinner special :)"

  • "Food is good, decorated nicely, kind of small; you and your neighbors will share a conversation, unless you're in a group"

  • "Taking advantage of Queen's Feast, we uncovered a great restaurant in Aria Tuscan Grill. There was excellent choice, and the service was quite attentive. I would definitely return, particularly if they had lunch, which I think they do!"

  • "It was evident that Aris didn't concentrate a whole lot on seasoning, but on concentrated a deal on sauce work. I understand foods costs & plate presentation, but it wouldn't hurt for the plated to be sauced a little more. The foods and the sauce last amazing together, but I feel to maintain consistency without the plate& for ultimate satisfaction; SAUCE IS NEEDED!"

  • "I went to Aria with some friends for Queens Feast and it very good! I liked and chose this restaurant for Queens Feast specifically because they offered a lot of items on their prix fix menu, unlike some other restaurants in the city. I gave Aria a "very good" rather than "excellent" merely because nothing we ordered was outstanding still talking about it the next day level great. However, nothing anyone ordered was less than "very good" either. I really liked the atmosphere in here though, it's elegant yet relaxed - It almost feels like one big dinner party!"

  • "The atmosphere is comfortably business casual. The food was fine. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about. The service was friendly and warm, but not particularly expert on the food or wine."

  • "We didn't even realize it and we snuck in a reservation for restaurant week! This was a BIG treat because we got to try 3 courses for only $30 and they have their FULL MENU! Everything was so delicious, we had a great time, a great server, and an all around great experience!"

  • "The initial entry into the restaurant was thru the B of A atrium which forced us to go down the stairs to the Greeting Station that is servied, not by the 200 S Tryon address but a side street address, which would have been beneficial. We then turned around and had to go back up stairs to our table. Beyond that the food was very good and the service was good."

  • "First-time visit. Glad to have been seated upstairs. Lower level was very noisy with most tables spaced closely together. Not enough aisle space upstairs between tables either. Servers and other patrons kept bumping my chair through no fault of their own. On the positive side the food itself was quite good. Mussels with fennel and garlic and lamb shank were both excellent. My wife's gnocchi and trout were, according to her, delicious as well."

  • "I came her during restaurant week. What a great choice I made Love it!!"

  • "The food was just okay. I expected at least one thing to be be a WOW this is really good, but no. Scallops were good but the vegetable had a very strong vinegar taste. The salmon was bland. I only ate a few bites. The service was very good. They were really busy the night we were there."

  • "the food is great, the service is great, the only complaint was poor lighting, and the menu print was so small had to use a 10x magnifier to see it..."

  • "It was ok. Simple Italian . Food could have been more authentic."

  • "We were visiting from out of town during restaurant week; saw Aria's website and made a reservation. We had trouble finding it and parking, but once inside, it was worth the hassle! Very pleasant staff, great corner table and the food surpassesd our expectations. (We're from Charleston, SC and know good restaurants). We had mussel appetizers that were outstanding. I had the scallop entree, which was very good, but my date's entree, the lamb shank was the best, a wonderful melody of flavors and incredibly tender. Overall a great dining experience."

  • "We had a wonderful time, went to the bar first, met Jeff and had some really great drinks, Sidecar was yummy, then our dinner was so good, service was great, we had such a good time, will be back for sure.."

  • "Our second visit was during Queen's Feast and this time everything was great and the menu provide was very large. Throughly enjoyed our visit with friends in the restaurant. can be very noisey."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "What a fantastic menu! There's a little something for everyone at Aria Tuscan Grill. I highly recommend the gnocchi appetizer; talk about a taste explosion. Dishes are beautifuly presented and portion sizes appropriate to allow for full enjoyment of the menu."

  • "Both my wife and I had the Pork Arrosto. We would never serve such a fatty, tasteless cut of meat to anyone. The only good thing about it was the sauce. My wife's Shaved Kale Salad was excellent, but my Caprese Salad was forgetable as I could taste neither the tomatoes or Mozzarella. Don't bother coming here if you want to have a close conversation as tables are on top of each other and the noise level it quite loud ( they would do well to install something to baffle the reverberating noise level). When making our reservations, I added a note that this was a special occasion, and we were celebrating my wife's birthday. I had to remind the waiter as the note was not passed to him. Alas, he still forgot."

  • "Many people appreciate a good glass of wine with dinner. I detest the awful glasses in which Aria serves their wine. Why can't they afford nice wine glasses?"
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "Very knowledgeable staff. It was great for a date night for my wife and I. Portions were perfect. The duck was outstanding. From the discussion with our server, the chef seemed to care and take the time to experiment to offer unique dishes. And the tiramisu was out of this world."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "For a Saturday evening, Aria was not very busy- less than half full. However, we were seated directly between two other large parties even though there were many other two-tops available. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was hit or miss- the gnocchi appetizer was great but the pasta dishes were bland; the pasta obviously came from a box rather than house-made and the sauces were unappealing all around."
