A second superb dining experience at Argyle...love the crust and sauce choices and reasonable pricing for add-ons. Solid, tasty appetizers; enjoyed the stone crab salad and delicious carpaccio with fried oysters. Would like to see a lower corkage fee than $30 and decanting offered. Felt a little pressured into dessert, which was good but not exceptional. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal, though we would encourage parents with kids to leave them at home or make a 5 PM reservation. It's not a place for toddlers in high chairs at 7:30.

Formal dining experience. Excellent food. A unique shared menu with a unique presentation. Great for those who want smaller portions and those who love to sample. Starter of either soup/salad. Corn soup served hot- several unique flavours. Corn bread which was very moist. Halibut, filet mignon, slow cooked short rib were part of the shared main course. The halibut was fresh , grilled perfectly. Filet mignon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Short rib was very meaty and tasty. Creamy whipped potatoes, mixed corn relish and coleslaw complemented the main course. Volcano cake for dessert with house made smores (no camp fire)

Wonderful food and splendid service, including a knowledgeable, attentive and friendly waiter. Only discordant note was an eggplant dish which was unedible. We ate outside which was beautiful and quiet since there was a noisy party indoors (ask before you reserve at any restaurant). Will go back many times.

Friends recommended going to Argyle Steakhouse for a special celebration so we went for our anniversary. The food was good. We chose the couple's special. But introspect, we probably each should have chosen our own meals as my husband likes his beef really cooked and I like mine medium rare. We requested medium but it came back really rare. Also, my husband ordered a draft beer but was given a bottled beer without even asking him first. We had an outside table with a nice view. It was a warm evening so was very comfortable sitting outside. There were only a few other guests so the restaurant was empty. Service was really good. The waiters were friendly and constantly came to check on us.

The Greg Norman Waygu beef is extremely expensive. $16 per ounce for the "Eye of the Rib." However, one must try it once in your life. Literally the must delicious steak I have ever enjoyed. Decor at Argyle is very sad, it really needs a face over. If you have never been there, it is kind of tricky to find. It's hidden away on the Aviara golf course and they have very poor signage. However, the wait staff is great. Food is very good. The Carlsbad oyster were good. Salads and soups were very creative. I recommend the warm spinach salad and corn soup. All the steaks were prime, and as expected prepared to your liking. The wine list is adequate. Desserts are okay. The homemade ice cream is pretty good. Try the banana flavor.

We have stayed at the Park Hyatt several times since the birth of our son, and this is the second time we have dined here--first when our son was 9months and this time he is 20months. We found the food exceptional. My husband and son loved the popovers! This time, we got the Double Eagle prix fixe which was a great deal and fed all three of us. The food quality & quantity exceeded expectations. The restaurant is more upscale than the usual family joint, but waiters were accomodating with our toddler. All in all, a great meal.

Out server Lauren made our evening special. It was a birthday celebration with only three adults, but the dining was great and the suggestions and advise from the server, and her attention, made us feel very welcome. My only negative comment was that I had left a message at a phone number provided on the website to order a cake and/or flowers 48 hrs. before our reservation, and the call was never returned so I could do so.

Thought we would give this a try as it is conveniently located near us in Carlsbad. Nice atmosphere. Service was very good but our meal was average. The wedge salad was prepared with lettuce that was not fresh. Our steaks were good but not great. Our side dishes were unimpressive. (Lobster Mac and cheese was runny and way too salty. For the cost (+ $250) for 2, we'll dine elsewhere next time.

I imagine that there's a lot of pressure on chefs these days to produce surprising and innovative results. So often when dining at popular restaurants I feel like they're trying a little too hard at this game with very mixed results. This is not true at Argyle, where the food and service are consistently top notch every single time. When I'm taking someone to dinner for a special occasion, I want to know that they're going to be pleasantly blown away by the experience. I can always count on Argyle Steakhouse for that!

We came to celebrate our 32 Anniversary and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. However, the ambiance was lacking to say the least, for a place that you would spend 200.00 plus for dinner the fact that kids run freely and are loud was disturbing to us. We made the best of it and could have arranged a later dining time, but who wants to eat a 3 course or ore meal at 9:00 p.m.? Not me. I want to dine in a nice quiet, romantic atmosphere and continue the night elsewhere with dancing or whatever..... So, if you want peace and romance I don't recommend the loud boisterous atmosphere we experienced here. The wagyu steaks were exceptional and the raw oyster appetizer was a delight.

This was my wife's birthday, and I ordered flowers thru the link shown. Thse were on the table when we were seated, and looked gorgeous even ththough we were very early for our reservation. Great steaks, including smaller portions (5oz) for smaller appetites. Knowledgeable, attentive and friendly service. Wine list very acceptable, from novice to connosseur. And everyone we dealt with smiled, a great quality indeed, may times forgotten in so many places. Overall an excellent experieince.

For a 5 Diamond resort to have such poor quality service and food was really a shocker. Food was bland, not really much flavor in the appetizers or side dishes Waiter did not do a good job to describe the menu to us. My sister was allergic to any form of walnut products. We were assured by the waiter that "there was nothing on the menu that had walnut products". After checking with the kitchen, the waiter said that the salad and chocolate desserts "might have walnuts". The silverware was worn, (lots of scratches). Not a pleasant experience for a $$$$ gourmet steakhouse.

This is a great restaurant that's part of the park HYATT AVIARA although it's not in the hotel building. It's actually down the hill near the golf club the reason this is great is because it offers beautiful views of the lagoon and golf course. I recommend a table outside if it's warm enough. Service Was on par, as usual, as we had two men attending to us. They offer a great prix fix menu that's a great deal - for 2 people, you each get to choose a soup or salad, then you share an entree that consists of several different meats (we had short ribs, sirloin and fish) and then two vegetable choices. Then you get a dessert to split. I'd recommend the wine pairing that goes with it because they offer great wines and port to try with your meal.

I had heard that the food was amazing! And yes it was!! But the atmosphere could use some updating. It more of a hotel feel than a great steak house feel. When we arrived we (5 moms out for a girls night) were seated next to a table with high chairs and a mess that you wouldn't believe. I know that's not the restaurants fault but I feel they should have sat us somewhere else. It was kind of disappointing because the meal was not cheap. But oh the food!!!!! Everything was fantastic!!

And whoever thought of the bacon jam on toast deserves the decadence award of 2014. The staff was outstanding. Like most steak restaurants, it will be $100 a person if you order a glass of wine, appetizer, main and a side per person. The ambience was fantastic to boot.

We had an Easter lunch. My wife's holandaise was not so great not fresh. The Crab sandwiches were wonderful but my lamb special was terrible cold inedible and just a sliced lamb sausage?. Finally, we were able to find a steakhouse that wasn't the usual Ruth"s Chris, Cowboy Star, Flemmings, etc. We wanted to try something different. After doing a search online and finding this place, we decided to give it a try because it offers Wagyu beef. My wife and I ordered a couple of ounces of the Wagyu beef to try. Yes, I said ounces. They well it by the ounce and we also ordered their bone-in ribeye as well. We ate the Wagyu beef first and immediately ate some of the bone-in ribeye to get an immediate and direct comparison to see if there really is a difference. Wow is what both my wife and I said. The Wagyu beef really is that good. Do yourself a favor and give it a try if you've never had it before. You won't go wrong.

Every time we return to Argyle, we are once again impressed with the quality of the wait staff, the ambiance and the very high quality of the food. Every dish is beautifully prepared and served and the steaks are among the best anywhere. As good as the many steakhouses in San Diego are, Argyle takes it to a whole other level. Add a very good wine list and service that is attentive but not intrusive and you have a first rate dining experience.
