Diner Reviews
  • "I dined in Aria a year ago for the first time when I just moved to Atlanta, me and my roommate had the private room downstairs reserved, it was ok experience - overpriced food, poor service, but great wine list. I decided to give this place another try and made a reservation for Tuesday night. For an appetizer me and my date got fried oysters, which were ok. For the main course I ordered scallops. Somehow it took almost an hour for the waiter to bring us the main dish, considering that it was not busy in the restaurant. Finally, starving, I got my scallops and to my surprise they were super salty, it was impossible to eat them, so I had to send them back! And btw be careful if you order a cocktail there, my double goose was 27$$$$!!INSANE!"

  • "Amazing food from a place that was non stop from the time we got there. It was all handled perfectly by a group of well trained servers and staff that knew how to treat their guests. Would recommend in a heartbeat to anyone who is looking for a five star restaurant experience in Atlanta."

  • "Hamachi starter was clean and flavorful with several complimentary and enhancing garnishes. And grouper main was cooked to perfection. Just make sure to find/use the accent flavors on various parts of the plate (like the Meyer lemon sauce)."

  • "We went to Aria for a Birthday celebration. The food was excellent, thought the halibut was delicious, as were the ribs. The seating against the wall was odd and difficult to get comfortable. We all felt pushed to leave as the manager came up while we were sharing a birthday dessert and ask how everything was and then quickly attempted to remove the dessert . We actually were not finished but he asked repeatedly if he could remove it so we said alright. I think it's rude to keep asking if you can remove a plate with food when the guests were hesitating. On the same note this is the first restaurant I have eaten at that did not give you a complimentary birthday dessert . I think at the prices here they could have done that."

  • "I made reservations at this restaurant for my boyfriends 35th birthday. It was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We chose the chef tasting and added the 1/2 portions of the Lobster and Foie Gras (I heard they were must tries). Everything was mouthwatering! Neither of us could decide what was better, because everything that came out was our new favorite! But when we reflected at the end of the meal it was just overall amazing. If you have never been then I suggest the Chef tasting. It allows you to get a feel for the menu and try a broad range of things. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We had out of town guests in to help celebrate my wifes birthday, as this is her favorite place in Atlanta. We had another wonderful dinning experience. Had new menu, spinach soup a wonderful surprise. Short ribs always great. All had a outstanding meal, with top service from Mike. We will be back soon."

  • "The appetizers were better than the entrée I selected. We had the ferris, duck liver and the lobster. Both were completely delicious. However, I was not so satisfied with the fish I selected. At any rate, we had great time and the service was awesome. Oh yeah, the we also had the warm Carmel cheese cake. It was awesome."

  • "Dining at Aria is always an experience. Some folks use it as a special occasion restaurant (you will see anniversaries and birthdays) and others just use it as a fine dining option. Whatever the reason, I am never disappointed to go. The food and drink will always make you happy to be at Aria. For this particular dinner, my husband opted for the lobster appetizer and the filet - swapping out the beets for "chef's choice" which ended up being a FEW choices on the plate - SURPRISE and YUM! I opted for the lobster as well with the beet salad and a hamachi. Three apps are enough for a dinner. And the bread? It is like a croissant in bread form. I wish I could take a loaf of it home for breakfast! Drinks? The french reds are best."

  • "It has been a long time since we've been back to Aria ... don't know why its been so long, i guess we forget about it. the food was really fantastic - highly recommend the venison loin, it was served with wild rice and a deep reduction sauce / glaze. drink a glass of the Giacosa nebbiolo .... matches very well with this dish. the portions are perfectly sized so that you can have a starter, main and a dessert. (try the hazlenut chevre cheesecake)"

  • "Me and my significant other were coming from out of town to an event. I saw Aria in a magazine somewhere saying how delicious the food was. The atmosphere was wonderful and romantic. The menu wasn't over priced and the food was delicious. Everything was so tender it melted in your mouth. The dessert was delightful! I've never thought that spearmint ice cream would taste so good."

  • "The food was great. The place is expensive but the dish prices are really not that bad compared to other restaurants of this caliper. Where they get you are the drink prices. $16 for a single Old Fashion and $12 for a Rum Runner. Wine prices are pretty high as well. The bill escalates by the cost of any substitutions$6, and anything other than tap (say tap) water is $2.50 for 6 oz. The food was wonderful. The short ribs melted in my mouth like a slow cooked pot roast and was perfectly seasoned. The celery root soup tasted decadent and the bread fingers were perfect with it. Also one more note, even though you make a reservation through Open Table, they will call you and require you return the call to confirm the reservation. Annoying."

  • "Excellent meals for all three at the table. Wonderfully presented and very flavorful. First time visit but have already recommended it to others and will take more guests in the future."

  • "Aria has been my favorite restaurant in Atlanta for years - nothing else even comes close. It does a great job of walking the line between trendy and traditional, so it is great for almost any occasion. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and every time I would give it 5 stars. The service is fantastic and the food is absolutely out of this world. It's so good, in fact, that when we try a new restaurant we're almost always disappointed that we didn't just go back to Aria! One small note: the wine is quite expensive, so you may consider a cocktail instead - ask for their specialty cocktail list because they're always delicious, too!"

  • "To Start: Foie gras, crispy with diced strawberries. The best I have ever tried. Entre: Duck was a bit dry, but portion was generous and they provided a sauce at my request. My dates scallops were well prepared and tasted delish. Desert was B+. Service was top notch. $190 out the door. Overall A-/ B+"

  • "Loved the preparation but had difficulty with the menu. Needs more shellfish selections. This is a hearty, game influenced menu. For women diners, we need lighter choices."

  • "Aria is fit for foodies, a great place for a special occasion and accommodates conversation. It is congenial and friendly in its atmosphere (although the waiter we had was a little stiff and standoffish). We met friends from out of town here on business and really wanted to catch up and focus on our visit while enjoying good food and atmosphere. Mission accomplished! My only question is: what IS that ceiling decoration? It was modern art and works to enhance the elegance and conviviality of the place BUT what IS it? Go and see for yourself. :-)"

  • "Nice place with a cool vibe. Food had some good points but wasn't consistent. Short ribs were great, New York strip was not. Overall it was good but for the price, wasn't great."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Aria. The food was very good--the fried oyster appetizer was amazing, and my husband loved the venison. Our waiter was outstanding--helpful with comments on what he recommended, etc. Loved the small details that make you think "What a great idea," like bringing your drink to the table in a small cocktail shaker--not only does it not spill, but it looks classier."

  • "Ambience was super and the service was lovely. The starters were so delicious! Then I was let let down with the entrees. Everyone has different tastes but I thought the fish was dry and the meat more salty than I would have liked."

  • "Booked for our 32 wedding anniversary. Looked hard for a romantic spot a cut above the other crowded Atlanta dining scene. Was not disappointed. Table for two. White tablecloths. Excellent food. Excellent wine. Excellent service. I only wish I had discovered the wine cellar table in time for this reservation. Will have to go back soon to experience that dining experience."

  • "Love the entry bar area. Intrigued by the odd lighting sculpture. Thankful for the readable menu. Enjoy the flexibility of the chef to let me order a single entree off of the tasting menu. Thank you, Aria!"

  • "As always, we had another exceptionally prepared meal. The celery root soup was smooth and flavorful. The crab cakes were seasoned perfectly and clearly some of the best in the city. The lemon sole and short ribs were, as always, superb and notable standouts. The chocolate espresso cake is our favorite dessert in the city. Mike provided exemplary service and we plan to return soon."

  • "We have eaten here many times and this was our most disappointing visit. Service was not what we are accustomed to. It was slow and our server was not as attentive as others in the past. The food was good but not up to the level that we have come to expect here. Maybe they just had an off night."

  • "Since most restaurants were booked on Valentine's day, we chose to go out on Sunday evening. I found that Open Table can steer me away from bad restaurants! I've not been to Aria but heard very nice things about it. We were not disappointed. From the prompt valet parking, the warm greeting from the hostess and Kim our waiter, the evening was wonderful. Aria has an extensive wine list and menu items for everyone. We both had the grouper on lentils. The fish was properly cooked, the salads were crisp and not drenched in bottled dressing. Kim was outstanding. Nearby but not hovering. We decided that Aria will be on our "list" for another meal. Having been shafted by not checking Open Table first, I hope your meal is as enjoyable as ours"

  • "Upon Hubby (also a chef) and my first visit to Aria we were happily greeted and seated in the wait area by the bar then quickly seated. The dining room is a very open, yet not too crowded white-walled area. Clean and modern with funky statues and artwork. It felt a bit cold (especially the draft coming down the fireplace chimney) and could use some visual warmth IMO. But that melted away once we took a bite of the food. Spectacular, complex flavors! The prawns, the scallops, the short rib, the coconut cake! Everything was delightful. Service was great and the manager was wonderful with helping with my giftcard issue. One of our new favs and even impressed Hubby which isn't easy. We will be back! Chef Gerry raised the culinary bar in ATL."
