  • "We ordered the cornmeal crusted calamari with the spicy tomato sauce, which was delicicious. For entrees, we had the chicken Parmesan and the beef tenderloin and lobster special. The chicken was great, but the pasta sauce was not as good as we thought an Italian restaurants would be. The tenderloin was decent, but the lobster was cooked unevenly making some parts mushy and other parts tough. My husbands favorite part of his dish was the scalloped potatoes. Service was good!"

  • "Went to Argia's for the first time after hearing many recommendations. The decor was not what I expected - I expected more cozy and romantic; it was much bigger but that was ok. It seemed great for groups, as there were several. Our server was excellent - a high-school age individual but she did an excellent job and was really very nice. The food was excellent - the salad was fresh and featured simple good ingredients - definitely big enough to share if you want to also get a different salad or app to share so you can try more things. The chicken parm was one of the best either of us ever tasted and the gnocchi was very good."

  • "Everything was fine. The service and food were very good. But the bill that came did not accurately report what the 6 of us had ordered and included an item that we hadn't ordered (though I think I know why there was a mix-up). They also had a 20% tip included automatically (i guess because we were six). They only overcharged us a total of $13 on a $300 bill so we decided not to make a stink. So overall I'll go back but I'll be sure to carefully check my bill when it comes."

  • "I've been going to Argia's for almost 10 years. But was disappointed last night with their service. Slow, disorganized and wait staff lacking basic skills. Had the wait staff been better trained, it would have been a much better experience. Food quality remains very good over all. Mussels were fabulous."

  • "We used to love eating at Argia's and considered it the best italian restaurant in town. This restaurant is NOT what it used to be!! The food used to be fresh and delicious and now it is nothing more than a Chef Boyardee served in a restaurant. We were highly embarassed to have taken family in from out of town there after telling them how great it was. The service was horendous (took a half hour for my grandmother to get her hot tea) but the food has gone from the best in NoVa to the absolute worst. I ordered the chicken parm and there was no sauce on the chicken and the spaghetti that came with it tasted like Chef Boyardee. There is NO WAY they still make their pasta in house and ther is NO WAY the marinara sauce was fresh. Do Not Go There"

Perhaps the weather allowed for a more quiet atmosphere, and we were there early (5pm)...but it was terrific nonetheless. :) Food was YUMMY! Would totally go there again!"

  • "Reminds me of great family Italian restaurants in NJ. The food was good, but I have to go back one more time to give a higher overall rating. It wasn't disappointing at all. One thing for sure is that Argia's has a great staff with some of the best service in the a DC area. Definitely recommend to family and friends and looking forward to going back."

  • "Came for dinner on a week night. We had reservations but there was plenty of seating available so we were asked to choose where we wanted to sit. We decided to eat in the bar area because it felt more intimate and cozy. Our server was great and very cheerful and made suggestions which we decided to take. The specials were excellent, both were seafood dishes and were very well prepared. Overall experience was very good and we will return."

  • "Argia's is a charming spot tucked into the Falls Church crossroads. The Italian cuisine is not the standard "pasta in red sauce." The focus is on fresh ingredients, much of it locally sourced, and prepared individually. Several of us ordered the mushroom frittata, and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed it and, in particular, how light and fluffy the eggs were. The ravioli were hearty and the penne special was generous. Service was attentive but not intrusive. While the lunch menu is appealing, but since entrees are made from scratch, diners should be aware that they may have a longer wait for their meals than they are used to. This is no fast-food operation, but the results are worth the time."

  • "Taking my son out for his 17th birthday, we called ahead to arrange a way to note this. We were immediately told they would deliver a free dessert but they don't sing. A piece of chocolate cake arrived 15 minutes after our leftovers were wrapped. None of us like chocolate cake but this was fine until the check included $8.00 for the dessert. When we explained the situation to the manager she was anything but gracious. In fact she argued about it in front of my embarrassed son. The amount eventually came off but this was the second time we had a startling interaction with this woman. From now on if we eat at Argias's it will be takeout."

  • "My wife had been to Argia before me; she had a nice experience & wanted to share it with me. We were there early--6:00 p.m. on a Friday, so it was not crowded at all. The service was knowledgeable, personable and attentive. The food was well-prepared, attractively presented, and delicious. We had bruschetta, pumpkin ravioli and lasagna. Parking was easy in the big lot behind the restaurant."

  • "I had friends in town for the Army 10 Miler, so we wanted to 'carbo load' so we decided to try out Argia's. I will never go back. 1) The room was so loud--the acoustics were terrible and we had to talk over each other to hear 2) The food was completely flavorless. We had to pour loads of salt & pepper on our pasta to get any type of flavor out of it. It was so bad, that we all had leftovers and declined the box to take it home. 3) The Service was SO SLOW. While the waiter himself was nice, it took us 20 min to get the check after we asked for it. We were sitting, done with our foot for 20min before we had a chance to ask for the check. We had reservations at 6:30 and did not leave until 8:15."

Staff was busy and could do with more attsntion to details, but for a family-friendly restaurant it was forgivable. Make reservation and be prepared to exercise your parking patience"

  • "Argia's is a favorite spot, and this last visit was a nice chance to share it with friends. The staff are genuinely kind and accomodating. The food was delicious - the most tender gnocchi I've had in a long time. The wine was excellent, and the atmosphere - while more loud than is typical (a large party was in the other room, so we were more packed than usual), but we were still able to hold a conversation. Highly recommended."

  • "We had a waitress on her third day of work. She didn't offer a dessert menu-just brought us a check. And when we said we wanted dessert, there was no offer of coffee or drinks to go with it. The mussels came out cold and had to be sent back. Service was very slow. Bartender didn't know much about red wine so the owner came over and helped out. We've had great experiences in the past but this was not one of them. Not sure if I'd go back."

  • "Argia's new menu includes a wide variety of pastas and pizzas, which makes it a good place for a lunch or dinner, especially for groups. For dinner, it has a relative handful of traditional main courses, usually supplemented by one fish special each day. Fairly good list of wines by the glass. Another positive factor we like is that Argia's remains open and active a little later than many places in the area."
