  • "Oh my. What a delightful surprise. It is not often that a high end restaurant truly exceeds your expectations. Arethusa al Tavolo does so from every dining aspect. Outstanding, knowledgeable wait staff. The wine list is very well selected without being overbearing. The food was fantastic -- expertly presented; precise, intense flavors, great choices. Not a miss among any of the choices. In fact, we kept saying "Oh my." So much of what we ate was "farm to table" truly including a fantastic restaurant made sour dough bread and Arethusa butter. In fact, at the end of the meal, we walked over to the Arethusa Creamery and bought their butter to take home -- it was that good !!. A perfect evening, and we will be back........soon."

  • "We just dined at Arethusa al Tavolo for the fourth time. This is, by far, our favorite restaurant in the area and I am happy to report that on our most recent visit, the food and service was better than ever.I had the warm asparagus salad at the recommendation of our excellent waitress and it was absolutely delicious. My husband was crazy for the tuna tartare and my son was thrilled with the cheese plate. The duck breast, salmon and scallop main courses were all excellent. Meanwhile, the owners make EVERYONE feel special...thank you! Last, my son said the ice cream was the best he's ever had!"

  • "Back again with our two granddaughters (5 and 3), they were treated as well as we consistently have been as opposed to being "tolerated" as in many restaurants. The outdoor garden is beautiful and meticulous and the lobster rolls were over the top, better than we have had on the docks in Maine. Jenya (sp?), Samantha, Theresa and Mitch, and of course Marwan, thanks for making our 45 anniversary a memorable one!"

  • "The food, the ambiance and the service were A+! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our experience here. The service was ON - our waitress was lovely and made great recommendations. The bread and butter (something I don't normally eat) were out of this world. Fresh/Real and so tasty!! The meal got better with each course. We finished it with the homemade ice cream! Needless to say, this won't be the last time we visit. We've already made a reservation with 2 other couples..."

  • "Our dinner was delicious, each dish a superbly balanced, confident mix of flavors and spices. The country pate of duck, pistachio and pork belly was lovely, as were the stuffed squash blossoms. The scallops were perfectly cooked, with a smoky, salty edge from the bacon, and the duck was wonderful, too. Absolutely beautiful presentation of each plate. The flaws: the wait staff tends to hover just a bit too much and the pop music didn't seem to quite fit. But we'll be back for special occasions."

  • "We have been to Arethusa al Tavolo several times for dinner and this was our first time for lunch. The service was flawless (thank you Danielle) and the food, as usual, was creative, beautifully presented, and scrumptious. I had one of the best lobster rolls in CT and the sweet gem lettuce salad was refreshing especially with the fresh figs. We also ordered a half sized portion of the baked cheesy ditalini pasta, talk about decadent, so good. One of the owners, George, came by to say hello & Marwan, the General Manager, is always courteous and welcoming. We didn't have room for dessert, but will be going back for dinner in a few weeks. We look forward to April's amazing desserts. Wishing the Arethusa al Tavolo team continued success. "

From start fo finish the meal, the ambiance, and the service were outstanding. We drove about 50 minutes after work and were hoping the restaurant would not disappoint and it was wonderful. We cannot wait to make the drive again...and we will do so very soon. "

  • "This isn't my first time at the restaurant and I think my feelings remain the following: the food is beautifully presented, but could be much tastier. We had a squash blossom appetizer that could have been "fried anything" - the squash blossom was lost in the fried coating, although the sauce was good. The asparagus appetizer/salad has about 3 asparagus spears. My grilled "steak loin" had gristle (so I ended up trying to politely extract balls of chewed fat from my mouth!). The very expensive glass of blush wine we ordered tasted like Belgian beer - so I sent it back. "

  • "We recently had our second diner at Al Tavolo & will be back as soon as possible! The menu is original and creative. The chefs know how to get every detail just right. Each item we tasted was truly delicious with just enough intrigue to make you want more! The service is attentive without being over the top. From the manager to the hostess to the waiter there was an approach that made one feel as if our dinning experience was their most important focus. There is a wonderfully accommodating feeling that allows that diner to enjoy being served without actually noticing they are. I think that is a true skill. The atmosphere is lively & loud with tables perhaps just a little too close but it is still easy to converse w.o. straining. "

  • "When we arrived we were greeted as if wsteered at a friends house for dinner. I was very impressed at the level of service received and the little things that go a long way. The food was amazing. Every bite of food had a major WOW factor accompanying it. With the check came two small glasses of Arethusa Farm whole milk and cranberry orange cookies. It was a nice send off. The staff were all well trained and super attentive. The manager was also a team mate to the already team like atmosphere of the staff. The manager shook our hands when we left as if we were old friends. "

  • "My wife and I visited Arethusa al Tavolo on Sunday May 25th to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our second visit, having made the reservation immediately following a birthday dinner in March that was an incredible experience. While Liz A, our server from March, wasn't there, our server Liz this time provided exceptional service! My wife and I had the cheeseboard, the salmon and crab crepes, the gem lettuce and lobster avocado salads, and the Peking duck, and all was beyond delicious! This restaurant is the complete package with great ambience and energy and a staff second to none in the area. Samantha and the manager stopped by to chat and clearly have a passion for what they do. We recommend al Tavolo every chance we get!!"

  • "We were at the restaurant for their first day of lunch service and it was terrific. We ate outdoors in their courtyard and the setting is charming with a fountain in the center of the space. The menu had something for everyone and was perfect. The restaurant is now open Saturday and Sunday for lunch. While the restaurant is noisy, the outdoor space is not."

Don't get me wrong it was good, but not the outstanding rack of lamb I would have expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Our experience ended on a high note rounding the meal out with beignets that were excellent. They really pride themselves on flawless service, your water glass won't ever be empty! "

  • "The staff at Arethusa couldn't have been more accomodating. We booked an early reservation as we were celebrating a birthday with an infant in tow. This isn't exactly the type of restaurant that you bring a squaling infant to, but desperate times... :) The staff was all very gracious and we were able to enjoy our delicious meal--the blue cheese mouse amuse bouche was outstanding!--with minimal fuss. The staff didn't bat an eye when we had to pop up to bring the baby outside for a soothing moment, and each time we returned to the table another delicious offering was waiting for us. I can't wait to return and enjoy more of their amazing offerings!"

  • "Our family used to get milk at Arethusa Farm in the days of glass bottles and the honor system. What a wonderful surprise to find that there has been a delicious expansion of enterprise. Vegetarians always worried about the 'farm to table' designation as it often means that the menu caters to the bloodthirsty. I was THRILLED by the meatless options when we tried this restaurant for the first time on Mother's Day. There was plenty to choose from and the chef was more than willing to create other options. The tin ceiling and thoughtful architectural details intrigued my husband, an architect. Even our 'food critic' son was delighted with our new find and gave his rare tuna an A+++. Deserts were LOVELY. A perfect meal!"

  • "We travel over an hour each way to get to this gem of a restaurant. That should say it all! We are regulars about every two weeks and are greeted like family. After moving from Manhattan to Connecticut we thought there would be a dirth of fine restaurants. Arethusa al Tavolo is BETTER than ANY restaurant we frequented in NYC in all our years there. We have been never been disappointed in the 9 months we have been going. Have the avocado and lobster tartine for an appetizer. Marwan the maitre d' is friendly yet very professional and keeps everything running like a Swiss watch. As far as restairamts go, this is our home away from home."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a Sunday lunch of extraordinary appetizers, entrees and desserts. Her deviled eggs with crab and foie gras and my yellow fin with wasabi were mesmerizing beginnings. Her Arethusa cheeses and pasta casserole and my rabbit filled ravioli furthered the outstanding gustatory experience. A light lemon dessert and a chocolate mousse cake were perfect ways to finish our stay. The mood is one of refined and comfortable grace. Attention and detail are al Tavolo's hallmarks."
