Diner Reviews
  • "I made a reservation for a group of 10 people. It was supposed to be a lunch for my team. Your wait staff rushed us out of the restaurant and basically stood over our table making us feel uncomfortable and as if we had to rush and finish our meal. Your restaurant was not filled to capacity and people were not waiting to be seating. I often treat my staff to lunch and, in the future, your restaurant will not be our place of choice because of the poor service we received."

  • "Used to eat here several years ago and was disappointed with the changes. Much less attractive--more like the food court but on the plaza. still good pizza, though and thoughtful staff."

  • "For such a limited menu, Aria could do a better job on what it sends out of the kitchen. It's a convenient place if you're at Federal Triangle and don't want a full meal. Service at this venue (Aria and its predecessors) has never been good. It's adequate, if tardy; not particularly knowledgeable; amiable but not particularly friendly or welcoming. There is so much potential, particularly for happy hour and service. Oh well. I'll come back because it's right there."

  • "Great place for lunch. Good service and good food."

  • "We are vegans, so we were not expecting "great food" of that type at a pizza place. We were wonderfully surprised. The waitress was very attentive and the food was so good that we will definitely be going back."

  • "I go there because my office is in the building and the food is OK, but the music is always blasting. Every time we ask for it to be turned down, it doesn't happen."

  • "I've been wanting to go to Aria for a while. My daughter, who shares a name with the restaurant, asked that we take her to Aria for her 10th birthday dinner. We got the the restaurant around 7pm. It was virtually empty. As previous reviewers commented the music was WAY TO LOUD! AND ANNOYING. it was impossible to maintain a conversation. Music was tired R&B. The service was awful - waited 20 minutes for a waiter only to be told to move to another section in the empty restaurant as our waiter went home. Food was mediocre at best. I would rather to Olive Garden or Sbarro. Do not go to Aria. I give it a couple of years before it's made into a McDonalds. It can't happen soon enough."

  • "This place should probably be considered more of a tourist place than anything else. The food was sub-par; the personal pizzas looked appetizing though all toppings slid off when people tried to eat a slice. The majority of people in my group had paninis. The paninis were comparable to microwaveable Hot Pockets. My biggest complaint, however, about the place was the service. The waitstaff was polite enough but it seriously took 35 minutes for us to get drinks and the waitstaff barely came over to our table. If a place was slammed, I could understand this but the place was very empty with only a few families around."

  • "This place enjoys one of the best locations in DC (largest patio, close to everything, feels European) but unfortunately food and service are mediocre at best. Inside place is dark and has so many TVs you can hardly enjoy time with family / friends. Once in the past my reservation was canceled without prior warning and I returned simple because of the location. What a mistake."

  • "We've been to Aria before but sat outside - this was the first time eating indoors and the first thing we noticed was how loud the music was - which was fine because they were playing great 80s dance music! The food was good - our group ordered the pesto chicken Panini, chicken alfredo, meatball sandwich and a soup and salad combo - a little bit of everything. No complaints! We will likely come back because this restaurant is our go-to for pre-concert dinners. The restaurants around the Verizon Center are always packed and many don't take reservations. This is a nice gem away from the concert crowds if you don't mind walking a few blocks."

  • "All about location -- this is a perfect spot for tourists without high expectations. It was a score for us because we had ten people!"

  • "Great for pre-theater food when attending shows at the National Theatre. Not too expensive."

  • "This is right next to work, so its very convenient. The service is fast and efficient! The food was excellent. Had the margharita pizza and it rocked!! We were celebrating a co workers promotion and waitress did not give us a hard time about splitting the bill! That's a plus."

  • "My wife and I have been several times to Aria and passed through the different owners and changes of menu. I must say that recently their food has greatly improved, which makes this restaurant more attractive! Besides, the location makes Aria one of the best options around the National Mall. Highly recommended!"

  • "Made a reservation for 3 for a business meeting. We arrived a bit early, but they were able to seat us immediately. The server was polite and attentive. The food arrived altogether and well displayed. The salads were very good. The chicken salad wrap came with a balsamic dressing that was very oily and abundant. It was very messy to eat and tasted of oil. It was more than just satisfactory, but not outstanding. The internal decor leaves a lot to be desired. They do have plenty of outdoor seating with wrought iron tables and chairs that are adequate to the function. The tables on the interior need a bit of update. Overall, it was a good experience for an occasional lunch."

  • "I had the turkey wrap. It was not good at all. The turkey was soggy. There were too many tomatoes and they were soggy which in turn made the wrap soggy. I have been here several times for lunch since it's right by my job. The food is never great, but it's never this bad."
