There were 7 of us - and 6 liked their food very much. The Caesar salad was a bit over-dressed. And the spaghetti with meat sauce was actually Bolognese sauce, which wasn't that person's choice - but we do like this place and everything was good overall.

Great service, compliments to the kitchen. Fresh made pasta with seared scallops that were just this side of being done. Very impressed for first time. Service was patient as our 2 year old through grated Parmesan cheese across the table (as we attempted to stop it, of course). Management's response? Dessert on the house. Will certainly go back for the fresh pasta and great table service from the dining room staff as well as try other options on the menu!

Let me preface this with we have loved Argias for years. But the last time we were there, it was a subpar experience. Food prices were higher and my dish lacked flavor (unlike prior visits when it was great). And they forgot to bring out or cook one of our 6 entrees so 5 of us got out food while one of us had to wait another 20 mins for food. No apology, no adjustment to the bill, no free dessert. Nothing. Just an excuse that they had to make sure the fish was cooked through. Really? Come on. This was not a great experience overall (birthday celebration) which is too bad given how Argias used to be one of our "go to" food destinations. Hope things improve soon.

We visited Argia's on a Saturday night and chose to dine outdoors. As such we were serenaded by the band from Clare & Don's next door. No problem, it added to the experience. The food here is quite good, and the outdoor seating area is very pleasant. You get your value for the dollar here--I really enjoyed by Fettuccini Alfredo, and my wife devoured the Seafood Pasta. The wine is reasonably priced. The service is capable and pleasant. Definitely not a subject of a "Food and Wine Magazine" article, but definitely worth a return visit. One really good point for me--they have a good selection of draft beer! :)

Last Friday my husband, son and I went to Argia's for dinner. We tried some of the new seafood pasta entrees, which were excellent. Our 7-year-old son Michael most enjoyed the chocolate cake he had for dessert. Everything was delicious. In addition, the owners and wait staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. Thank you, Argia's, for a fun night out with the family.

I always loved going to Argia's but something has changed. Perhaps it's under new management? The second dining room is now closed and the main room was not very busy on a Friday night with the exception of a very large table with lots of kids. Service was polite but slow. The staff didn't look excited to be there. Our order was lost so it took a while just to get the salad. The rest of our meal came out appropriately. Oddly, they couldn't get the peppermill to work. They came back twice, and neither time would it work. The food was good, but not special as it has been in the past. We got the special tagliatelle and the spaghetti pescatore. Both fine, although too much salt in the butter sauce on the spaghetti. Portions were nice.

Moderate prices, great service, and great food. Of note is that food portion selections have a solo size and a family size. It won't disappoint. The selection above for outdoor dining is "great for outdoor dining." I would describe it as adequate to have a good time. We had a party of 6. Bottom line is: Very good overall.

I miss the old Argia's where food was a bit pricey but quality was outstanding and portions were generous. Used to be able to share a solo sized salad, and for $10 that made sense. Salads are still as pricey but portions are less than half of what they used to be. The value just isn't there anymore even with the groupon. I feel mixed about returning.

Open table listed Argia as a good Italian restaurant with outside dining -- just what you want on a summer's night, right? What they didn't mention was the view from the outdoor dining area is the parking lot and trash bins. The good news is that all the pasta is home made but the two dishes we ordered were disappointing -- the "specialty" that evening was a plate of chunky, dry salmon, sliced cherry tomatoes thrown in with fettuccini with very little sauce. I had to use the seasoned olive oil to add moisture to the dish. The homemade bread is a stand out as was the chocolate mousse dessert. Also a standout, the very friendly staff and owners who make you wish the food was a standout as well.

I have visited Argia's many times over the last few years. This was the first visit where I was truly disappointed with the visit. The food has absolutely no taste (not crazy about the menu change at all). I ordered the chicken parm and I think it tasted like it came out of a frozen food box. The waiter seemed new and hadn't quite finissed his skills yet. When asked about the specials, he wasn't sure what some of the ingredients were or how to say them. He asked us if we wanted to read the sheet instead. Will go back based on previous experiences, but I hope it isn't a repeat from this last visit.

Argia's is alonside the State Theater in Falls Church and a great location for before or after the show. It was an excellent location for our family to meet with friends for a nice early dinner. The others liked their veal, but I found my spinach linguine to be plain; not many flavors. Also they offer a Tuscaln bean salad, with comes in a cute little round shape, but really didn't have a lot of flavor either. The wine was excellent; a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet. And, curiously, although Open Table showed that there were no tables available from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, the restaurant was, in fact, almost empty.

Made reservations for a party of 10 at 6 on Sunday. Drinks came out very slow. My entree was incorrect and had to wait 0 minutes for the correct order while the rest of the table ate. Ordered cappuccino with dessert. Dessert came out quickly but the cappuccino took another 15 minutes. Asked the server and he said he was the only one who could operate the machine. Finally, we were over-charged for several bottles of wine. Overall, service was spotty and the food was average.

We had read reviews about the restaurant's ambiance rather there was lots of noise and Frank Sinatra crooning very loudly from the bar area in the other room. There was not anything like that at this restaurant. The mussels were excellent but the pizza had no taste and the crust was dry and bland.
