  • "The restaurant is very pretty inside. Food was alright. It came in small portions, which we knew from reading other reviews. Another downside was that the washrooms were outside of the restaurant, and you need a keycard to get in, which we always had to ask the waiters for."

  • "Let me start off by saying that the food was very good and the service was adequate. When I go to high end restaurants I usually expect the portion size to be on the smaller size. At Aria is was very small, to the point that I left feeling ripped off. We ended up going home and making a snack because we were both still a bit hungry after spending $150 on food (that included one drink). For that reason I won't be coming back."

  • "We had a terrific meal at Aria. We arrived to a pretty empty dining room that was positively jumping by the time we left. Good food (though the veal chop, while a very nice sized portion, would have benefited from a more interesting garnish than an arugula and cherry tomato salad, particularly for $39; the veal cheeks on the other hand, were both ample and divine), good service, great ambiance and an unbeatable location for catching a show at the ACC. We would definitely recommend."

  • "The ambiance, location to the ACC along with staff and service was fantastic. However the meal was not as notable. The richness and saltiness was over whelming. To the point that it irritated my throat with every swallow. As I attempted to explain to our server, he spoke over me and didn't listen to what I was saying. He spoke as if he didn't anticipate the complaint and told me to enjoy. The pricy menu did not match the taste. Our party of four was not impressed."

  • "It was my first time there and I was very impressed. The wait staff were attentive and obviously used to attending to people who were there before an event. The food was world class--some of the best fresh gnocchi I ever had. The wine list was impressive and we'll maintained. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "A cheerfully elegant ambiance. Warm and bright. Service was efficient without annoyance. Food quantity (perfect for a lunchtime meal), presentation and taste: all just perfect! My guest and I each selected house wine (one white, one red), both lovely. We each had a different pasta: both incredible. I tend to live vicariously via the dessert menu, that is to say, I don't generally have dessert unless something really leaps off the page at me but I always like to know what's on offer. I could see that there was a nice selection but as a chocaholic, if I don't see 'death-by-chocolate' or the equivalent thereof, I pass. This restaurant is a real find and a definite favourite."

  • "It was our first visit, and although the reservation system had a glitch and we were not registered, the owners opened up early and welcomed us even though they were fully booked. The place quickly filled up, the mood was energetic, and the music previewed our upcoming concert with Sting and Paul Simon. Very thoughtful! The Scallops were tender and buttery, just right. The pasta was flavourful and again, just right. Service was very attentive. Overall excellent. Would highly recommend. Sue Spizziri"

  • "Found the reception rather cool upon arrival. Our server, Michael, was helpful and knowledgable. We ordered the burrata appetizer to share. The presentation was nothing special--burrata opened at table with grilled bread and a smear of pear puree with a few walnuts. My husband enjoyed his branzino which he said was very good, as was my ravioli. While the design was inspired, the feeling of the restaurant was too open, lacking intimacy. The tables were too close together, making private conversation difficult--could hear adjacent diners' conversations. The main reason we didn't love our experience was because we felt a cold blast of air every time the door opened, which happened frequently, and was very distracting. Would not return."

  • "Chose Aria because of the close proximity to the ACC. We had an excellent meal. Booked for 5:00 pm so we wouldn't be rushed, due to the other reviews on slow service. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The appetizers came promptly, as was the main course. Food was beautifully presented, superbly seasoned and well prepared. Saffron seafood pasta was to die for. My husband really enjoyed the slow cooked veal cheeks. Great Chef. As things got busier, the less we saw of our waiter. The dessert took 55 min to come, and that was 45 after our coffee arrived. They either need more wait staff or more help in the kitchen to respond to a full house. We loved our dinner and would definitely return. Great for a pre-ACC dinner."

  • "options are limited when wanting to eat close to the ACC. This is good and close to the venue. I would go there again before an event. Everything was great…just don't order the Tuna appetizer, it can with tons of raisins (not a good compliment to such a beautiful fish)"

  • "It was a busy night and they were brutally Ill prepared. We were seated beside the busy swinging kitchen door. Service was SLOW, and they were out of the branzino I ordered. Then they were also out of my second choice! It is a small menu and there weren't many other menu items I wanted, so I asked for a minimal pasta on the dish I settled on - of course it arrived as pretty much a pasta only dish. Fortunately the concert we attended afterwards was wonderful, helping us to salvage the evening. Aria was a truly miserable experience - don't even think about going there on a busy night."

  • "Party of four on sat night 7pm. The place is not busy at all. Food is salty. Waiter is rude and careless. Diskes are dumped on table when ready. Food fall apart and mess up. The waiter not even say sorry. When pick up the dishes, the waiter drop the folk and knife on the floor. Everyone is looking at our table. What a enjoyable night"

  • "Made reservations for Valentines day and a day prior to they called to confirm. The day-of, I must say everything went smoothly, despite being a touch short-staffed. All facets of the meal were great. The service (Mark) was superb and food quality was excellent. My only areas of complaint would be the bread (not very good) and the wine list. Despite being many pages deep, it had too many 'trophy wines' and hardly any local offerings. With over 200+ wineries in our backyard (Ontario) we have some great local wines being produced. They could have offered more than 2 wines, and that I where I often look to buy first. Overall I would recommend."

  • "The food was superb, however the service left little to be desired. We arrived at 12:15 as per my reservation and was seated immediately. Which we took as a great start to our meal, and the server came to our table soon after to take our order. And this is where the service went downhill. We waited over 15 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. We chalked that up to it being a little busy. However we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for our entrées to arrive. As what we thought would be a nice one hour lunch between meetings ended up taking almost two hours. The wait for our dessert took the longest, almost 25 minutes with no explanation from our server even when we had to follow up with him. All we got was "it's coming"."

  • "The food at Aria was one of the worse lunches I've had in a very long time. It took them almost 40 minutes to bring the order. The calamari was undercooked. The beef and my friend's salted cod (despite the name, it is not supposed to be very salty) had so much salt, it was almost inedible."

  • "A group of 5 of us went for winterlicious. I arrived early and sat at the bar and after about 5 minutes had to request a cocktail list. In fairness they were trying to get diners out for a concert that was about to start. Once we were seated everything was wonderful. The wine was very reasonably priced, and delicious. The food was incredible. Our table raved over the scallops and the veal. We will definitely be back."

  • "My waiter said to another waiter in earshot from me - because my guest was late that I screwed up his process/orders. It seems that Winterlicious guests are not given the appropriate service they deserve. There's a lot of unnecessary side comments and frowned faces. I didn't get the vibe that I'm being treated correctly. This is unfortunate since the waiter didn't know that I go to restaurants often nor that I could be posting this comment to 18k of my Twitter followers. Just because it's winterlicious doesn't mean the service needs to be sub-par."

  • "Everything went spectacularly minus a few small blips. The food was delicious and came out of the kitchen very quickly. The server was attentive and kept our glasses filled with wine. Great ambience and plenty of seating. The restaurant was fairly quiet, which meant I didn't have to raise my voice to hear my friend. My feedback for improvement would be to provide every table with the wine and drinks list when seated (we had to ask twice for the list) and in terms of the food, the bread for the steak tartare was slightly stale and though it was toasted, it was hard as a rock. Will definitely return though!"

  • "My friends and I went to Aria for this year's Winterlicious. I picked Aria because of the recommendations from many Toronto blogs. I chose the steak tartare, braised veal cheeks and the chocolate bonet dessert. For $45, this is one place you need to head to for Winterlicious. The veal cheeks were the most tender cheeks I have ever had. A knife was not required for this dish. The cheeks were sitting on top of a potato/pumpkin puree which really enhanced the flavour of the meat. It was my first time having steak tartare and I enjoyed every bite of it. The texture at first can be unusual but as you dig in more, you start to enjoy it more and more."

  • "The deco is open concept with extremely dynamic lighting fixtures and a spectacular art form of birch straps weaved throughout the ceiling. The wait staff were very professional and helpful. The scallop appetizer was delicious and my dinner of beef cheeks simply melted in my mouth. A wonderfully delicious experience I can not wait to return."

  • "Went here for the first time before a Raptors game. The food was prepared so quickly it was incredible. The portions were perfect - not too big that you need a nap after, not so small that you need to order 5 desserts to fill up. Dinner menu has a nice variety, the wine list is quite lengthy and had a good variety of wines. Dessert was great. The service was excellent, very attentive, wanted to know if we were trying to make it to the game so they knew how much time we had. Overall very pleased and would definitely go again."

  • "Had a wonderful experience at Aria Ristorante! The service stood out as being far above and beyond our expectations in terms of pace, professionalism, and the surprisingly thoughtful touches (ex., plating the fluke crudo on 2 separate plates because we were sharing). Our server was very accommodating as well to a few special requests that we made and really went out of his way. The menu was limited because it was an event night, but the kitchen let us order off the full menu at our request. The carpaccio was great, the fluke crudo was exceptional and the burrata was the best that we have ever had. The osso bucco was thick, meltingly tender and decadent. The octopus was overseasoned but still delightful. We will absolutely be back!"

  • "It was a disaster. I had made a reservation for 5:15 for four people. We were attending a hockey game at the Air Canada centre for 7:00. Our starters arrived 45 minutes later at 6:15. This was the moment of the first of the many apologies that would follow. The mains for 3 of our party arrived at 6:35. Again, many "Rob Ford" type apologies. At 6:45 the waiter announced to me that my main course (rainbow trout) was still being prepared. However he offered me either filet mignon or lamb as an immediate alternative. (I wasn't sure if he was highjacking someone's order or it was left over from the previous night). I turned down the offer and told him I would have a couple of hot dogs at the ACC for my main course."

  • "I greatly enjoyed my lunch and appreciated the fact that the chef could substitute gluten free pasta. I have worked in the same building for a year but had not yet been to Aria because when I checked the menu online there was no mention of gluten free options. So when I was invited there for lunch I was pleasantly surprised that there was gluten free pasta available. Recommend you put this on your menu online as I tend to avoid Italian restaurants that don't offer gluten free options as it's just too depressing not being able to enjoy what everyone else is eating."
