  • "I've been to Patroon a few times. Last time, which was about a month ago, everything was outstanding. This time we were offered to seat upstairs on their terrace. Big mistake! No umbrella for our table so when the sun came out strong, it was extremely warm. The worst part of the meal was the extremely poor service. We had to ask 3 times for the ice tea that was ordered when we first sat down. When we finally got it, no spoon or straw was provided nor any sugar or sweetener. It wasn't even busy upstairs. So while downstairs is a fine dining experience, it was quite the opposite for upstairs (FYI...same prices). I would strongly suggest that they get their act together upstairs. Would not recommend to take clients there."

I had the risotto paella and it was delicious! I highly recommend for outdoor lunch; would definitely come back here again."

The venue is a personal reflection on the owner, Ken Aretsky who opens his restaurant and art collection up to guests as if in his home and likewise, can often be found personally greeting regulars and newcomers alike. His staff follows suit with tremendous attention to detail and emotive service, both of which make this my go to business lunch spot. After work, the rooftop scene is a bit more low key and fit for both drinks with buddies and business partners. I am a difficult person to please but Patroon always gets five stars. "

  • "Aretsky's Patroon serves consistently good food. I often go there for lunch and it never disappoints. The fare is on the lighter side which I prefer. Service is very friendly and professional although there is sometimes a wait for the table despite reservations. The only downside for me is the fairly high noise level common to many Manhattan restaurants. But it gets better after 2 pm."

  • "The server took drink orders from 3 of our party of 5, and walked away before I even had time to ask a question about the wine list. And no, the reason he left was not to bring the sommelier, who we never saw. I later asked why he had walked away. He said not a word..shrugged..stared..and went away again. Had I not been with clients I would have left the restaurant then and there. Eventually another server appeared, and she took care of us competently but indifferently. The food was fantastic, but the described service incident was infuriating. In addition, at the end of the meal my credit card came back with the (much lower) bill from another table. The server barely said thank you when I pointed it out. I won't go back."

My date arrived a little bit late after the reservation time, but nonetheless, I did not feel pressured or hassled. The surroundings are very intimate and I felt like I had entered someone's private residence. The food was very good and I especially recommend the monkfish. It was so soft and easy to chew on like tofu. All in all it is a classy Midtown spot in NYC. Suit up!"

  • "When ordering scotch or other drinks, little light on the pour . This isn't canada nor Utah and neither are the prices. That's ok but no need To be so spartan. Food was fresh and excellent . Dumpling appetizer with truffles was outstanding As was grilled octopus. Ken the proprietor couldn't be nicer as well. He went to each table and checked How things were going. That's a rarity in NY."
